John Ramirez10 said:e, yeah, I’ve got one more question. Does anyone know where I can find Maggie Sotero wedding dresses in Cleveland?😕

I don't think they have any in Cleveland. As far as I know, the closest ones would be over in Pittsburgh.

I heard Isabelle's Salon used to carry Maggie Sotero, but I don't think they stock it anymore. Anyone else noticed?

Just joined the group and hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.
Does anyone know where I can snag those floating candles? Ideally looking for a bulk pack or something... need quite a few.
I swung by Vegas earlier, but honestly, it was kind of a letdown.

I'm looking for floating candles too. I originally picked up a 25-pack at the subway for about $10.. They're out of stock right now, though. No idea why. 🤷 However, I managed to order the exact same ones from an acquaintance in Naperville for a better price. Here's the link so you can see what she offers, but you'll have to contact her directly for pricing (you can just email her if you don't want to call). Don't let the basic website discourage you; her husband hasn't really gotten around to finishing the design yet. 😉
www.deko-phantasy.com

On another note, I saw some floating candles over at Paraffin... that's on Vine Street (Green Field) in Cleveland.
Oh, also... I walked through IKEA today. They had a similar 25-pack for about $5, but I think they only had white and champagne colors. I didn't check for other options, but maybe they have more...
Anyway, hope this helps. Best.

The subway in Cleveland had them at a pretty good price, though I'm not sure if they're still in stock.
I'm definitely heading to Paraffin products for my candles!

Thanks so much, ladies! I was thinking about putting some glass bowls on the tables with those candles. I checked out one shop where a single candle is almost $1.25, which means the whole display setup would run me about $13... I was kind of hoping it might be cheaper if I just put it all together myself.

It'll definitely be cheaper—I'm doing the same thing because it saves me half the cost. And honestly, $1.25 is just insane for a single floating candle.

Seriously, does anyone actually let people smoke inside the venue?

My in-laws are having their big bash over at Copeland, and even though we booked the whole place out for a private party, the management is still breathing down my neck saying guests can't smoke indoors. Like, hello? It’s a private event!

What's the deal where you guys are? Is it just me?

My wedding is in September... and it looks like smoking won't be allowed on-site... (at least that's what the venue owners told us)
My fiancé and I don't smoke, but I’d still love for it to be an option just for my guests... I really wouldn't want half the party stuck outside the whole time😢

Hey everyone,

Does anyone know where I can pick up those large white ribbons for car decor? I’m looking for the wide ones that just drape down the center, making them super easy to tie onto the rearview mirror. I remember seeing them at a shop in Indianapolis once, but that place closed down near $0.66. I checked the Subway in Chicago, but the cashier there told me they usually carry them leading up to Christmas, but never after. Does anyone know where I can find these types of ribbons—specifically around the Indianapolis area—and what the going rate is per piece?

Thanks and cheers,

You can find those killer hair bows at Vigor in VK, but they're way cheaper out in the Canada Corridor. $2.75 It’s a 10-pack. Since I bought mine there, Vigor is really the only place I know about.

Thanks, rapidfox42. Honestly, though, I wouldn't bother with Vigor—I don't even get my balloon decor from them. I'll just send my mom to the Corridor since there isn't anything closer. 🙂
Hey ladies... just in case anyone needs this info—just an FYI.
I found some white tablecloths at the Subway that fit high, round bar tables perfectly—the ones I'm planning to have out in the yard when the groom arrives. They're $21 each.

Best,

Here’s some useful info for anyone who missed the wedding expo in Pampas. For limo rentals, check out www.limousine-pale.com. Regarding dessert, the cheapest option I found was at Čačić Bakery ( www.cacic-bakery.com) where a tray with 1kg of sweets costs $17, or you can get cakes from Babina Greda (032/ 854-846) where 1kg goes for $18, or specialty cakes from $40, and wedding cakes starting from $200... Then there's flowers. Stella Florist in Des Moines is great—the lady there is super nice. I asked about the price for a classic daisy arrangement on a tall stand with a candle (I checked everywhere just to compare prices), and it's $8.25 for a small one and $17 for a larger size. They also have offers for high glass stands, cocktail glasses, and stuff like that with floating candles, pebbles, and flowers; prices range from $6.75 to $13 depending on what blooms you pick. They have all sorts of other things too... thank you cards, invitations, confetti, balloon decor, custom bottle labeling, linen rentals, tablecloths, napkins, trays, candles, and those DIY photo albums where you stick the pictures in yourself (the white ones with your names on them are $67) which look really cool. One thing I actually liked were the little chocolates they use as favors—they print your names, the date, and a thank you on the wrapper. Pretty original idea, and the price is $0.67/piece... good if you don't want to give out a photo as a favor! Anyway... hope this helps someone out. 🙂

Hey everyone,
Has anyone here heard of or—better yet—actually hired Bear Photo Studio out of Copeland for weddings?
If you have, how was your experience with their work?
Thanks

Thanks for the heads up! I actually stopped by Isabelle Salon today and they told me they don't have Maggie Sotero in stock anymore... guess I'll have to make the trip out to Slavonian Brod instead.

If you’re hunting for some flowers, honestly, just head over to Des Moines. Hit up Palm Florist! Prices are super reasonable, and the lady running the place is just awesome. She’s got tons of great ideas and won't try to upsell you on the priciest stuff just to make a buck.
I also used Graphic Arts for some invitations recently, and I gotta say... I wasn't exactly thrilled. Don't get me wrong, the invites themselves look gorgeous, but the pricing situation was a mess. They gave me one quote, then when it came time to actually settle up, they hit me with a totally different number. It was like dealing with hidden sales tax or something. Look, I don't really care about the breakdown, just tell me the bottom line upfront so I know what I'm paying for the damn invitation.

I heard somewhere that if you post a guest list on the door and mark it as a private event, you might be able to get away with letting people smoke inside. Honestly, I don't know if that's legit or where you'd even check... we aren't allowed to smoke indoors either.

Is it actually difficult to track down wedding supplies—you know, things like boutonnieres, table runners, candles, and the rest—along the Midwest corridor? I’ve only been out that way once in my life, and I honestly don't recall seeing anything like that available nearby!

I used mini Sprite bottles, but I definitely didn't leave them looking like that! I spray-painted them white and topped them with green tulle and a little white rose—my wedding theme was strictly white and green. To top it off, I ordered custom pearl-style toppers instead of regular caps... they looked absolutely stunning!

Where on earth did you order those caps from, and what did they run you? Also, if it’s not too much trouble, could you please post a photo? 🙂 No pressure, really, but I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect caps ☕ since my color scheme is also white and green... I was originally hoping to find tiny cork stoppers, but I have no clue where to track those down... and I've never even heard of those pearl ones, so I'm dying to see how they turned out. Thanks in advance!😁

That only works if the venue is strictly for the wedding party... but since Kopika is a restaurant, that's not gonna fly.

I hit up two weddings last fall. The first one was at the Lockheed Martin hotel over in White Plains, and they wouldn't let anyone smoke until after dinner—then the servers just brought out ashtrays and everyone went for it. The second wedding was over in Zelenkrov, and they didn't allow smoking at all! Most of the guests ended up hanging out outside the venue instead.
