Melissa Sanchez59 said:I honestly don't get all this talk about Mirzaten. I've been on Calixta for eight days now, and it actually knocked me out on the first day—period. But then Thursday afternoon hit, and this insane anxiety just took over. I took my 15 mg Calixta and 0.5 mg Seroxat in the evening, but an hour or two later, everything felt even worse. I knew I had to be up for work in the morning, and I was spiraling thinking about how tomorrow would be a total disaster if I couldn't sleep. Usually, I’ll just take another 0.5 mg of quick-acting Seroxat to calm down eventually, but this felt unbearable, so I figured I'd just take some Ambien to, I don't know, basically pass out quickly and be done with it. I took 10 mg of Ambien, laid down, and spent the next hour tossing and turning in bed until I realized I wasn't going to sleep at all. I ended up getting up to light... a candle, I guess? I felt a little woozy, but I was wide awake and still feeling anxious. Eventually, I just put on a movie and somehow, finally, managed to settle down and drift off... HOW? 🙂

I'm currently hunting down every single thing I can find about Mirzaten because I'm switching back to it tonight. :/
I have no idea how it's going to hit me this time. I'm dealing with desperate anxiety and I'm deep in a depressive hole right now, but I know that in the past, during similar stretches, Mirzaten always managed to get me to sleep. Well, with a few exceptions... My main priority right now is fixing this depression, which I didn't really have while on Mirzaten, even though my anxiety was pretty bad then. But ever since I stopped taking it, everything has just gone downhill fast...

If it worked well for you before, maybe it'll do the trick again this time 🙂

That sounds almost too optimistic. 😉
You know that feeling... when everything is so heavy you're convinced it’s just permanent, like nothing is ever going to change again? My anxiety just spikes the second I start wondering if the AD won't actually kick in this time. :/

I think we all feel that way sometimes—but at least you aren't starting from zero this time. Maybe just try to remember that it worked before! 😉

You aren't alone in this; I feel the exact same way, and I'm actually heading back to an AD that worked wonders for me a few years ago. It just feels like the panic attacks are hitting harder lately, leaving me in this constant state of tension and dread. I'm just praying that this phase passes too. Good luck with your AD—we're going to be okay, we have to be!

VELOFAX

I'm looking for some honest feedback on this medication;
specifically, how long did it take before you actually felt something? Does it tend to cause nausea, dizziness, or drowsiness, and if so, for how long does that phase last?
Has it actually helped manage depression for anyone here—and if so, when did the shift happen—and how does it hold up against anxiety?

thanks

It has to improve. Things can't stay this dark forever... 😢

And then there's all these medications... I swear, ever since I stopped taking them, I feel more depressed than I did before I ever started the first round... it's like a cycle that won't end.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I'm crossing my fingers for you and hoping your treatment holds steady. Keep us posted, okay? Mostly. 🙂

I think I understand exactly what you mean; right now, I feel completely incapable of handling even the smallest tasks. Of course, I'll be checking back in—you guys aren't getting rid of me that easily. 😉 You too, please reach out. It always feels a little lighter when we can vent to one another and, God willing, share some wins along the way.😉

Hey everyone, does anyone here have experience with which AT&T medications actually work for anxiety? If you've tried something, please let me know... the more perspectives I get, the better. Thanks!

Hopefully we'll have something worth celebrating soon! 😍

One more time, though... anyone have experience with Citalopram? Ideally if you've been getting it through CVS or something similar.

First off, it’s spelled Velafax, not velofax. I’ve been on it for a few years now and honestly, I wouldn't trade it for anything. It hasn't given me any side effects at all, and it pretty much wiped out my depression and anxiety. Though, if a panic attack does sneak up on me once in a while, I'll just pop a Xanax and that usually does the trick...
I started out on the standard 37.5 mg dose, taking two pills every morning for about two years. Then, about a year ago, things got a bit rougher, so my doctor switched me to the 150 mg XR version. Now I just take one in the morning and I am beyond happy with it.
I’ve been on antidepressants since 2006 and I’ve cycled through at least a dozen different ones, but I can finally say Velafax is the one that actually saved me...
I also take 2.5 mg of Zyprexa at night, which totally fixed my insomnia.
I feel amazing!

First day after last night's Mirage. I can't really say it "hit me" quite as hard as it used to. 😢 Though, honestly, maybe that's just because I’m feeling pretty rough right now... :/
Managed about three hours of solid sleep, then another five with those weird, disjointed naps and nonsensical dreams. Feeling a bit dizzy today.
I'm supposed to start my initial dose of Prozac today, too. But I think I'll hold off. Might be a bit much for my system to handle all at once. 😢

It should turn out fine; you really have to give your body some grace and time to adjust to all these different chemicals we're introducing. 😉

Yeah... honestly, my system barely recovered from the last round of nonsense and now we're back at square one. 🙂))
The other day—my doctor actually asks me, "What on earth are you doing to yourself?"

Hopefully things settle down soon. Thanks for the support. 🙂

Haha, well, that’s about the gist of it, isn't it? 🙂 We're all facing our own versions of the same struggles, more or less. I'm currently on day eight, and I still feel pretty terrible...
And please know, I am always here if you need any support too! 🙂

So far I've knocked back 13 Cipralex pills—7 halves and 6 wholes—and honestly, the side effects are finally starting to chill out. Now I'm just stuck waiting for that "magic" moment when it actually kicks in. 🙂

The only real headache is that I’ve been leaning way harder on my Xanax. It was a total nightmare trying to get down to 4x0.25mg, but now I’m up to 5 or 6 doses instead of staying at 4. 😢
I was actually hoping I could taper off the Xanax once the AT&T meds kicked in, but instead, I'm just taking more of it. 😠

That isn't great—usually, as you start feeling the effects of the antidepressant, your symptoms should ease up, which would naturally lower your need for anxiolytics.
Are you planning on starting psychotherapy?

Once the AT&T medication fully takes effect, you'll find yourself tapering down those doses little by little.
For me, 0.25mg doesn't really do much right now, whereas 0.5mg knocks me right out. Even so, I don't feel like it's fully settling my nerves. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the Paxil kicks in soon.

I’m just asking again because it feels like I’ve been completely ghosted here. Seriously, people, I need some help over here.
