Look, it’s not just about the act itself being a "sin," it’s about the fallout—the actual consequences you have to live with afterward. We're talking physical, mental, or spiritual wreckage. It’s not a sin just because some rulebook or legal code says so; it’s a sin because it’s fundamentally destructive to a person. If someone doesn't believe in God, they usually avoid certain sins simply because they fear the tangible fallout. Like, you don't drive like a maniac and ignore every traffic law on the highway because you don't want to wreck your car, wreck yourself, or end up dead. Same goes for the psychological toll. You see cases where women deal with massive guilt after an abortion, leading to PTSD that haunts them for the rest of their lives. Then there are the spiritual consequences, but I won't get into those since most people on this forum think that stuff is just nonsense. To understand that, you need faith in God, and if you look at the history of the Church, the spiritual repercussions of sin are undeniable facts. Usually, you deal with that through prayer and fasting—or in extreme cases, exorcism.
(25) When Jesus saw the crowd gathering, he rebuked the impure spirit:
"I command you, mute and deaf spirit, come out of him and never enter him again!" (26) The evil spirit shrieked, convulsed the boy violently, and left him. The boy fell as if dead, and many thought he had passed away. (27) But Jesus took him by the hand and helped him up, and he stood. (28) When Jesus went inside the house, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" (29) He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer." (Mark 9:25-29)
