Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows about any traditional Midwest weddings happening around May 2010? Honestly, even if it's June, July, or August, that would be totally fine too. I'm looking for something in the Midwest where they do those massive backyard farm weddingsโ€”you know, the kind with over 500 people, lasting several days, complete with horse-drawn carriages and just an absolute blast of a party. I realize those kinds of huge, old-school celebrations aren't really a thing much anymore, but if you happen to know of any, please let me know! I actually need this for a TV show I'm working on, so I am seriously begging you here. If you don't know of any, maybe you could point me toward someone who might?
Thanks so much ๐Ÿ™‚

Iโ€™ve been thinking about adding a light show to the wedding, but Iโ€™m really not sure if itโ€™ll clash with the live folk band... what do you guys think?
I stumbled upon this listing online, so Iโ€™m probably gonna give them a call to see what the deal is.

Does anyone happen to know exactly what kind of performance they actually put on?

Look, I actually hired this guy for my wedding back on September 26th and I was beyond happy. I paid $333 but then he bumped it up to 1500... the effects were totally fine, despite people acting like they won't be able to see anything through all the smoke and lights. Trust me, it looks way more intense on video than it does in person. For me, it was awesome. The guy is a total pro; he stays seated all night and watches everything, even cleaning up the floor under the bubble machine so nobody slips and falls. ๐Ÿ‘ I'm super satisfied ๐Ÿ‘

gentledriver92 said:Hey, huge congratulations! I'm so glad everything went smoothly for you... Could you please let me know about the band? (If I remember right, Victor was playing?) How were they? Did they take a lot of breaks, and what time did they wrap up? ๐Ÿ˜ thanks so much!

Thanks a lot. ๐Ÿ™‚
I haven't been on the forum in a while, so sorry it took me this long to get back to you. You know, marriage tends to decrease the need for computer time (at least for me). ๐Ÿ˜
Hmm... Victor... well, here's the deal. My friends from St. Louis had already heard Victor play before, so they thought he was alright. For his guests from the Midwest, the suburbs, or even out of state, this was their first time seeing him, and they were absolutely thrilled. Rot knows how to set a mood. Heโ€™s a great entertainer and everyone had a good laugh. The setlist was strictly for funโ€”not a single country song in sight. Personally, I thought they were great, though (in my opinion) they took a few unnecessary breaks. I think there were about five in total, but don't quote me on that since I didn't have a camera to count them. They played until about 4:30 AM.
I wasn't a big fan of the guitarist (the band leader)... he seemed a bit indecisive. But the singer was awesome; he's perfect for keeping the party going and always has wild ideas to entertain the guests. From guest sing-alongs to dancing with people in his arms, to eating cake without using hands... at our place, he asked if any retirees wanted to join in, and one of my mom's friends rushed over thinking she might win a prize. She ended up having to dance in the circle all by herself. We were dying laughing. ๐Ÿ˜‚
To wrap it all up, my overall take on their performance was ๐Ÿ‘

Iโ€™m not exactly an expert when it comes to using Imgur, so forgive me if I messed anything up, but you should be able to see some photos from my wedding at this link. If they aren't working, then I'm truly ๐Ÿคท

Thanks so much. A woman from a small town in the US (maybe near a small town in the US, I can't quite remember...) made the hats for me. She's a family friend. They were wonderful and really sturdy. My dad also picked up about ten other pieces from a lady at a rest stop on the highway. But the ones from that small town in the US were much nicer.
The church is downtown in Indianapolis. It's the beautiful Holy Mary's name cathedral.

Yeah, Audrey Hepburn did the flowers. Everything looked beautiful to me. Hey, which church are you talking about? Is it that one... downtown in Chicago..?! ๐Ÿ™‚

Does anyone know of a decent tent rental service out here in the Midwest? Iโ€™m looking for something large enough to accommodate about 50 people.

Greetings! I was wondering if any of the ladies here have tried the pastries from that small town, USA? I canโ€™t quite recall the owner's name, but the bakery is called Catherine. Any thoughts or reviews?
Tnx

I'd love to, but I don't have a single one left. The guests took everythingโ€”the hats, the decorated bottles, even the bourbon. ๐Ÿ™‚

Iโ€™ve ordered from them before. To be honest, I didn't actually get to taste any of the individual pastries that day (wasn't really feeling sweets then), but the wedding cake looked beautiful. The top tier was a White Wedding flavor and I thought it was excellent. People who did try the pastries said they were delicious, almost homemade... and they mentioned the other cake tiers were great too. I can't speak for myself personally since I didn't taste them, but that's what people told me while we were going through photos and gathering feedback. ๐Ÿ˜‰
If you ask me, Iโ€™d order from her again, though Iโ€™d pay closer attention to the portion sizes and the size of the serving plates next time.
