Kajlat can be handled by any amateur, which I demonstrated quite clearly with the post I deleted immediately afterward. 🥳
Maintaining self-control and engaging in civilized discussion is a significantly more difficult discipline, and it certainly does not come without a price.😉

I don't doubt it for a second 🤣
that nobody's actually seen anyone find real happiness in this life. 🤣

Any amateur can play the part, which I already proved by posting that one thing and deleting it immediately. 🥳

Ooooh... but then there are those "brave" souls who fearlessly slide into DMs for their chosen inner circle 😁
just flooding them with harmless little observations, of course 😁
and staying on call 😁 body and soul 😁

Self-control and having a civilized discussion is a much tougher discipline to master, and it doesn't come cheap. 😉

But honestly? Being able to actually recognize your own worth is the hardest skill of all. 🙂

This sounds downright immoral! Why am I not receiving such private messages? 😠
🤣

yet the capacity to recognize one's own inherent value remains the most difficult task of all🙂

What is your take—do you believe it is more challenging to recognize one's own worth or one's own shortcomings?

I don't even know where to start with this one. Honestly, I’m just sitting here staring at my screen, fuming. It’s like some people just wake up every day and decide that common sense isn't part of their toolkit. You see it everywhere lately—this total lack of awareness, this complete disregard for how things actually work in the real world. It’s exhausting. It reminds me of those situations where you try to follow the rules, you do everything by the book, and then someone comes along, ignores every single guideline, and somehow walks away scot-free while you're left holding the bag. It’s infuriating. It’s like trying to drive on a highway where half the people think stop signs are merely "suggestions." You can't run a functional society—or even a decent conversation—when everyone is playing by their own set of imaginary rules. I'm not just venting for the sake of venting, though God knows I feel like it. There’s a pattern here. A pattern of incompetence and pure, unadulterated laziness. We're talking about fundamental stuff, the kind of things you'd expect any adult to grasp, yet here we are. It’s a joke. A bad one. And frankly, I'm tired of being the only one noticing how ridiculous it all is. kaže:
This sounds straight-up immoral! Seriously, why am I not getting those kinds of promos? 😠
🤣

I mean, if that's what you're calling a "sparkle" in your eye, then honestly? I’m kind of terrified. It looks more like a flickering lightbulb in a haunted basement than actual enthusiasm. 🤣
I don't even know where to start with this mess. It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck where everyone involved is too busy arguing about the color of the wreckage to actually pull the brakes. You see it all over the news lately—just constant, mindless noise that serves absolutely zero purpose other than to get people riled up. It’s exhausting. It reminds me of those old sitcoms where the plot only moves forward because someone had to scream at a wall for ten minutes. Except in real life, nobody is laughing, and the "plot" is just us getting more and more divided while the people in charge sit back and collect their paychecks. We’re being played, plain and simple. Every time I think we've hit rock bottom with the level of nonsense being pushed on us, someone finds a new way to dig deeper. It’s a cycle, a loop, a complete circus. And honestly? I'm tired of being part of the audience.
Honestly? It’s way harder to see your own value. Like, seriously. Most people spend their entire lives staring into a cracked mirror, obsessing over every single flaw, every mistake, and every tiny imperfection. We’re basically wired to be our own worst critics. You can list your shortcomings like you’re reading a grocery list—"I'm lazy, I'm late, I'm a mess"—because those things feel heavy and obvious. They hit you right in the gut. But trying to actually acknowledge your own worth? That’s a whole different beast. It feels almost arrogant, doesn't it? It’s like trying to look at a sunset through a lens that’s covered in mud. You know the beauty is there, but you just can't quite wrap your head around the fact that *you* are part of that beauty. People will tell you you're great, and instead of believing them, you’ll start looking for the catch. You'll think they're just being nice or that they don't see the "real" you. It’s easier to dwell on the negatives because failure feels familiar. It’s comfortable in its own miserable way. But recognizing your value? That requires a level of mental toughness most people haven't even touched. It’s about standing in front of a mirror and actually owning your wins without feeling like a fraud. Trust me, spotting your flaws is easy work; seeing your light is where the real struggle begins.
Values? Absolutely. It’s the whole damn point. 🙂
That’s the only way you’re ever gonna wrap your head around the fact that someone else is actually more upright and better than you are. 🙂

Personally, I maintain that one should strive for contentment, as that spark in one's eye is an invaluable asset. In fact, I even find myself feeling a sense of gratification when someone gives me a Kajlat—after all, attention is attention, regardless of whether it carries a negative connotation. 😁

I can't say I agree, "negative" attention... sounds like a low tolerance threshold and short fuses to me... yikes 😲

hahaha, those are my favorites, people write some provocative post and then just wipe it out, then they try to peek "around the corner" to see if their target even noticed, oh man 😁
I guess it doesn't occur to everyone though

Self-control and civilized discussion are much harder disciplines to master, and they certainly don't come cheap. 😉

Yeah, that's true, you need actual discipline so you don't end up showing everyone how easy it is for any amateur to act out... referring to the comment above 🙄

I don't entirely agree with that first part—actually, those people often have quite a wide range of opportunities and deep interests. That’s probably why you can’t just write them off. It's easy enough to ignore total idiots—people you wouldn't want to deal with anyway, whom you can just disdain (though, let's face it, it's easy to feel disdained these days, too). To me, the bigger issue is the people who possess great qualities and social potential, but end up blowing it all because of their inflated sense of self and some sort of rigid, bureaucratic cowardice.
(I know, maybe that was a bit much and a little too obvious. 😁)

That spark in the eye—absolutely! We could look at it this way: who are we to steal anyone's spark? Even from the ones who troll us or look down on us. 🤷 Perhaps we should just float along in a sort of Zen masochism, playing the martyr and offering the high road until they finally show they actually have one. 🤣

😕

Regarding negative attention, I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Sure, I’d love to believe it counts as attention regardless of the flavor, but if I had the choice, I’d definitely pick the positive kind, thanks. 🙂

I’ve already noticed a few individuals who honestly make my skin crawl because they are constantly hurling insults and making fun of everyone.

What’s most pathetic, though—judging by the rest of the posts from some of them—is that they aren't actually dim-witted (that's usually the first thing you notice). But all that cognitive intelligence doesn't mean a thing if their emotional intelligence is basically non-existent.

In a way, I actually feel sorry for them; they end up destroying themselves with all that bitterness and frustration.

I'm right there with you on this...

It feels like everyone here has some little inner demon following them around the forum, constantly looking for someone to pick on...
And isn't it funny how the mods often just ignore the warnings we send about these types, almost like they're sitting back and enjoying watching us get harassed?

I find myself entirely unimpressed by dialectical prowess or an endless deluge of information; there is no shortage of intelligent people in this world, yet I consider those who squander their intellect on trivialities to be even greater fools than those who simply make mistakes out of ignorance.🤷

I am afraid we are not on the same page here, as my stance is neither rooted in Christian nor Zen masochism. Quite simply, I find such behavior repulsive, and the idea of mimicking the very individuals I despise never crosses my mind. I fail to grasp the logic behind attempting to disparage someone on a personal level 🤷 Or the persistent drive to force confrontational situations and incite conflict—to what end? 😕 Such tendencies merely reveal the internal turmoil of those who derive a sense of fulfillment from such combative communication. There are certain individuals on this forum whom I find genuinely unpleasant, but that is precisely why I choose to avoid them altogether.

Something interesting is unfolding over at Lonely Heart. I originally swung by to read some trashy drama, but now I’m hooked on the ongoing saga.

I've witnessed an absolute deluge of malice, envy, toxicity, and pure nerves... all coming from those "pitiful" former drama-seekers. First, they went after one forum member who wrote the best stories. The whole mob descended on him, claiming he was lying just because his writing was simply too good to be true.

Now, regarding this current mess—the main subject is actually pulling himself out of the gutter, better than any drama-seeker ever has, and in record time. Naturally, there's a wave of toxic rhetoric insisting he isn't doing any better, calling him a loser, and throwing fits about it. To make matters worse, it's all wrapped up in this facade of extreme concern and "worry." It’s obvious—it's nothing but pure projection.

Honestly, seeing someone get bullied into submission disgusts me even more than being targeted myself (at which point my "refined contempt" kicks in instantly). Of course, I stood up to these bullies in both instances—and wouldn't you know it, they couldn't wait to start picking on and insulting me. 😍

The moderators aren't helping either; they jump into threads and hand out bans to anyone with a different opinion.

Brilliant.

If anyone wanders in here, they’ll see exactly what I mean firsthand. A massive dose of intolerance. It's pathetic.

WTF?!? Can you not say something positive? What is the point of writing if not to vent, yet they choose to act out with such hypocrisy and perversion?

Look, there have always been people who haven't actually accomplished anything in their own lives, so they spend their time meddling in everyone else's, even if it's just online. Every now and then, I get targeted by certain types who decide to dissect my posts, quoting half-sentences just to find something to complain about. I heard about one woman who genuinely believes I think she’s some guy’s mistress and that I’m acting out of jealousy, ha, ha😂... as if. She actually thinks I'm sending her random DMs out of some weird vendetta.

I've also had some idiot (judging by the username) send me half-baked, incoherent messages myself; honestly, the guy probably fell in love with my persona or my work, ha, ha. He kept obsessively sending me nonsense thinking he was commenting on my private life. He clearly missed the mark—either he got his facts wrong or he just completely misread the situation. It's obvious he was stalking me all over Google, found some old photos, and sent them to me, presumably just to show off how much effort he puts into being a creep!😂😂😂 Sure, he could have at least done me a favor and Photoshopped out the extra rolls and the greasy bacon bits, but I guess that was too much to ask🤣😁

When he finally crossed the line and got reckless, I reported him to the admins and they banned the account. But since the guy is clearly obsessed and paranoid, he’ll probably resurface soon under a new handle, just like the fifty other clones they've already blocked.☕

When it comes to doxxing or leaking personal info like that, I definitely recommend filing a serious complaint with the mods, and if that doesn't work, call the police. You can't just hide behind a Wi-Fi signal, an IP from a Starbucks, or whatever other technical gimmick you want to use. We all know which types on this forum are prone to this kind of idiocy. Usually, people only bother with this kind of nonsense if they're incredibly bitter because the other person was unbeatably rude, or if they're just some total nutjob.🤷☕

but then again, the same goes for the crowd we're talking about—every single post they make leaves a little breadcrumb of who they really are, right?😁

I wanted to say, based on my own experiences, that the most insidious people—the most manipulative, the most dishonest players—are often those with sharp intellects who take an interest in subjects more complex than, I don't know, checking the weather app. Sabotage and gossip exist everywhere, I suppose; it’s universal. But true perfidy is characteristic of those who possess the necessary tools and prerequisites (cognition and social networks) plus that inevitable psychological special sauce: vanity. Vanity is an essential part of those "elevated" circles you mention, whether in real life or on a forum. It's essential in the sense that even those who seem far too smart or spiritual to fall for it end up succumbing. The problem with smaller populations, like our American intellectual circles or specific forum groups, is that when just one (just one!) person falls for an ego trip (or something similar), it very easily begins to define the entire dynamic and future of the whole group (groups of people gathering around similar topics, for example). Any confrontation with such a person inevitably carries the risk that, if you don't explicitly state it, you at least imply the psychological background of the issue—and that pulls you into a position where you start shaking the "group" from the inside, even if your primary interest is the topic rather than the person themselves. That's why I mentioned losing the spark in one's eye—by dragging oneself into debates with these so-called "strong personalities" (people with intense images, decisive stances, and high sensitivity to environmental stimuli), even when you want to discuss the subject and not the individual, you inevitably trigger a process of categorization (for vs. against them), grouping, and confrontation on what is already becoming a somewhat private level. Trying to persist in these discussions can lead to having that "spark in your eye" drained away until you're just exhausted and ready to quit, or the alternative is trying to drain the spark from the other person. The question is whether you actually want that, or if you'll just let the kids play. 😉

..but of an exceptionally destroyed, creaky, narrow-minded, and greasy spirit,

Wow. And who might that be, if I may ask? 😁

you can't choose, that's just how it is
and even there, you're more exposed, as paradoxical as that sounds in real life..
so you really have to watch what you write, because posts are ultimately what remain as your signature
but then again, it's also true that the crowd we're talking about leaves little bits of information about themselves with every single post, just like they do with their interests, right? 😁

You can choose your company. Or you can move to other platforms.🙂
And why would you be more exposed here than you are in real life—I’d actually be quite curious to hear your thoughts on that?
To be honest, what I find most fascinating—and it really is the core of this whole discussion—is how things differ between this space and the world outside. Is it perhaps because, in an online setting, you don't always know who is on the other side of the screen? You might inadvertently step on someone's toes without even realizing it, since you can't see them.

What a brilliant breakdown of modern society. Exactly. Everyone views everything through such a narrow lens because they're pathologically self-absorbed. You can't discuss a single topic without someone immediately pivoting the conversation back to themselves. The level of ego on display is enough to make me sick. I honestly can't stand when every sentence starts with "I was..." or "For me..."
argh!

The only thing that impresses me is when someone hits the mark. And that’s strictly based on my own standards, of course. I have no interest in following the pack, joining a witch hunt, or dealing with all that seasonal drama about infatuations and survival. (😁)

I didn't actually mean you were that type of person—that was more of an ironic, sort of parodic way of expressing my own displaced position. 😁 For me, what’s even more irritating than antipathetic individuals is the group-think debating culture where being intelligent or having something meaningful to say isn't enough—sometimes, apparently, all it takes is being in the loop. Conflicts often just serve as a way for certain people within a group to reposition themselves and their social standing within that circle. It’s always, without fail, about self-interest. It looks like a psychological conflict, but they aren't actually that foolish. 😉
