Ah... that's always how it goes for me. I live in a tiny town and end up wanting something that girls living in Washington, D.C. or other major cities take for granted—you know, things that are just totally normal for them... 😢

I'm not sure where you're located, but almost all the women on this thread definitely do this kind of work—if you'd just say which part of the country you're in, I'm certain someone will reach out to you!

I guess I’m a bit of a perfectionist myself when it comes to wedding planning—I tend to obsess over every little detail because, to me, everything matters equally.
By the way, what was the issue with the sizing? Personally, I’ve always preferred bite-sized pastries; they just seem sweeter to me. There is so much work involved in cutting them down like that, though, so I suppose it isn't a huge deal either way.

If they were standard size at the wedding, these ones were twice as big. 😉 So, if they had just been cut in half, they would've been perfect. 🙂

I just stumbled upon this cake by total accident... now I’m sitting here kicking myself for not finding this around this time last year! 😁

Wow, this looks absolutely flawless 🙂
Does anyone happen to know the standard number of cookies one should offer guests? I’ve heard people suggest anywhere from 15 to 25, so I’m feeling a bit conflicted. Also, does anyone have recommendations on where to find the best deals on gift boxes? Thanks! 🙂

It really just comes down to what you personally want. We actually had some of those 5oz ones—the local candy shop picked up a few boxes for us.

Good grief, Arthur Thompson11!!! 😲
Is it actually okay if I just take this? Please? 🙂
My husband is going to absolutely lose his mind if he catches me with this... I don't know, I've changed my mind about it so many times already... 🤦

Go ahead... just like I said before—I’m honestly so bummed I didn't catch this photo around this time last year. 😢
Correction: We actually had about half a pound of cake in that little box...

The lady who handles our catering told us to pack about 10 to 14 cookies per box, which I think works out to roughly 8 to 10 ounces.
I suggested sticking with 12—that's definitely the sweet spot. 🤷

Thanks, Crazy. 🙂 It didn't occur to me to count the actual number of treats; I was just blindly focusing on the total weight.😁

We’re going to be serving a smaller batch of a classic Red Velvet cake. Since we have quite a few guests coming over, the main priority was ensuring there were enough varieties and plenty of servings.

We didn't bother weighing out the cookies—my mom and two others just hand-packed them into little boxes at the wedding reception.

So, which bakery did you order it from?

If you don't mind sharing, I'm dying to know how much a cake like that would cost here in the States? (And does anyone know roughly how many pounds it weighs?)

I am not entirely sure about the weight, but it is actually composed of 17 individual cakes. To ensure stability, the bottom layers will be something denser, like a chocolate fudge or a rich brownie style, while the top layers consist of creamier options—think Milka-style cakes, parfaits, or frozen mousse desserts. In total, we have 11 different varieties. I reached out to the premier local bakeries (comparable to Magnolia Bakery) and they sent over a quote for approximately $3333. A place called Millennium didn't even bother to respond to my inquiry, which honestly felt like too much drama and almost made me give up on the whole idea.

@roga27 where did you have yours made??

Since our wedding is being held at a vineyard and our chosen catering package already includes a wedding cake, we worked things out with them directly. The additional fee is $1500. My main concern is the stand, as it needs to be incredibly sturdy to support all that weight. Having it custom-made is quite expensive (or at least, that's what 😂 convinced me).
They assured me everything would turn out fine. We shall see. 😉

You really sold yourself short there... sorry, but seriously...

Making a wedding cake that looks exactly like the one Kate Middleton and Prince William had takes more than just a fancy stand... honestly... if you're going to a random local bakery that doesn't specialize in this kind of high-end work (and if it's cheap, then definitely don't expect much...), don't be surprised. Personally... I’d walk right into the shop and demand to see their portfolio of wedding cakes first...

If you actually want an identical replica that turns out perfect... Christian at Magnolia Bakery is the only person you should be talking to...

The price they quoted me for $1500—just to replicate the royal couple's cake—is a total joke. From what I've seen elsewhere, cakes like that can easily run up to $10,000.
Trying to get 17 different cakes plus a royal replica all for $4,500? I’m terrified they’ll cut corners somewhere or it'll end up looking like something a toddler whipped up in a kitchen...

I think Vince's offer is a lot more realistic.

So, did she actually say the cake was thrown in for free? If that's the case, the cost is already baked into the menu price, meaning they’re still being asked to shell out an extra $45 on top of that.

As for La Torteria... their pastries and cakes are notoriously pricey to begin with. I’m honestly curious how much he’d end up paying for that specific cake—I wouldn't be surprised if it clocked in well over $150.

Good morning, everyone.🙂

I’ve been there, I’ve seen it, and I’ve tasted it. I am more than satisfied with what they offered.
I'm certainly not foolish enough to throw $2667 😉 into the wind. The original royal cake was designed to serve 1,000 people; we are hosting 350. I’m not expecting a carbon copy. I am simply looking for a beautiful, scaled-down replica.
We are having a classic American Midwest wedding where having a wide variety of desserts is a must. The original plan was to have a separate table featuring various other cakes, but this option actually solves that problem for us. 😉

Hey ladies!

Has anyone here ever tried the cakes or pastries from the small house cake shop?
