So, it’s actually available? Yay! 🙂 Does it knock you out as hard as Seroquel, or is it a bit more mellow (if anyone here has actually tried the first one)?

Honestly, I'm taking a whole handful of different meds these days, so it's getting a little hard to keep track of which one does what. 🤣

But from what I can tell, it feels a bit more uplifting than Seroquel... 🤔

Ugh... weight gain... 🙂
I think I definitely packed on the pounds because of the Mirzaten, mostly because I noticed my appetite just went through the roof after starting it. Now, I’ve kind of adjusted and don't even feel that hungry anymore... well, almost. Like, I barely eat anything at all. But the scale? It just won't budge. It's just sitting there, right where I don't want it.
Maybe it was the Mirzaten, maybe it was the Q-pin... who knows, really...
The weight is also a huge struggle for me. I used to be so thin, but now, I've definitely filled out.
And honestly, being heavier just makes me even more miserable. When I'm heading to bed, before the meds even kick in, I find myself obsessing over my weight. Especially my stomach—it feels so huge. It's just gross.
It's such a weird cycle. I take these pills to help me sleep, but they make me gain weight, and then I can't sleep because I'm constantly worrying about how much weight I've gained. Kind of ironic, isn't it? 🙂

It doesn't really help with sleep at all—at least not for me. Plus, it's indicated as an antidepressant, so it can actually be kind of stimulating. You might even run into some insomnia issues right when you start... you'll probably need
something to help you crash. It kicks in pretty fast, though. Good luck 🙂

shadowbear9 said:It seems like Seroquel caused weight gain for me too, I guess. But I am certainly not going to reject it as a treatment option because, for once, I am actually sleeping normally. Besides, there isn't anyone in my life right now that I would care to look good for anyway. I only eat twice a day—early in the morning (IF I EVEN GET OUT OF BED), usually two crackers and maybe three donuts, and that’s it. Other than that, I eat vegetables, so there is no way that's making me gain weight. I've been on birth control for three years and it hasn't changed my weight at all; it is just the Seroquel. Regardless, I sacrificed so much just to get prescribed this, so I am sticking with it... even if I get fat. Honestly, my life doesn't exactly have some grand higher purpose right now anyway...

Why would you say your life lacks a higher purpose? If that's the case, then what is the point of all these heavy-duty medications? Is it just to poison yourself, or is it to actually heal? To reach a point where you can start believing that life actually holds some kind of meaning?

Naturally, I’m looking for some insight. What should I be watching out for? Is weight gain really an issue, or what kind of side effects am I looking at? Does this actually help with anxiety? If anyone feels like sharing, I'd appreciate it...

I was on Lexapro for the last 3 months. At first, the side effects were brutal—massive panic attacks, basically felt just like when my issues first started up 14 years ago.

Eventually, the panic subsided and I’d say it was okay... Not like "I can fly" amazing where I'd praise it nonstop, but I could function normally. Like, I could drive, get to work, and handle a 9-hour shift that requires 100% focus and a brain that isn't totally fried.

Then I had to stop cold turkey because I'm pregnant (as of 11 days ago) and oh my god, I feel like absolute trash.

Brian Young5 said:Here’s the real kicker: the meds saved my life. They stabilized me, and honestly, I haven't been this calm or happy in years. But now, the weight gain is kicking in and dragging me straight back into depression. So, what’s the move? It feels like one of those damn vicious cycles.

I want to actually live my life, not just hide away at home. And I can't just sit here and swallow the intense shame of showing up looking like a completely different person.

Back when I was hitting rock bottom mentally, I was dropping a pound a day. My coworkers who struggle with their weight were actually jealous of me, while I was sitting there envying them for having a sane head on their shoulders.
Once I started the antidepressants, my appetite eventually came roaring back, and yeah, the pounds came with it. I guess I'm a little bit "thicker" now—got some solid arms, a bit of a double chin, and a belly that I'm currently masking with oversized t-shirts 👏
But hey, I'd take an extra 20 pounds over being that walking skeleton who couldn't stop shaking in bed and was too terrified to even step outside.
In my book, being beautiful means having a smile on your face and some peace of mind. That beats being skinny and looking completely twisted from anxiety any day of the week. 🎉

Alright, let me break down what’s going on with me 🙂

I was taking Celexa, but once I found out I was pregnant about 12 days ago, I just stopped cold turkey.

My psychiatrist is suggesting St. John's Wort, maybe one Xanax a day.

The thing is, I feel like absolute crap. On top of the vomiting and dizziness, I'm starting to deal with this weird derealization feeling and even some panic attacks.

Look, I'm obviously not looking for a prescription from anyone here—I know this forum is just for swapping stories and getting some support (leave the medical stuff to the doctors), but does anyone have any actual experience or thoughts on using St. John's Wort while pregnant?

Thanks. 🙂

I’ve been on Celexa for about a month and a half now, and honestly, I’m not really feeling any noticeable benefits yet—the depression feels just as heavy as it did before I started. How much longer does it typically take before you actually start seeing some real changes?
Is it possible that it could take three or even four months to really kick in?

You really need to stay on it consistently for about 6 to 8 weeks. If you still aren't feeling better by then, that's when you talk to your doctor about switching medications...

As a man, I can't speak from firsthand experience, but several women close to me have dealt with similar struggles during pregnancy. While antidepressants aren't typically the first line of defense, you have to find a balance so you don't lose your mind. I would strongly suggest consulting either your OB-GYN or a mental health professional before making any decisions. That said, I believe there are certain medications, like Normabel, that are considered safe for pregnant women. I’m just not sure about the specific dosage or how frequently it should be taken.
I am telling you, if that herbal remedy doesn't do the trick, then we're truly out of options.

I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place for this kind of thing—it just felt like the closest fit—so here goes...

From a medical perspective, how normal is it to go over a year without catching even a common cold, let alone the flu? It’s been freezing lately, and we’ve had rain hitting the windows seemingly non-stop...
The only time my nose actually runs is when I'm crying 🙄
(That's aside from my chronic headaches—though everyone tells me it's just stress 🤔 since all my lab results come back perfectly fine)
The people in my household get sick a few times a year, which seems totally standard given immune drops and stuff like that...
But what about me? It just feels a little bit strange 🙂

If anyone else has run into something similar, or if you've experienced this yourself, I'd really appreciate it if you could share

They hand out Dalmane at the local hospital as one of those pills to help you come down from the dopamine rush, or after dealing with heavy opioids. You take it right before bed, like ten minutes before hitting the sheets. They rarely prescribe Vanval in the States. It’s super addictive though, really strong stuff, and the street price is about $67 for a box of 10. If anyone happens to know anything or has some Duragesic patches, could you shoot me a DM? Thanks much

That’s just wonderful. I’m sure my anesthesiologist will be absolutely thrilled to hear that I was officially on Dalmane for a full year due to chronic insomnia. Still, I trust they’ll find a way to knock me out. They have to. I suppose that is just how they handle addicts—treating everything with such clinical indifference, isn't it?

restlesstrucker15, are you saying you didn't realize how Dalmane works before surgery?😲
Don't sweat it—they'll put you out like a baby. Just make sure you're upfront with the anesthesiologist about every single pill you've taken; I'm pretty sure you already know that part.😉

Perhaps... I don't know—I was quite fragile during my childhood, to be honest.
Someone pointed out to me that my situation actually has psychological roots—basically, I don't allow myself the luxury of getting sick because I'm constantly buried under work deadlines—it’s that classic perfectionism trap.
I feel like my mental health struggles—it’s a real uphill battle—are honestly keeping me from making any real progress in life. 🤔
Who might have more insight... but thanks anyway. 😉
