After everything I've been through lately, I’m looking for some insight. Does anyone know of a house available for a girls' getaway rental? I'm looking for two specific dates—or even just one of them if necessary: June 15th and August 10th, 2019. It doesn't matter where specifically near San Francisco we end up, though I'd definitely prefer to stay away from places like Denver or Savannah. Thanks in advance.😵

Is there anyone here who’s actually gotten married or is planning to tie the knot at Solaris or one of those little villages out in the countryside?
We've got a reservation set for June 8th, so if you have any tips or intel, please don't hold back! 🎉

Hey everyone, does anyone have a recommendation for a videographer? I’ve already got my photographer sorted, but I need someone else. Also, looking for a decent florist—ideally somewhere where the price actually matches the quality, you know? Heh. I’m getting married next October, and since I’m completely new to this whole wedding planning and organization madness, I’d be super grateful for any suggestions you guys might have. ☺

Hey there,
I’ve been digging through earlier posts, but I can only find one mention of the ballroom at the Solaris Palace salon. We're thinking about putting down a deposit, but since we don't live in San Francisco, I'm flying blind here—there's zero info on the food quality, the service, or even if the portions are actually decent. We were also looking into using their catering services, so any intel there would be huge. Also—just being honest—the manager, Peter, didn't really leave a great first impression on me. Has anyone actually worked with him before? What was your experience like?🤔

Any advice would be awesome!😁

I didn't host my own reception there, but I’ve been a guest twice in the last year. The food was solid and they definitely didn't skimp—they even packed extra leftovers for the newlyweds to take home. The staff is actually professional; you don't have to practically beg them just to bring you some ice. Plus, the landscaping around the hall has looked absolutely stunning over this past year. One time we had welcome drinks by the pool, and another time it was right by the bar outside the hall surrounded by all that greenery.

On the other hand, I have some personal experience dealing with Peter since we did our big event at Dolis. Honestly, he made a really great impression on me. Everything was easy to coordinate, even when we needed changes, and he even stepped up to fix a messy situation with the cakes on the actual night of the party—which wasn't even his job! I'm heading to another wedding in three months where Peter is the manager, and I haven't heard a single bad thing about him.

If I were getting married again 😬 I’d pick Palace salon over Dolis just because the hall is newer, the setting is way better than that parking lot mess in Dugopolj, and I heard the couple gets a room at the hotel.

Hey everyone—my fiancée and I are currently on the hunt for the perfect band for our wedding. So far, we’ve been really drawn to Kocka Band and that group Boss.
I was wondering if anyone here has actually attended a wedding where they were the headliners? I'm trying to get a realistic sense of what kind of budget we should be looking at for their services.

I actually saw boss play once. If I remember right, the couple mentioned a price around $2,300, but don't quote me on that since I'm not 100% sure... though I'm pretty close.

They were alright—good musicians—but I've heard better. For us, we had Zaratino from San Diego play, and honestly, I can't say enough good things about those guys. Even our guests kept asking where we found them because they were absolutely top-tier.

We held our rehearsal dinner at the Palace salon, and honestly, everything was flawless. Peter can be a bit tough to pin down during the initial planning stages—probably because everyone hits him with a million different requests at once, just like we did—but once the wedding date gets closer, he really goes all out for you. He was incredibly accommodating in the end, so huge props to him. Plus, they set us up with a suite for the newlyweds and snagged our guests some great discounted rates on rooms.
The live band was awesome, and Ranko Pupic handled the photography; we seriously don't have a single complaint!
If anyone wants the inside scoop on anything else, just let me know.
Cheers!

What’s everyone’s total budget looking like for the entire wedding? Honestly, everything I’m seeing feels a bit astronomical lately—every single vendor I check out, whether it’s the venue, catering, the band, or the photographer, seems to be hitting that $2,000 mark per item. It feels completely unreasonable, haha, though perhaps I’m just being unrealistic.

We were originally dreaming of an outdoor wedding, something nestled in nature, so I’ve been scouting out various vineyards and orchards. The ones that actually offer those picturesque settings certainly know how to charge a premium, while the others don't really cater to that vibe at all. In the end, we’ll most likely settle on hosting a backyard BBQ on private property. Has anyone here gone that route before? Specifically regarding the music and the neighbors—is there much to worry about? Are there certain local ordinances or noise rules I should be mindful of?

Right now, we’re in the thick of searching for a band... so far, the only acts I’ve come across are Euphoria and Peter D. They sound ABSOLUTELY incredible, but they are definitely out of my price range. I’ve also been considering a traditional vocal group or even just hiring a DJ. If anyone has any recommendations for bands, vocal groups, or DJs, please send them my way!

Thanks everyone, and all the best.

My own reception is at Dolis this year. Sure, there's a massive difference compared to Palace salon in terms of the atmosphere, the food, and the price point... so everything has its reasoning. How was everyone else's experience with weddings at Dolis?

I completely forgot, I actually need to find a florist too, but I’m looking for somewhere that won't charge me an arm and a leg $3.25 like ST Flowers or TNT does... if anyone has a solid recommendation, I’d really appreciate it.🙂

Hey ladies, queens, and everyone in between,
I’m on the hunt for some coupons from that wedding expo in San Francisco. If anyone happens to have any extras lying around, please let me know! Thanks so much 👍🙂🙂

Kyle Campbell3 said:I’m doing my party in Dugopolj this year. Yeah, there's a massive difference compared to the Palace salon when you look at the vibe, the food, and the price tag... so everything happens for a reason. How was everyone else's experience with events in Dugopolj?

Yeah, I totally ignored the cost, but man, the difference is huge. Honestly, it's probably for the best that I'm not planning on getting married ever again.

With the Dugopolj klasik, everything is so well-established that I honestly don't know if anything could actually go wrong. We were in the smaller room, so my only real gripe was the exit leading outside (having to walk downstairs) for the smokers, but there's an easy fix for that. The food was excellent, and the staff really knows what they're doing... Like someone mentioned above, Peter was seriously going above and beyond all last week to help with every little thing, and that honestly means a lot.

copperhound84;73527087 said:Yeah, I completely overlooked the price, and there’s definitely a noticeable gap there. That's probably a good reason for me to stop planning any more weddings altogether.

Regarding the Dolis klasik, the operation is so well-established at this point that it's hard to imagine anything going wrong. We were in the smaller hall, so my only real gripe was the exit leading outside—you have to head downstairs if you're looking for a spot to smoke—but even that's manageable. The food was excellent, and the staff really knows what they're doing. As someone mentioned earlier, Peter was incredibly attentive last week, stepping in to help with every little detail, and honestly, that makes all the difference.

It's good to hear that, especially since our hall was fully booked 🤣 though I actually attended a wedding myself recently, held in the large IKEA ballroom, and it was fantastic 🙂) 🎉

Hey everyone, does anyone have any experience with the florist shop Anda over in San Francisco? I just finished my initial consultation and now I'm sitting tight waiting for their proposal. They aren't exactly the budget option, but their selection is top-notch—everything from the floral arrangements to the other decor pieces is impressive.☕

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some insight regarding weddings at Marina del Rey in Monterey. I am absolutely obsessed with the outdoor area by the pool—though apparently, there's an extra $3,000 fee just to secure that space. I received a quote coming in at roughly $75 per person, and that doesn't even include drinks. Has anyone here actually organized an event there, or perhaps attended a wedding as a guest? Also, if we decide to bring our own alcohol, does anyone have a rough idea of how much we should budget for drinks per person?
Thanks so much!!

After everything I’ve been through lately, I’m looking to start fresh and was wondering if anyone here has any leads on a rental house suitable for a girls' getaway. I’m specifically looking for availability around two dates—either June 15th or August 10th, 2019. Ideally, we'd love something in the vicinity of San Francisco, though I’d prefer to stay away from places like Denver or Savannah. If anyone has any recommendations or knows of a spot, I would truly appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!😵
Are you looking to stay right in the heart of the city where everything is walkable and you can just head out whenever you feel like it? Or are you more in the mood for a quick one or two-night getaway somewhere quiet where you can actually relax and soak it all in? We spent some time scrolling through Airbnb and honestly, we found some really lovely spots.
