My third period came on day 28 of the previous one, so March 1st (my cycles are usually pretty much 28 days), and it was heavier than the last two. It's still going, though it's winding down now.

But what's really messing with my head is that my lower stomach is still so bloated! Mind you, everything I eat sticks to my stomach (I'm naturally thin), so maybe that's why????

What I actually want to know is: has this happened to anyone else? Getting pregnant without actual sex (I've never slept with my boyfriend...), but where sperm gets pushed in via fingers,
plus having three periods and a negative test???? 😢 😢 😢 😢 😢

I am losing my mind here and I need help! I already posted in the "Am I pregnant" thread, but nobody really gave me any clarity, and since you guys here actually have experience with pregnancy...

(Also, my labia look a little wider and kind of rough—could that be from the fingering, like they stretched during the "contact"?)

Please help me because I'm seriously stressed out. Honestly, the thought of taking another test and finding out the worst makes me feel sick. I'm young, I'm in college, and I have really conservative parents, so this situation is definitely not ideal. 😢 😢 😢 😢 😢

Unfortunately, yeah... there was someone on this forum once... what was her name... Trollsella or something... she got pregnant the exact same way and now she’s having triplets. 😍😍😍

Look, since you're already in college, maybe crack open a high school biology textbook and go through the basics: menstruation, sperm, ovulation, intercourse, pregnancy..
Then maybe $10 take another test, chill out, and stay away from sex, "fingering" ( 🙂 ), and the internet for a while.

Did I expect to become the internet's favorite laughingstock? Honestly, yeah... because even to me, this whole situation feels absolutely ridiculous.

But seriously, once the panic sets in—and then I start Googling symptoms that sound *exactly* like what I’m going through—it's hard not to spiral. Like, my stomach feels bloated, there’s this weird metallic taste in my mouth, and during my last few cycles, I had zero appetite and felt like food was just getting stuck in my throat. Plus, I’ve been peeing constantly (still am!), and my discharge was acting super weird right before my period—kind of a nasty yellow color. On top of all that, for two out of my last three periods, my breasts started aching a week or two beforehand, which is something I don't ever remember happening. So, how am I supposed to *not* jump straight to pregnancy?
I mean, it sounds totally insane that I’d be pregnant when my periods have always been a steady 6 or 7 days with the usual cramps. And isn't it true that pregnancy bleeding is usually way shorter and lighter?

Still, what kind of statistical anomaly do you have to be to be pregnant without actually having sex, especially after three periods and a negative test... ugh, I don't even know... or maybe I just picked up some random bug or infection?

Alright, here’s another one that’s left me scratching my head.

I’m expecting my period in about three days, but I’ve been feeling totally off lately, so I decided to take a pregnancy test. It came back positive. However, my blood work just came back with a beta level under 1. Is it actually possible for a home test to give a false positive?

It feels to me like you might have had some biochemistry issues going on, though honestly, if it was under 1 beta, I’m not entirely sure... was the second line actually dark, or just a bit lighter than the control line?

As far as I know, no. It can only be a false negative, and even then, that’s usually only if conception happened later than expected and there just isn't enough hormone buildup yet to trigger a positive result on the test..

A test can show positive without there actually being a pregnancy... In my last cycle, I had one turn up positive five days before my period was even due. I ran a few more tests just to be sure... all of them came back positive. My period was only a day late when I took this specific test, and this time it showed negative. I went ahead and got my blood work done too... the HCG level was only 4.06. Then I started bleeding on the second day.

The line was a bit lighter than usual, but nothing crazy... I’ve heard stories about false negatives, but after doing some reading, I’m honestly just feeling more confused than before.
On top of that, my breasts are killing me, I’ve had stomach cramps for a week straight, I feel lightheaded constantly, and there are just a million other little symptoms driving me nuts...
But if I’m being honest, I suspect it might have been a chemical pregnancy since the hCG levels would likely be higher...
Now, all I can do is wait. If things don't change in a week, I'll have to figure out my next move.

Of course a test can come back positive when there’s absolutely no pregnancy involved:

if you were on hormone therapy and ended up with a false alarm
if you're dealing with a chemical pregnancy
if it's an ectopic pregnancy
hCG acts as a tumor marker—God forbid, but that happens sometimes too

She mentioned earlier that the doctors at Mayo Clinic couldn't figure out why her hCG was positive despite not being pregnant. Well, look at Marko Strahija (the swimmer)—he tested positive on a doping test, but the reality was he actually had testicular cancer.

Your situation is genuinely baffling; having a minimal blood level while the urine test stays positive is weird, since those usually only trigger at much higher concentrations.
