Peter Barnes82 said:Because they're killing off the option to just have a basic checking account with an ECMC subscription. Instead, they're forcing these massive bundles on us. They take those old, simple plans and swap them for these overpriced packages stuffed with useless perks and benefits that 95% of customers will never touch...
It’s ridiculous. Like, if a bank already owns its own telecom network, who cares about their mutual funds? It makes zero sense.
Yeah, that's the reality right now... ☕

2 Arthur Ramirez12:
It's a standard $18 times 12 months, which is 660. Add the same amount for the spouse, and you're looking at 1320.

Can someone please, for the love of God, tell me WHEN this is actually happening? Thanks! 😁

No exact date yet. According to their projected timeline, it should be around August. That’s what my personal banker at Chase Bank told me. Until then, we shouldn't change a thing.

It’s pretty obvious when a bank actually takes a second to look at the big picture and asks themselves if hiking prices by 300% is going to actually net them more profit or just blow up in their faces...

Wait, did you say 300%?

My partner and I both have our own expert accounts => we were both paying an annual fee $160 => $320 for the both of us

If we both just switched over to the one from $20 => then we’d each be paying $240 => which would be $480 for both of us (only a 50% jump), but there's a catch: we'd have to either return some of our current cards or pay extra fees to keep them; so basically 👎

But honestly, I think we're just going to go with the family plan => where we pay an annual fee $240 in total => which actually ends up being less than what we've been shelling out individually until now.

Yeah, but my wife and I still have those Optimum plans that run about $6.75 monthly...

Then that whole family... increase is going to be practically invisible because you won't be stuck paying those individual card membership fees like you are right now $6.75 + a 50% membership hike

Alright, I’ll weigh in too. I was looking to add a credit card to my current banking setup, so they rushed through my application. They told me my existing plan would be canceled and replaced by a dynamic package that includes both a Mastercard and my usual service bundle for about $20 a month. I just realized this might actually cost more than sticking with my standard account fees and getting the Mastercard separately.
Is this more expensive, and if so, by how much?

Chase Bank - fees

Alright, here’s the breakdown...
Checking account - annual fee$6.75
Savings account - annual fee$12
EC Master Card - $100 enrollment plus a $150 annual membership fee

And seriously, why on earth don't you just use their online banking app already?!?

But look, if you go with the premium package... sorry, I mean the "Chase Bank" perks...😁 they throw in home assistance, roadside emergency services, and travel insurance... though let's be honest, how many people actually bother to use any of that stuff?👍 ...

I don't get why they're killing off these "all-in-one" bundles unless it's out of pure, unadulterated greed—which, honestly, is a pretty standard move for them 😁. If that's the case, I'm doing the same thing: ditching the premium tier ($480 a year) to pay for services individually. Here's how that looks:
- standard USD checking $6.75 per year
- foreign currency account $12 per year
- Mastercard $50 per year
- online banking - $40 per year

Did I miss anything? Is there no annual fee for a debit card? And will I have to pay for a security token $24, or any fees for my existing automatic bill pays?

But honestly, what would make me happiest is if they just added a note to my account profile saying, "Do not offer this customer any services unless specifically requested."

What, am I invisible too? I thought I provided some useful info and cleared up a few things... or are my posts just being ignored by everyone?😕

You already own the token—why on earth would you pay for it again? 🤷
As for those standing orders you've already set up, they won't charge you a setup fee; that's only for new ones.
From what I understand about the new Chase Bank offerings, they're actually adding an option to opt out of the bundle entirely. It should show up on your profile for all tellers to see—so you won't have to deal with every single employee at the branch asking if you want to sign up for more stuff.

Totally off-topic here, but seriously...
what exactly is this "new" stuff everyone is talking about? 🙏 🙏 🙏

Honestly, I don't think they could have designed a better system than this 🙏
It effectively prevents those clients—you know, the ones who aren't actually interested in buying extra services—from being badgered a hundred times over whether they want them or not.
Now, people can actually choose if they want Chase Bank to send updates about new offers and decide how they receive them—via text, email, or even snail mail...
Because I just absolutely loooove getting unsolicited news updates. 😉

Of course they get recognized. They even get rewarded for it.🙂
Milka with what? 🙂
I’m getting incredibly close to signing that family trust agreement...
I have no intention of selling my 82 shares of AT&T at these prices. I'm holding out to grab those eight bonus shares and whatever dividend comes my way. I need that cash to cover the last 15 pounds on my new bike.
Taking out a $15k loan on my Mastercard means I’m already staring down $2k in interest, plus a 3% fee, notary costs, and penalties if I try to pay it off early. Honestly, it feels like a total rip-off. It's just unnecessary.
When I’m in the red, I don't panic. I actually look at those losses as a sort of golden reserve—something valuable that I have no intention of burning through unless I absolutely have to.
Once we stop being tied to those family bundles, I’m going to end up with 25 kg of debt on my side and 25 kg of debt on my wife's.
I’ll just take what I need right now. There’s still plenty left over, so I can sleep easy knowing I can pay it all back in a few months without getting hit by any massive fees.

Alright, look... I finally get it. It’s that "magical" software that supposedly blinks at you to remind you what you actually pitched to a client and what they said in response—you know, so you don't end up asking them the exact same question 358 times like an idiot...

I really hope this was the last post regarding that topic on this specific thread... if someone is dying to talk about it, please 👍 just start a whole new thread 🙂 instead of cluttering this one up

We actually used Chase's roadside assistance this summer and it was a lifesaver. They handled everything fast and professionally. But looking at these premium bundles now, the costs are even higher than what I was paying before! 👍

I'm also taking out a loan in a few months, and since this premium tier offers a discount on loan origination fees, I've decided the whole package is worth it. One thing I'm stuck on, though—this card stuff you mentioned. I have a standard Mastercard and a Gold card. Which procedure applies to which? The Chase brochure says you get one basic deferred payment card and one basic credit card without an enrollment fee. So my Mastercard is covered, but where does the Gold card fit in?🤷
