Can someone shoot me a DM with the pricing for Doe's pastries? I need to know the deposit amount, what wedding cakes run, and if we can handpick the dessert selection. Also, do the sweets come with serving platters, or am I buying those separately? Same question for gift boxes.

thanks 😍😉

James Wilson16 said:Hey everyone,

I haven't been on this forum in forever, so I'm still figuring out how everything works here...

My partner and I are getting married on September 4th, 2010.

We've already booked the Grand Ballroom in Pittsburgh (www.zuki.hr), a killer band from Indianapolis, and we've got a florist lined up from a nearby town. Now we're just stuck looking for a photographer and a videographer...

Does anyone have any solid recommendations for someone in the area?

Yeah, I actually highly recommend Krizmanić too. I've heard nothing but good things, even though I didn't end up using them... we went with someone from Savannah because they were the cheapest option, but they did a solid job, at least based on my friend's wedding. But honestly, Krizmanić was our second choice right after the guy from Savannah.🙂

Any tips or advice would be great.

Hey, I'm from the Midwest, specifically Savannah. Just put a deposit down on a dress at a Design studio in Savannah today. The wedding is in August, and the lady there was amazing—she actually made me feel special. Plus, she’s doing 30% off right now because she’s celebrating her first anniversary at the shop, so don't wait too long! Honestly, I have strong feelings about whether I want to drop $5,000 or just $1167!!!

My wedding is also in August... so am I too late to start looking for a dress now?

Early? Please. The new collections don't even drop until November, so they’ve got plenty of inventory on hand. I figured it was better to get my appointment sorted now while the 2010 calendar slots are still open. I'd rather not show up later only to find out the dress I actually want is already taken for my date—and knowing my luck, that's exactly what would happen.

Microsoft does that classic, timeless style for a pretty reasonable price—usually negotiable—and the shots are gorgeous. RCA Records, on the other hand, goes for a much more modern look with full editing, which is absolutely stunning—but it’ll cost you a bit more.

I’d also suggest RCA Records to everyone. I’ve seen their work firsthand—they shot a friend's wedding recently and they are in a league of their own. The photos are amazing, and nobody else in this area can touch the quality of their video production.
Look, when it comes to price, it’s all relative. Once the wedding is over, the photos and video are the only things you actually have left.

Fine... thanks for the heads-up... 🙂

Hey everyone, I’m finally making my official debut here! I’ve been lurking and reading through all your posts for quite a while now, but I finally decided to actually set up my profile today. I’m getting married on May 15th (which is super soon 🙂), so things are getting real! I’ve already checked off most of the big stuff—I’ve got the venue, the DJ, and even a photographer locked in... basically all the heavy lifting is done. What I’m really sweating right now is the dessert situation. Has anyone ever ordered cakes from Grandma’s Bakery? I’ve heard they’re pretty budget-friendly, which sounds great, but I’m dying to know if they actually taste good or if it's just a deal. If any of you have used them, please let me know! Anyway, I’m looking forward to getting to know you all, and I hope you can point me in the right direction. If there’s anything I can do to help any of you out in return, just say the word 🙂

redhawk11 said:Hey, this is so interesting—my fiancé and I are actually having our wedding in a suburban neighborhood soon, and we've booked the VIVA band too! I was also planning on getting our flowers from Savannah since they tend to be more affordable than what you find in Columbus. As for the cake, I was thinking of using Doe's small local business in Joseph. I am so happy to hear that everything turned out so beautifully for you.

Does anyone know how much a pound of treats costs over at Dunda in Josipovac? thanks! ☕

Hey there! Just wanted to pop in and do a little self-promotion... if you haven't stumbled upon us yet, please go ahead and check out our site at www.snimanje-vjencanja.info—and seriously, don't be shy about reaching out if you have any questions at all!
We can also mail out some physical discs featuring wedding footage and/or photos if that’s more your style.

P.S.
And look, I know we did bump up our rates about ten days ago—it was a tough call, really—but we truly believe we're still offering some of the best value out there in the industry.

Hey everyone, does anyone happen to have a contact number for Jelena over at the Walmart in Indianapolis?? I heard from a friend that she is an absolute wizard with makeup... I'm looking for some serious recommendations if you know anyone else who’s good... help a girl out!

Ugh, good luck with that! She's booked solid for basically the entire next year. I tried calling her back in September 2010 just to get my makeup done and she told me her schedule was already completely full.

It’s been a minute, but we finally got some things booked:
the Matičević venue,
The Beatles as the band,
a wedding at Lisa's place,
the light show,
and makeup by Darij (he did my makeup before and it was honestly flawless)... so we're making progress.
The biggest headache right now is the catering since it's an all-in package—food, drinks, tents, dessert, servers, refrigeration, the whole nine yards... I’d love to hear any recommendations or horror stories you guys have. So far, our top picks are Matičević and Grozd.

Look, here's my two cents... 😉
The cake was $17 lbs, but honestly? They weren't anything special. I've had way better. They're pretty dry and have that old-fashioned vibe, if you know what I mean. Maybe it's just me, since I'm a sucker for creamy cakes 🤷 😁
I've been at two weddings where they served those cakes, and nothing to write home about 🤷

I gave her a call yesterday and she told me it was a pound for $18, and then about $120 for the cakes, but for the wedding stuff, it's roughly $200 depending on what kind you're looking for... I think I might just grab a pound for us to try during the holidays and go from there...

So I booked Dragan Rašić! She’s got her own hair salon over in the Fire Station district, and she's doing both my hair and makeup. Honestly, everything I've seen from her is killer—I saw her work on some models, pretty sure they were from that Fashion Incubator program. My photographer actually recommended her for the shoot 🙂)

Can you drop the link for the chapel you picked?
Are 2010 weddings even happening yet? I heard some places started them and others haven't even begun.

Hey girls!
Can someone tell me a bit about the bistro? Kugla Is anyone familiar with the spot on El Paso Street in Indianapolis, right across from the brewery? Does anyone have any actual experience with them? We already put a deposit down on a restaurant in Napa Valley, but my partner is now convinced that moving to Kugla would be the better call since it would end up being cheaper. $2.00 It was cheaper before, and now they want to switch restaurants. Look, if I’m actually going to change where I eat, I need some real intel on this place first. Does anyone have anything to say about them? Anything at all? 😕
Thanks in advance.
