My bad, sorry! But seriously, you can find organza in basically any warehouse. It just depends on what color you're hunting for, but they all carry it!😉

Hey, if anyone needs a venue for August 21, 2011, in Greenville, hit me up via private message. We had to cancel due to some family issues, so feel free to take it off our hands

After the stress of planning my wedding and all the headaches involved in picking the right music, I figured I’d share a few thoughts about the DJ and coordinator who worked our event.

DJ Khaled and our coordinator, Jerry: 11/10 - highly recommend! 👍
Photographer Marino Franov and videographer Petrić: 12/10 - highly recommend! 👍
Waldinger staff and venue: 11/10 - highly recommend! 👍

Based on a recommendation from one of my fiancée's colleagues at work, I reached out to DJ Khaled in Washington, D.C. He put me in touch with Jerry, the wedding coordinator who works alongside him. Jerry was incredibly kind and easy to talk to, which was actually the main reason we decided to go with them. Since I couldn't make it personally, my fiancée and her maid of honor headed over to meet Jerry in D.C. to hammer out the entire timeline. Jerry was so helpful; he stepped in with his expertise to point out things that might have gone wrong and helped us design the perfect flow for the evening. We ended up swapping out one song and making a few other tweaks, but everything turned out exactly how we envisioned. That was the first big thing that made us feel at ease.

A few weeks later, we sent the DJ a playlist of songs we loved and asked him to stick to that general vibe. Mostly foreign hits, classic rock, and danceable tracks. No country music, nothing overly patriotic, just good vibes. The DJ performed his job perfectly—if not better than expected—based on our preferences, the atmosphere, and the crowd we had. Toward the end, he played two country songs and two hits by Thompson, and they fit in seamlessly. Not a single guest was disappointed. The playlist didn't feel like a "typical" wedding set, and in the end, everyone from our parents to our friends had a blast.
The agreement was that nobody except the newlyweds could request songs, and they stuck to that. DJ Khaled stayed smiling and relaxed the whole time, which was really nice to see. I actually approached him twice with a couple of song requests, but he told me he wouldn't play them right then because it would kill the current momentum and shift the mood too much. 👍 I agreed with him, and honestly, it was for the best. He played those songs at the perfect moment. Once the older guests headed out, we handed him a CD of electronic music, and we danced for a while longer. The guy really knows his craft. In my opinion, a great DJ is even better than a live band. You can always ask for what you want, and the variety is endless.

As for the wedding coordinator? The real deal. 🙂 Jerry was born for this. He handles the grand entrance, the toasts, keeps the guests engaged, thanks the servers, and keeps an eye on the clock to coordinate dinner, cake, and the bouquet toss with the staff—all while the DJ plays on in the background. If anything goes off-script or someone is missing, he coordinates with the DJ using pre-arranged signals to keep the music going. The wedding party didn't have to worry about the schedule for a second. Our wedding was in Indianapolis at the Waldinger hotel, and the head waiter, who has been doing this for 12 years, admitted he was a bit skeptical about having a dedicated coordinator, but he was blown away by how smoothly everything went.

I also have to give a huge shoutout to the staff at the Waldinger hotel and their beautiful ballroom, as well as photographer Marino Franov and videographer Petrić. They were actually even better than the DJ and coordinator! The photos and videos they produce are incredible. We posted some on Facebook, and people keep messaging us asking for their info. You can check out Marino Franov's work and contact him directly through his Facebook profile.
It was the best wedding and the most fun I've ever had in my life.

I do have one negative thing to mention, though. I wouldn't recommend the venues run by Fratelli Catering in Indianapolis. 👎👎👎. Between some financial hurdles, losing my job, and wedding guest lists getting smaller everywhere lately, we actually had to cancel our venue. We had to let the band go, too. We’re calling it off eight months ahead of schedule, which is plenty of time to find someone else—especially since I snagged this date back in May. I had the venue booked a whole year in advance! The band was amazing about it; they wouldn't even touch our deposit because they totally get what we're going through, and they know someone else will grab that date. But the owner over at the venue? He didn't even want to talk. He just kept insisting he could have rented the space ten times over already. As if he couldn't rent it twenty more times in the next eight months! Which, by the way, is exactly what he did. In the end, he kept a chunk of our money equal to a third of what we paid Waldinger for the venue, food, and drinks.

ironrider8, what city are we even talking about here—Indianapolis? I’d probably just move your post over there. This thread's got DJs, videographers, and wedding venues; it doesn't really fit this topic.

It’s happening in Indianapolis, but the DJ is coming all the way from Washington, D.C.

I just wanted to drop a quick note to let everyone know that Victoria P. didn't even show up for my makeup appointment on the actual wedding day 😁.
So, yeah—just thought I'd mention it, in case anyone was wondering if that kind of thing is actually possible...

Is this my girl from Indianapolis? You've gotta be kidding me! Seriously?!🙄
So how did you even pull that off? Who did your makeup?😕

I did it myself
. I mean, looking back it’s kind of hilarious, but at the moment, I was in total disbelief...🙂 Basically, she was five minutes late—I call her, she says she's on her way, then nothing. She completely ghosted my calls for the next hour. By the time she finally picked up, there were only thirty minutes left until the ceremony started... and she sounded like she was having some kind of crisis.
I don't know, maybe something genuinely out of her control happened.

Later on, I heard she has a reputation for being late and all that.
Anyway, just make sure you schedule your hair and makeup early enough so you don't end up in the same mess I did.

wiredowl10 I can't even begin to deal with this. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Just me. Alone. 🙂Honestly, looking back on it now, I can barely help but laugh, but at the time? I was absolutely floored. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
So, she was basically five minutes late right off the bat. I call her up, she tells me she’s on her way, and then nothing. Total radio silence. She didn't even pick up her phone for the next hour! By the time she finally decided to show up, there were only thirty minutes left until the wedding started. It was like she couldn't care less. Honestly, it felt like something was seriously wrong on her end.
I don't know. Maybe there really was something out of her control.

Then I heard that people have been showing up late and causing all sorts of delays. Seriously? Total mess.
Look, just take my advice: book your makeup appointment way ahead of time. Seriously. If you don't, you're going to end up in the exact same mess I was in. Don't say I didn't warn you.

And I booked her for my wedding too, even though now I’m having massive second thoughts... Should I just go ahead and book a backup?? I mean, seriously, what kind of unprofessionalism is this??? Just straight up ghosting my calls?!

I honestly don't know what to tell you ladies. I’m just laying out exactly what happened to me—and while I'm certainly not saying this will happen to any of you, I suppose it's worth noting that it's a possibility 🙄
It was unprofessional, to say the very least.

If you're looking to get lashes or nails done, I'd highly recommend Elite Salon in Indianapolis. I went yesterday and they did such a beautiful job. Also, for anyone needing extensions in the Midwest, check out Ann Decoration... $0.33 the lashes are thick and substantial. I was honestly blown away when I saw them yesterday!

Hey Robert Moore86,
do you happen to have any photos of those bows?? 😁

And I honestly can't believe what happened with Victoria, that is just incredibly unprofessional...
I'm going with Ann instead; she is absolutely phenomenal and we hit it off immediately during our first meeting 🙂
You have no idea how crazy she is ☕

I know I had something else on my mind to write or ask about, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around it... 😵
Does anyone have any catering recommendations??
I'm starting to send out those emails today...

I’ve gotta say, I have a bit of a negative take on Victoria too. It’s been about a month now and she just won't get back to me on Facebook or via my cell, even though I’m pretty sure I sent her at least ten different messages asking her to confirm she was still coming—but I haven't heard a single word back from her.
As far as Ann goes, I honestly think she’s wonderful, but I guess her prices are just a little bit steep for me. 😢

Neither Anne nor Victoria have bothered to get back to me. Honestly, they act like some high-end Hollywood makeup artists who are far too busy for the little people. It’s pretty obvious they aren't particularly motivated by the paycheck, and I certainly won't be recommending them to anyone given that lack of professionalism. To be fair, their work is decent enough, but it isn't top-tier—and thank goodness there are plenty of other talented professionals in this area!

I reached out to Victoria on Facebook yesterday, and she finally got back to me today, so I managed to snag an appointment. 🤷 Maybe the girl is just swamped right now and hasn't had a chance to reply, especially since she has someone booked with me in the morning and then another client later that evening.

Absolutely nobody!!! I’m just waiting on a girl from Sephora to confirm if she can do my makeup; if not, a friend is stepping in anyway. Honestly, I was planning on just using my own kit. I'm heading over to get my lashes done and that's really the extent of it. I've officially stopped caring. It's such a waste of energy to stress over people who are essentially trivial in the grand scheme of things. At the end of the day, it's still me, whether I'm wearing heavy glam or nothing at all. Just getting the lashes done will make enough of a difference.🙂
