Question:
Is it actually possible for an online transfer from my JPMorgan Chase account to another bank—specifically Bank of America—to be delayed simply because... get this... it's the weekend? 😕 😕 😕
Are we really at a point where transactions just don't move over the weekend???
I sent the payment late yesterday evening, and the current status of the transfer—or rather, the amount sent—is sitting there as a 'pending reservation.'

Yeah, I agree. It probably won't clear until Monday morning.

Arrogant, indifferent, and completely uninterested in solving a single problem. They won't even file a formal complaint.
Basically, I have a Mastercard Prepaid Refresh card that I bought specifically because I thought it was foolproof. They told me it couldn't go into a negative balance—you can only spend what you actually load onto it. Everything worked fine until a week ago.
I ordered some items from an online store; they charged me that day, only to charge my card again four days later for the exact same thing.
Since I was certain I still had funds on the card—as I should have—it got declined at the grocery store, and then the ATM tells me I've exceeded my limit. How can I be overdrawn when this card isn't even capable of going into the negative??????
I go to the bank, and they tell me, stone-faced, that I'm in the red.$33 I demand a transaction history, and sure enough, I see that the web shop ran the same transaction twice. I ask them to file a dispute and block the card. The response? There’s no woman available to handle complaints, and apparently, blocking the card $33 isn't a "good enough" reason. They told me I have to settle this with the web shop because they have nothing to do with it.
How can you have nothing to do with it when you allowed someone to hijack my balance on a card that is supposed to be impossible to overdraw?
They could have just wiped out an account with $10 $0.00 too.
Total lack of interest in fixing the issue.
As soon as this is sorted, I'm closing the account. I want absolutely nothing more to do with this bank.

This is an old thread, but I figured someone might find this info helpful.
The ACH system doesn't really process anything at any US bank over the weekend.
If you send it on a Friday before 2 PM, it usually hits the other account that same day, otherwise, it probably won't show up until Monday morning.
It isn't anything specific to JPMorgan Chase; it's just how all the banks work here.

I just submitted my request for a loan moratorium, and I was wondering if anyone knows how long the wait usually is before they actually approve it?

Can someone who uses JPMorgan Chase online banking tell me how to kill that stupid pop-up screen that jumps out at me every single time I log in to their site?
This is what it looks like:

It’s been popping up for three months straight now... seriously, these people are insane. It's like they expect me to read the same thing every damn time.

I guess we’re all just stuck waiting for someone to actually buy JPMorgan Chase—until then, the whole bank seems to be stuck in a deep winter slumber. 🙂

It took them fifty whole days to finally get back to me about my request for a loan moratorium, and all I got was a rejection notice. They basically said they looked everything over, but the Credit Committee decided to turn me down because my application didn't meet their current product requirements, specifically citing their internal procedures and general banking policies.
I’m really hoping someone who actually knows the ins and outs of this stuff could walk me through what those reasons actually mean, because honestly, it's all just corporate jargon to me. Thanks a bunch.

Word on the street is that JPMorgan Chase was ultimately sold off to an American-European consortium
—not to Sberbank as we were all led to believe back in the day, though I suppose the fallout from the crisis in Ukraine effectively killed that deal.
So, what’s the bottom line here? Is there any actual forecast?
(I'm assuming the European Union has already greenlit the whole thing, so that part is likely a done deal.)

They gave you "reasons," but they didn't actually tell you anything. To put it bluntly, the bank exercises discretionary authority based on its own assessment to reject any request—including a moratorium—and they can justify it by simply citing "business rules" or "bank policy" without providing a single specific detail. I have no idea what their exact criteria for approval are (whether it's unemployment, maternity leave, long-term disability, or a significant drop in income), but clearly, you either don't meet their threshold or you haven't been a model client. That's the reality.
