I suspect Milton handles that. They have a list of retail locations on their site, so just give them a call and verify if they carry it.

Thanks, Daniel Smith8—I think I'll go ahead and track down some of their retail locations now. 🙂

I set up a tasting for some desserts over the phone, and everyone assured me it was fine. We drove through the entire suburbs of Chicago—passing places like local bakeries and specialty shops—but didn't get a single bite of anything. It’s ridiculous. Half the dessert shops were empty, so nobody was there to finalize the deal, and they just told us to come back whenever the manager happened to be in. 🙂 🙂

So, we lost our cool and called a boutique cake and pastry shop in our neighborhood instead. The guy there actually whipped up a whole pound of treats for us on the spot 😲 and you know what? We ended up picking him. Not only is he better, but he's also cheaper than those other places ($23 including the assembly and delivery)

I'm not quite sure which specific boutique bakery this refers to, but I really feel the need to share my recent dessert experiences. Since I'm such a huge fan of sweets, I’ve made a habit of going on solo tasting missions—people tend to give me some pretty odd looks when I show up alone, but hey, what they don't know won't hurt them. My absolute worst experience, though, was at that one boutique cake shop over in Suburban Chicago. So, my dear and I headed there—this time 🙂, you know, by appointment—hoping to sample a few things, but goodness, they were slammed. We didn't want to just stand around waiting, especially since everyone who arrived after us seemed to jump ahead in line to grab boxes of treats for home. Anyway, we ended up buying about a pound of assorted pastries, but we didn't even get the little samples people usually receive during a tasting. To make matters worse, the pastries felt like they were at least three days old—zero flavor—and the absolute kicker? The Raffaello truffles were salty! I don't know if they changed the recipe or something, but I've tried them everywhere and I have never encountered a salty Raffaello before 😕 the peach pastry—which was hard as a rock and practically hollow—and those fruit pastries that were just soggy, mushy messes. The only thing remotely decent was the Canadian cream cake (it actually holds up better with age 🤣 )
I've tried places like Lido, local candy shops, Fancy Cake, and so on, and honestly, the local candy shop wins hands down. They might be a bit pricier, but they are worth every single cent 🙂
Everywhere else was incredibly friendly; the staff was super accommodating and easy to deal with. It was just that one boutique bakery that completely let me down 😢 (and that's saying something, considering I had three different recommendations for them...😉 )

I really have to share how much I absolutely loved sladek tajan!!

We decided to go with them specifically for the cake.
Honestly, it turned out even more stunning than I had ever imagined.
It was this incredible chocolate and dark and white chocolate parfait layered with raspberries.
Everyone at the party couldn't stop raving about those raspberry layers; they were a massive hit with every single guest.

The staff there are just wonderful—so warm and welcoming. When we stopped by to finalize the details, they were so generous they actually packed up a huge bag of free treats for us to take home!

If I ever decide to tie the knot again, they’d be my first choice, hands down.😍

off- seriously, aren't you tired of being asked twice in such a short span? Like, do we really need to confirm this one more time already?😘

imageHey ladies, 🙂
I’ve been away from the forum for a little while. It seems things have been quite busy on all fronts lately. 😉 I still owe everyone a photo of that cake (the royal replica version)
. We were more than happy with it—it looked stunning and tasted even better.
Best wishes to you all, 😍

So, I picked up some pastries and a cake from Absum, and look, I have to say the cookies were incredible. They looked stunning laid out on the buffet table, but the cake? Total disaster. It was nothing like what I actually ordered. We had specifically gone over the design before the wedding on Monday, and I even offered to bring my own decorations if they couldn't pull it off—yet somehow, they just decided to go with this random picture instead! Honestly, it was the only thing at the whole wedding that didn't meet my 😢
. But hey, they did try to make it right by dropping the price... I guess that was the only way they could fix the mess!

Every single one of my cakes and desserts came from slasica Tom and Anne out in Suburban Chicago, and honestly? They were absolutely incredible.
I had ordered this really complicated cake, but they pulled it off perfectly—it was exactly what I had envisioned,
I mean, I actually lost my mind a little when I saw it because it looked identical to the photo I brought them,
and the taste was just phenomenal; you could tell it was made with real, homemade sponge and creams.

Yeah, that's the one! I don't know, the guy absolutely loves peach pastries (those are his absolute favorite 🤣), and he said that specific one was delicious (just one 😁)... As for me, I ate all the Raffaello balls and they seemed fine to me. Maybe they could tweak the recipe a bit, but they definitely weren't salty 😁

I'm too tired to keep going 🙂

Well, I've found myself facing a bit of a dilemma lately, as both Lido treats and Sladak Tajna have made their way into my rotation... honestly, I'm feeling quite torn about which one to favor right now.🙂

Those cookies were honestly incredible—I have to give them credit—even if the cake was a bit of a letdown... but those cookies? Seriously good.

I only grabbed some Lido treats at the state fair, but I actually got to try the sladak tajna at a wedding—they were honestly amazing. By midnight, every single dessert was gone 😁

Lido uses actual glass and ceramic for their dessert service, whereas everyone else is just serving stuff on plastic—usually that cheap gold-colored stuff 🙂 ....

I’m pretty sure you can just pick out whichever plates you want served on yourself.

We had Lido desserts—we're talking incredible pastries, little cream cups, cheesecakes (so good), and a wedding cake that tasted absolutely phenomenal, even though there was a bit of a mix-up regarding how it actually looked.

They provided these lovely white tiered stands for our tables, and for the dessert station, they arranged all the remaining cakes, pastries, and cream cups on top of a mirror. It created such an impressive effect. I assume there will be photos of it, so I'll show you once I get them back.

The situation with the cake design really shouldn't have happened, but honestly, despite that mishap, I would still choose Lido desserts all over again.

There is absolutely no way I'm spending money on dessert trays. 😁
Even if those gold ones didn't bother me—I actually owned some once, and they looked fine since everything was shades of yellow and gold anyway. 😬

By the way, I've tried pastries from both Lido and Sweet Secret, and honestly, they were both excellent. 👍
