Also, I could use some advice on where to pick up a train set—where did you guys go?

If I were you, I would put everything on a company tab; it really is the most cost-effective and stress-free way to handle it. In our experience, we picked up a portion of the supplies at our local Kroger just to ensure we had the essentials on hand, but we put the rest on the company account. We simply returned whatever wasn't consumed and received our $767 refund 🙂 back immediately.

John Doe shot our wedding photos... Honestly, we were pretty crushed. He didn't follow a single thing we talked about, even though we literally wrote everything down on paper so there wouldn't be any confusion... Then, when we swung by three months later to get the DVDs fixed up, he just gave us this line about how he'd already cleared out all the footage... and blah blah blah. That was our run-in with him, anyway. Maybe someone else had a better time...

What’s the going rate for land out in the Midwest right now?

But what kind of venue are we talking about? It really depends. You can find places where you just rent the space and bring your own catering, or you can go all-in with per-person packages. Prices usually range from $100 (or even more) up to $50 per guest.

To all my friends in the Indianapolis area—if you find yourself searching for the perfect pastries or cakes, I cannot recommend the local Candy shop on Joseph enough (http://dundoslastice.com/index.php). They were truly divine! 🙂 The pricing is quite reasonable, and more importantly, they possess that genuine, homemade flavor; there isn't a hint of that artificial sugar or margarine taste you often find elsewhere. We finished every single slice of the cakes because they were massive, beautifully presented, and simply melted in your mouth... In fact, every single guest was raving about them and asking where I had picked them up 🙂 Even the wedding cake was absolutely stunning... decorated with flowers and butterflies, exactly the vision I had in mind! 🙏

Hey everyone—could anyone point me toward a great hairstylist? I’m looking for someone talented, and honestly, I don't mind whether they're based in Indianapolis or Memphis; I'm happy to make the drive if the work is worth it.

Oh boy, we already paid his deposit... Is there any way to get that money back if we decide to cancel, or is it standard practice for them to just keep it?

Also, does anyone have a photographer recommendation that won't break the bank?

I'm going with David from Savannah. I'm getting 3 DVDs, 300 photos, and 4 albums$67! Think that's a fair price? I checked out his work and I'm obsessed—it’s exactly my style, though maybe not yours! But honestly, David is awesome. He's super easy to work with and open to whatever you need.

Actually, Elijah has an identical package for $1333. The photos we saw from them look good and the staff seems friendly. However, I don't personally know anyone they've shot for, so I don't have real feedback. I did see one negative review on a forum and heard something similar from an acquaintance... so now I'm a little worried.

Did you happen to see David's work at his studio or through someone you know?

Bratic actually had them shoot his wedding, and they handled both the photos and video perfectly. Everything turned out great, and the wedding album was put together beautifully!! Plus, he showed me an album from another couple they did just to give me an idea of their style.

Hey, Tref is actually shooting a wedding for me this November. I've known them for a while—they're solid, definitely recommend them. 😉

Hey everyone! Just wanted to jump in and join the conversation. I’m getting married next May! Right now, I’m on the hunt for the perfect venue. I’d love to hear any experiences or recommendations you might have—specifically regarding the Jeram venue in Tennessee or the V & Co space in Memphis. Thanks so much!

My sister actually got married out in Jeram just two years ago—and now it’s our turn next July!
The food was seriously incredible, which is the absolute dealbreaker for us, right? Everyone was raving about it!
They’ve got everything covered too—music, photography, and even those girls from Memphis over at Exclusiva who handle the decor—so we’re pretty much planning to book the whole package through them.
Plus, with the specific bundle we picked, we actually scored that awesome light show they do 🙂))
The only thing we're stuck on is where to get the invitations. Anyone have any good leads?

The folks over at Exclusive handle invitations too, so why don't you just check with them?

I honestly had no clue... they told me in the meeting that they’d handle all the big stuff—the car, the church, the venue, the flowers, the whole nine yards... but I totally missed the part about the invitations and thank-you notes. Or maybe I just didn't hear them? Everything was happening so fast and I was flying solo—you know how it gets 😉

Wait, are you telling me they actually have everything at the Jeremiah venue??? And the crew from Exclusive (I was already thinking about reaching out to them anyway)... can you let me know if those services are included in the package or if they cost extra? And what are we looking at price-wise?
Has anyone else worked with Jeremiah or maybe V&S over in Springfield?

Oh, totally!
So we headed over there and they told us they’re actually partnering up with certain vendors now. It makes things so easy—we can just nail down the band, the photographer, and all the decor right then and there...
Plus, they gave us a massive discount since we’re grabbing everything as a bundle. Honestly, it was such a steal 🙂)))
The desserts are their own, and they’re already baked into the venue price. The girl I was chatting with mentioned that even their top-tier package at $250 and $100 includes the full hall decoration and my bridal bouquet—she handles all of that herself! They have three cheaper options too, but those don't include the decor, so we'd just coordinate that separately with those girls from the local boutique in Chicago.
I’ve been scrolling through the photos on Facebook of the stuff that venue coordinator does, and it looks amazing. She takes care of the hall, and then those other girls will handle the church, the car, the favors, and all that good stuff.
No matter how I look at it, it’s perfect for me—I won't have to lift a finger regarding the venue. For just $100 per person, we got the whole nine yards, including the welcome bags for the guests and even a free light show.
The only thing left on my plate is sorting out the invitations and thank-you notes with those girls from the boutique, but I haven't had a chance to give them a ring yet.
I've already got my makeup artist and hair stylist lined up, so basically, everything is pretty much set! 🙂

Hey casualeagle732, I was wondering if you could maybe give me a recommendation for a good makeup artist and someone who does hair?
