If you're in Indianapolis, you can get your catering and tent rentals through Srijem or Gale. 🙂

You might want to take a look at this... Wedding packages plus the Crystal banquet halls (there are two in Indianapolis and two in Belišće)...
As for suits for your partner—check out Harkanje over at the local market (they run about 500-$200).. I suppose I could send you photos of two different suits if you think that would be helpful..

I hope this helps you out even just a little bit 🙂

Would you be so kind as to send me some photos of that suit via private message? My clients are getting married this October, so we are officially on the hunt, and since Harkanj isn't exactly a cross-country trek away, it seems like a practical option. Thank you.

Does anyone have a recommendation for catering services in Columbus? I am looking for a company that handles everything—essentially providing a full setup so the guest reception feels completely seamless at home.

I'm trying to get a sense of what we're looking at regarding tent rentals, catering costs, and all that good stuff.

So, I know that over at that ranch place, they handle the whole setup—they even have their own tent with a wooden floor (which is a huge deal for me, because I am definitely not trying to sink my heels into the grass 🙂).

They also have this gorgeous space tucked into some glass cliffs, and if you’re looking at a smaller guest list—say, under 80 people—you could easily fit everyone in there.

Anyway, here’s the link so you can check it out for yourself:

And I’m actually looking to rent something myself, just something small... but honestly? I can't find anything anywhere. 🙂

You can pick up some basic white pavilions over at the local Party City near $67... though you can usually find them at places like Walmart, Target, or even Kroger too.

You can find that exact shade of white at Target for $53, though you might even spot it over at Home Depot

Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to find some interesting party favors?

Maybe some gourmet sweets, local spirits, wine, magnets, or even handheld fans...
Thanks!

Has anyone here ever held an event at Nikolin's? I'm curious about the quality of their service and any other impressions you might have regarding the venue.
Thanks 🙂)

I could really use some help here... My wedding is set for September 14th this year, and I haven't even managed to pick out a florist yet. If anyone could recommend a good shop in the Columbus area or somewhere nearby, I would be so grateful. My budget is capped at $1000, and I do know for certain that I would love to have carnations 🙂

Long story short at Nikolin's Bridal Salon🙂 in Columbus, I’ve got a deposit sitting there for $233 that I’m definitely not going to use. So, I figured I’d see if any brides-to-be want to swoop in and take over this credit for $167 instead. It’s basically free money if you need a dress. Any takers? 😉

Hey there! So, I actually have Jane Marjanović's number on hand. If anyone's looking for it, just shoot me a DM. Also, quick question for the ladies—does anyone happen to know what the going rate is for those balloon sets they use for the undergarment stuff?

I went to Nama and picked up a garter for about twenty bucks, then I brought it over to Vigus—where they charge way more for things like that—and paid a little extra just to cover the difference. I also ended up paying a bit of a premium for a balloon, though honestly, it was one of those tiny ones with hardly any helium in it. It felt like quite a bit for such a small thing. $100

Hey ladies 🙂 I tied the knot last July.
Our dinner was held at the Elegant ballroom on Island. Both my guests and I were absolutely thrilled with the venue.
The music was provided by a group from Indianapolis called Bolero Band. Those guys really knew how to set the mood—they played flawlessly and stuck to everything we had discussed. Huge props to them!
I’ve noticed some chatter about makeup issues lately. For my big day, I went with the owner of the Esenca salon. My makeup stayed flawless from 10 AM all the way until 5 in the morning without needing a single touch-up. She charged me $83. It was worth it, especially since I live about 25 miles away from Vinkovci. There were four of us getting our faces done. As for my hair, a friend of mine who's a stylist handled that.
Originally, I had an arrangement with Ana Coric, but then a few of my close friends experienced the absolute worst-case scenario: the pro just doesn't show up on the wedding day. I kept praying that wouldn't happen to me. Makeup services go for $117, which feels steep when you consider she uses brands like Max Factor or L'Oreal—you know, those basic drugstore things. If I'm dropping $117, I want high-end, professional quality. This whole thing started stressing me out, but the final straw was when she demanded a $83 deposit a full month before the wedding just to guarantee her presence because July is such a busy month 😕. That’s when I lost my cool. I ended up cutting ties with her and gave Esenca a call instead. Luckily, they had an opening that morning. We agreed she’d arrive around 9:00. She actually showed up at 8:40, we grabbed a quick coffee and chatted, and then she did all four of us up. Everyone walked away happy. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask. I'm here to help. 🙂

Hello everyone! To start things off, I am currently researching venues and looking for musicians at the same time. I would love some recommendations—and if you could include pricing for bands, ensembles, or groups with a diverse repertoire, that would be wonderful. Additionally, I am looking for photographers, videographers, catering, cakes, and even attire.

The event will be held in Donji Miholjac, so we will most likely head over to Harkanj to go suit shopping. Since you mentioned it’s quite affordable, that sounds perfect! As for everything else, anything within my reach up to 62 miles is absolutely fine... so please, feel free to share your suggestions! 🙂
Of course, we are trying to keep costs down since we are paying for this ourselves. I am actually planning to pick up the rings in Canada (which is quite chic!) because I shop at their jewelers regularly and get a great discount on gold. Regarding my dress, my maid of honor is going to try to find one for me in Zg since there is a significant sale happening there. One thing I am unsure about, though—if anyone happens to know—is the cost of renting a tent for about 100 people and what that typically includes. I am trying to weigh whether that is more cost-effective than just booking everything directly through the venue.
I am feeling a bit overwhelmed because I am not sure which priority to tackle first: securing the venue, booking the musicians, or coordinating with the priest.

Also, the date cannot be before September. This means the earliest possible date would be September 28th. A Friday wouldn't work for us; since it isn't peak season, I imagine it might be difficult for guests to take time off work.
To anyone who can help with a comment, a piece of advice, or a suggestion, I thank you in advance!! 🙂

I have a bit of a question for you all... now, I’m not the one walking down the aisle, but I am serving as the Maid of Honor... maybe this should have gone in a different thread, but since I see some folks here from the Midwest, I figured I'd reach out to see what kind of advice you might have regarding local traditions? It’s all a bit foreign to me—honestly, I feel like I have no clue what my actual duties are or what the "unspoken" rules might be. I was told it’s standard for the Maid of Honor to bring the wedding cake, so I’ve already placed that order, and I picked out a gift based on what the couple specifically asked for... but is that really it? Are there other obligations I'm missing? Well, obviously being by her side all day is a given—I know that part—and I did tell the bride to just let me know if she needs anything, to which she just replied, "Everything is fine, don't worry about a thing!" But truly, I want to do this properly and follow all the right etiquette because they are both such dear friends of mine. I've seen some people mention that sometimes the wedding party covers the church fees—is that a common tradition here in the States too, or am I overthinking things? And what else? Oh, right! Someone mentioned providing a basket of baking supplies for the festivities... I think I'll ask the bride what exactly she needs for that. Is there anything else I should have on my radar?
