Shoot me a DM if you’re dealing with any bad situations. I’ll have my in-laws visiting downtown Chicago soon, so I need to be ready. Thanks in advance.

I actually heard a rumor about that guy Peric—apparently, he tried to charge a group of newlyweds for a broken toilet, even though that thing was already busted at one of the wedding receptions!
Anyway, if I could offer a little unsolicited advice, I’d highly recommend doing a quick inventory check of your venue's facilities before the big day arrives. It’s just much better to have a general idea of what kind of shape everything is in before your guests—and let's be honest, sometimes they act like a herd of elephants—come stomping through the halls... (I mean, you aren't going to go poking around in every dark corner, obviously, but a broad overview certainly wouldn't hurt!)

Hey there... I wanted to pick your brains for a second...😁
Has anyone here actually gone wedding dress shopping in a city like Miami or maybe San Diego? I'm trying to figure out if I need to schedule appointments in advance or if I can just show up whenever I feel like it... 😁 Since I don't get down that way very often, my original plan was to just make a whirlwind trip—hit every boutique in one go, see everything, and then put a deposit down on my favorite find at the end of the day. 😛 But now I'm hearing whispers about all this mandatory appointment stuff... does anyone actually know how it works? 😉

If several women have already announced they’re coming and have booked their slots, don't expect to find any openings left to squeeze yourself into. That's why you make a reservation early...

I bought mine down there and definitely had an appointment. Honestly, your best bet is to call ahead and set a time. Tell them roughly what kind of style you're looking for so they can actually have things ready for you to try on. You can handle the whole scheduling thing over the phone; you don't necessarily have to go in person just to make the booking.

Since we’re touching on the Midwest—which doesn't pop up here all that often—I was wondering: where can I actually rent a wedding tent? Just for the backyard portion of things... you know, in case the weather decides to turn?

And... does anyone have any solid recommendations for getting invitations printed?

We ended up renting from some local vendor over near the high school—I think it was on one of those streets near the vocational center. We grabbed one big tent, a pavilion, and all the tables and benches.
They’re great, honestly. Really nice quality. The best part is you don't have to seal them off completely; you can adjust the sides however you want depending on the breeze.
As for invitations, I haven't even started looking yet. Since we're planning this out of town, I haven't checked the local shops here. We were actually thinking about checking out a specialized print shop over in Chicago.
The prices seemed fair, and they look sharp. Just Google that print shop and you'll see what I mean...

How much did you end up paying to rent your tent??? I already checked out that gallery in Indy and they actually look pretty good... I'll probably go with them since there isn't much worth seeing in New Orleans...
Thanks!!!🙂

Don't even mention it! It’s great to see some people from the Midwest around here, and don't even get me started on all those folks from shipyards back home.😍
I'll shoot you a DM later; I need to check with my mom, 😂, because I honestly can't remember what we ended up paying. Once I touch base with her, I'll let you know.
Anyway, I'll tell you this: I used to absolutely loathe those cheap pop-up tents, but honestly, you have to set them up just to deal with the weather. You never know when a storm is going to roll in out of nowhere. But looking at this setup? I was actually pleasantly surprised. It's actually going to make the backyard look way better, especially with that pavilion 😍
blah, blah, blah 😂
Anyway, I'll hit you up in your inbox later...

Shoot me a DM with the price for those watches—I’m not based in San Francisco, but I’m close enough in the Midwest to make it work.
Just give me an address, a phone number, or even just an email—whatever contact info you have for the company. Anything works.
Thanks.

Does anyone have any recommendations or contact info for local musicians? I'm looking for people who can play unplugged—basically just some talent to perform at the venue itself since they won't be traveling to my place.
Also, what kind of budget should I set aside for this? I'm thinking maybe a small band or even just a solo act.

I don't know much about the band, though I think our guys just have some dude who plays along at home.
Can anyone tell me which band you actually booked and what venue you used?

I've got my wedding coming up on October 3rd. It’s being held at the White House, and the Bravo band is playing. I'm actually heading out to hunt for a wedding dress next month...

My guys are a Bravo band... they aren't folk musicians. They play just about everything except the traditional stuff. Since my fiancé is a rocker at heart, why would we want anything else?

They snatched them away too😍
And it’s for the exact same reason—they don't want anyone getting any bright ideas about ordering some traditional😉

...I'm such a klutz... does anyone know how to fix the timestamp on my post? It keeps jumping two hours ahead of me like it's on some weird schedule
