Alexander Thompson93 said:Maybe try PiM studio? I feel like they’ve got real potential. I haven't done a deep dive into their work yet, but a friend of mine was totally thrilled with them...

I’d also recommend PiM 🙂 (Y) ! Just a heads up, they stay pretty busy, so you should probably book them soon...
The Kelbas family out of Des Moines is also excellent 😉

In Des Moines, there are a few studios that frequently get recommended as solid options, so you might want to do a little digging there first.
Then there's Sioux Falls.
Unfortunately, there isn't much worth mentioning in Virginia Beach either; I've heard Krizmanić and a guy supposedly from Ivankovo are decent, but I am not sure what their rates are like.

I hear the photographers over in Des Moines are top-notch, and they’ve got some really solid deals too! Their starter kit $1333!

Unfortunately, I cannot assist with those specific items. I already have my own hairstylist, and I intend to design the invitations myself.
As for makeup, I plan to find someone eventually, but it is still quite early in the process. Please do let me know if you hear anything regarding services available in our area.
Regarding the invitations, I suggest first deciding on a style—whether you prefer something simple, elegant, humorous, or perhaps a creative concept like a puzzle. Once you decide, the search becomes much easier. There are many professional companies out there, as well as plenty of talented individuals who create them from home. I believe someone previously shared a link to a company based nearby that offers very reasonable prices and ships without any issues, so it might be worth looking into.
The most affordable options I found that actually caught my eye were $1.75 at the local florist; they were a beige color with a satin finish, and the price included both printing and the envelopes.
My husband suggested that we should probably make them ourselves... and while the puzzle idea is quite clever, they cost about $5.00 per unit.

You’ve already mentioned the hair and makeup stuff in a few posts above—I feel like we're just circling the drain here! 😉

...as for the invitations, I suppose I'll have to look into a few more options...
On another note, Sminka, I could really use a recommendation from you, since I've been seeing so many different suggestions floating around these posts...
I'm just not quite sure yet—maybe Ana Coric at Studio 54, or perhaps Jelena Marjanovic? I'm trying to find a reliable phone number for them, but I haven't had much luck searching online so far...🙂

I know a girl who used them for her wedding hair and makeup. She looked incredible—nothing over-the-top, just a clean look that actually photographed well. 🙂

We went to visit our guests after dinner just because we felt like it. We wanted to say our goodbyes properly and give them some actual attention, and they really appreciated the gesture. We had 150 people over, so honestly, it wasn't even a hassle. 😉

Alexander Thompson93 said:I know a fantastic makeup artist named Deer. She doesn't travel to you, though—you have to go to her studio. It's located right in the downtown area.

Alexander Thompson93 said:Go with the Chanel studio, hands down! Me and pretty much everyone I know have had nothing but amazing experiences there. 😍

Victoria is great too, though. She did my makeup once and I looked fantastic, but I still wouldn't really risk it if I wanted everything perfect...

I hope this is enough info for you! I actually mentioned this in all those other posts I pulled for you 😉

Alexander Thompson93, I completely agree with everything you're saying. However, speaking for myself, I'm based out of a smaller town in the Midwest (and since she asked about the travel costs), it wouldn't be very practical for me to make that trip on that day. It’s at least an hour and a half to two hours each way, and considering the makeup session is likely just for me, paying for the travel doesn't seem worth it—especially when it could run me $100-$67. I know the standard rate is usually around $0.67 per mile, but I'm not entirely sure if they calculate the mileage for a one-way trip or the full round trip.

Hmm, well, Serena Williams wrote that, and she’s based out of a place like Des Moines 😉

As for those cities over in the Midwest, I can't really help you there. I only know the folks near Des Moines—either I've visited them myself or I've seen my girlfriends go to them.
If you're looking for someone in that area, I might know that Kokaj guy is absolutely top-tier 👍

Chris Morgan... I think I have to agree with you there, mostly because I grew up in the same part of the country...
That’s really why I’m asking for recommendations on what I mentioned earlier. To be honest, I don't really know much about the local makeup artists or any of the good cosmetics studios around here...

I can already see this potentially becoming an issue for me, as I haven't heard anyone particularly rave about it, though to be fair, I haven't had the chance to test it out myself yet.
First off, I have no desire to look like a circus act, and secondly, I demand high-quality cosmetics. I am not suggesting that drugstore brands like Maybelline offer foundations that are actually comparable to professional-grade products, because if they were, I would simply do my own makeup at home.
My personal philosophy is that a makeup artist should charge roughly what their high-end foundation costs.😁

Jane is coming back home soon. I actually attended two weddings this past fall where she was the photographer. Unless something has changed since then, I think her style is pretty much the same. 🤷

To be honest, Krizmanic is terrible in my opinion. He took some good shots for my friends—just three of them, all within a few months of each other—but they only look good because they brought their own creative ideas to the table. Everything else he shot on his own was just typical stuff: group shots of people jumping, the bride flipping the bird, bridesmaids gossiping, or the bride posing by a window with her hands on the curtains. It’s the same tired routine he’s been pushing for years. And just to be clear, I’m talking about Andrew and his son. All of them had major complaints afterward; one friend felt the video was missing so much, though I can't even remember the specifics anymore.

On the flip side, a fourth friend used Leon p, and man, did he surprise me. Between the photos and the portfolio, I was blown away. (The video is fine, everything was captured, but honestly, nobody cares about the video as much as the rest, not even Leon p 😁). I haven't seen a portfolio like that anywhere else in the States. It was a genuine shock. His pricing is fair, especially considering everything you get in the end. Plus, the photos are stunning.

If you don't mind, could you please let me know the price of the bot? If it's easier, feel free to just send it via private message.
The term "normal" is entirely subjective. To me, $10,000 is perfectly reasonable, whereas in certain circles, people looking at that price point would consider it expensive...

Yeah, maybe I used the word "normal" too lightly there. My bad. $2.50 Honestly, considering everything they actually got, I think it’s more than fair—especially compared to what happened back in Krizmanica. I know they received that massive classic photo album, plus photos on CDs, videos on DVDs, and I can't even remember how many copies were included. There was also this huge leather-bound book where the images aren't just stuck in, they're actually printed on thick, high-quality pages like a catalog, along with two smaller versions for the parents.

I find that price point perfectly reasonable for everything included; I will plan to visit their studio to check things out myself
Do you happen to know if they typically schedule the portrait session for the couple ahead of time or on the actual wedding day? Usually, people opt for an earlier session $333, so if that is covered under this package, it is more than a great deal

They were shooting around 1 p.m. that day. Then, once they moved from the church to the hall, they headed over to the park for more shots when the light went down. I’m pretty hard to please, so honestly, when I heard a bot was doing the photography and video, I was skeptical. But after seeing how everything turned out—and since I’m actually getting married myself now—I’d definitely hire them. There were three people handling the photos and video, and they stayed until the very end of the reception.

Hey ladies,

Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with the Mosaic flower shop over in Indianapolis?
I'm wondering how they handle their business—do they actually follow through on what they promise? Also, if you happen to know anything about their general pricing or what kind of quality you get for your money (I realize it probably varies quite a bit depending on the specific blooms or extras), I’d love a little ballpark figure just to have a guide.

I've had nothing but great experiences with them! They are super reliable and always stick to what they promised. As for the cost, honestly, I think they're one of the best deals in town, if not the absolute best, so the price is totally worth it.😬

Does anyone happen to know where I might be able to find invitations like these around the Facebook area, maybe near Savannah or Indianapolis?
