16 pounds? Honestly, I thought even 10 was pushing it. I don't really follow how they're doing the math on that one.

Roughly 0.4 lbs per person for the treats. 80 people x 0.4 lbs = 16 kg.

Someone’s suggesting 4 ounces or maybe 4 cookies per person—isn't that a bit much?

Chloe Hayes51 said:nova, where did you order that boutique cake from?

You might want to look into "Grandma's Cookie." They have a little shop up on the Upper West Side.
We actually had them at our wedding. Three tiers, three distinct flavors, and honestly, they were all phenomenal. 👍 There isn't any margarine,
or that fake whipped cream, or any of that other cheap, processed junk.

silvermoose13 said:Ladies, we ordered our cake from Mary (that boutique cake shop over in Brooklyn) and let me tell you—it was absolutely spectacular! To be completely honest, the cake had slipped our minds entirely; we didn't even realize we needed to order one until just 14 days before the big day. By that point, most of the local bakers were already fully booked, though I think Vincent might have had an opening. Anyway, I stumbled upon this bakery online by pure chance. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous at first because we wanted a sleek, minimalist, all-white cake, and everything on their website looked a bit too busy for our taste. But our cake turned out stunning—five tiers (no stands needed!), perfectly white on the outside with nothing but tiny little dollops of frosting decorating the layers. Inside, it featured five different types of parfait... everyone raved about it. For a crowd of 350 people, it only cost us $933!! I highly recommend them to anyone 🙏

Correction to a previous statement!!!! That boutique shop isn't in Brooklyn, it's actually near Central Park, just so nobody gets lost (I live in Brooklyn myself).
Brian Garcia I'm facing a similar dilemma, though my choice is between M&M's or that bakery out in Yellowstone. I think I'm leaning toward the first option since they're a bit more budget-friendly, and they mentioned they're pretty flexible with arrangements.👍

I want to share some good news: we finally secured the cakes and pastries. After an extensive search, we reached an agreement with Laura’s bakery in Kansas City, and they will be delivering everything directly to us in Washington, D.C. We have ordered chocolate and fruit cakes featuring five layers of buttercream; in total, there will be seven cakes. The bakery assured us this will be plenty for 200 guests. As for the pastries, I believe we found the best value available. $16 We purchased 50 kg of them, and I am hopeful this amount will suffice for the venue. They didn't even require a deposit, just a final confirmation two weeks before the wedding. One less thing for me to worry about.

I happened to stumble upon that boutique cake website out of pure curiosity... and I saw this

wow... what a cake!!! It’s a tower! It is absolutely massive!!!! 😲 😲 😲

(By the way—please don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying anything negative—it's just that the sheer scale of that... marvel! left me completely stunned!)

Good grief! I am absolutely not a fan. It looks like some kind of cheap circus prop! image

I’m not a fan either... honestly, it gives off some kind of dark, ominous vibe, like something out of a bad horror flick...

So, how exactly do you even cut that? I mean—do you need to climb onto a stool just to reach it, or do you just stretch yourself out? 🤔

Well, look, I wouldn't personally pick something like that for myself—but hey, I’m not one to judge someone else's taste... I suppose they liked it! Though, honestly, I think I'd be a bit shell-shocked if I showed up to some banquet looking like that... and I'm talking about the sheer scale of it, not necessarily the aesthetic itself...

I’m not a fan of those stands either... but honestly, this whole thing is just a total circus act, like Chloe Hayes51 said.

Well, considering how much of a stir she caused... looking at it from a slightly less intense perspective... 🤣

And those were supposed to be swans... I only just realized that now...

Honestly, these cakes are fine, but the cake stand is a total disaster—just pure tacky kitsch. 🤣
