We haven't officially put down a deposit yet—we wanted to do a bit more digging first—but it’s looking pretty certain. My only tiny gripe is that I wish the dance floor was just a little bigger. We’ve cleared all the food safety standards, and as for the desserts and drinks, we’re checking in with the catering team to see if we should handle everything ourselves!

Anyone know where I can rent a wedding timer? Has anyone here dealt with this before, and what’s the damage gonna be on price?? 🤷

Thanks

😍

Hey ladies—does anyone actually know the seating capacity per person at the Marriott?

I haven't personally pulled the trigger on renting a vintage ride, but I know Marma does wedding lighting and they have classic cars available too. Check their Facebook page—they've got albums with photos of everything they offer.

DraftKings and Barun Trenk... does anyone know how much lunch will run us tomorrow if we just stick to the salad? If I remember right, it's $17 per person, right?

What exactly does the boss provide for the lounge? I heard he only offers seating by the chair 🤷
but we didn't even bother calling out of principle since they listed a toll-free number 🙄

A colleague of mine tried it too, but they ended up going with DraftKings instead.

Just putting this out there in case anyone needs it:
DraftKings - just about $30 $0.00 plus lunch, which we’ll need to budget for based on the final headcount.
Barun Trenk - bos - minimum 20 $0.00 for up to 300 people; the price per head actually drops if more show up. They quoted me $18 per person plus lunch $12 for a group of up to 450, provided at least 40 people sign up for the meal.

So, we finally pulled the trigger yesterday and booked a room at the DraftKings hotel (which, by the way, is basically a construction zone right now because of all the renovations) for $65 people. They’re handling most of the setup, but we’ve gotta bring our own wedding cake—and honestly, any leftover food can just be packed up and hauled back to the house tomorrow for lunch.

Hey, regarding that rosemary you all ordered—who did you guys end up getting it from? I’m looking for someone actually reliable, and I need to know what kind of prices we're talking about. Also, have you already gone ahead and decked them out with pins, or did you just leave them plain? I'm specifically looking for someone around the St. Louis area.

Hey ladies! I was wondering—what’s the deal with the photographers over at the photo studio in St. Louis? Does anyone know what their process is actually like, and what kind of budget I should set aside? Like, am I looking at roughly $60 or maybe even $10 $0.00? thanks🙂

Hi there,

I'm looking for some band recommendations for a wedding. I need a group that can nail those traditional folk sets but also play all the other genres... just really fun, upbeat music 🙂 and knows how to keep the energy high 🙂
Any photographer recommendation?

Thanks! 🙂

Look, if you want bands like Twist of, Orion, or Silver (we actually booked them ourselves), those guys are versatile as hell. They’ll play anything—fun hits, foreign tracks, even that old-school country stuff. You name it, they play it. As for a photographer, Cerić is your guy; he’s been in the game forever and his work is rock solid. If you want someone a bit younger, go with Marin Franov. I know him personally, and the guy is totally legit. Just a heads up though: with both bands and photographers, the biggest headache is always whether they're actually free on your date. So, don't dawdle. Get out there and start asking questions now if you want to lock in the best options. 🙂

...does anyone have any recommendations for a photo studio in the vicinity of St. Louis or maybe Indianapolis? (Ideally somewhere that won't break the bank but still brings some creative ideas to the table)... I've been doing a bit of "research" on Studio 69 and Krizmanic... 🙂
...also, while I'm at it... does anyone have suggestions for hair and makeup? (Looking at the comments, everyone seems to rave about makeup artist Elena Marjanovic—does anyone happen to have her contact info or a portfolio I could look at somewhere)...
...and where did you all order your invitations from (specifically in the St. Louis area)... 🙂
Thanks so much in advance...

Studio 69 performs beautifully, though they are quite expensive (exceeding $2,500), and I am uncertain if they are still booking weddings. I haven't reached out personally due to the cost, but I heard rumors they might be shifting their focus exclusively to commercial shoots...
Regarding Krizmanić, I certainly don't wish to be the last person on Earth to say this, but that is simply my opinion, and everyone is entitled to their own choice.
To provide a bit more context—they employ several different teams, and the quality isn't consistent across the board. In my view, the photos are somewhat ordinary; what people call "something special" is actually just heavy Photoshop. They lack original concepts, and more often than not, the couples arrive with their own ideas already set.
Furthermore, there have been many complaints regarding the video work, ranging from poor filming techniques to subpar editing.
In the most recent case I am aware of, the couple didn't receive anything until six months after the wedding. Even after returning them twice for corrections, the results were still unsatisfactory two months later.
One specific issue was the lack of variety in the footage; some segments were repeated twice. This wasn't necessarily a technical error, but it felt very poorly executed—the video would show photos of them posing in nature, followed immediately by footage of them actually posing in nature. :/

I just watched a video by Krizmanić, shot by Andrew, and I have to say, it was great!
When it comes to our session, it’ll just be my dad and me behind the camera, and I honestly think it’ll turn out wonderful.
Neither my fiancé nor I are really the "posing" types, so we want to keep things as simple as possible. Just a few nice shots to remember the day by, and then we'll stick to the usual routine: some photos at home, hanging out with friends and family, the first dance, cake, the ceremony at the church with everyone—it’s going to be perfect!
As for timing, we'll see how it goes... local high-end studios charge an absolute fortune, and they tend to drag things out by burying you in extra tasks. I actually know a couple who waited nearly a year just to get everything finalized (I've mentioned that before).

I can't stand Ceric, feels way too old-school 😁
In my book, these photographers are worth it: Leon Productions, Artis (Jelena and Maja), or Franov...

Uffff... I suppose that means I'll have to start looking for some different photographers then...
😢 ...
...does anyone happen to have any other recommendations they could share?

Maybe try PiM studio? I feel like they’ve got real potential. I haven't done a deep dive into their work yet, but a friend of mine was totally thrilled with them...
