Oh, hey Mark Kelly4, you know, that other girl from the suburbs... she's just so lovely, I think she looks absolutely wonderful

I was actually at a wedding on February 6th where they served this stunning cake from Magnolia Bakery. It featured a white and deep purple color scheme. Each tier had its own unique look—the top one looked almost like a gift wrapped in a purple ribbon, one layer had little purple hearts, and the bottom was a mix of white and purple stripes...
Cutting it wasn't an issue at all. Even if a few crumbs of the frosting fall away, I don't think it matters much since most people don't even bother eating the icing anyway. My only real complaint is the price tag; it’s pretty steep, costing about $30 per pound.

🙄 It feels like a bit much, but I'll see. I haven't had a chance to check out any local bakeries for the cake yet.

Hey everyone, quick question—does anyone know where I can order those tiny individual mini-cakes? Like, one for every single guest... I saw them at a friend's wedding recently and they looked amazing. They did them over at The Plaza, but since it’s not my big day there, I need to find someone else who does that kind of thing outside of that hotel. Plus, honestly, it would be such a relief to skip the whole cake-cutting ceremony entirely!😁

Well, maybe try asking the same place you order your cookies!🙂

I mean, I think they probably make them over at Whole Foods, but man, that’s some pricey stuff—like maybe 15-$$6.75/each.

briskmarlin86, how many people are we actually expecting? I must confess, if the headcount were anything less than 300, I would have been quite tempted to bake muffins myself—one for every single guest, decorated by my own hand... It is remarkably straightforward, really; you can easily whip up a dozen in a single batch... and if one possesses a reliable oven and a few extra baking sheets, one could certainly manage two or three rounds all at once... That is precisely how I would approach such an undertaking if given the opportunity.

Looks like it'll be around 150 people—about 85% of them are just our close friends, and the rest is family, so I am actually loving that idea of yours! Maybe I'll tweak it a little bit more... thanks!👍

Well, that certainly sounds like quite an undertaking—it’s a massive amount of work, truly. But if you were to divide the labor among a few close girlfriends, perhaps each could take on baking just a few trays, and everything would turn out beautifully... You could design the decorations entirely to your own taste to match your vision, then simply place them in those lovely little paper liners with a ribbon 😍 I am honestly starting to get swept up in the excitement of it all 😁 I might even find myself picking up a rolling pin at the end of it all—perhaps just to whip up something small for the kids 🤣

So, on Thursday I went ahead and put a deposit down for some treats at M&M's. They even gave me this little sampler box to try at home. Seriously, they are incredible!!! Usually, I’m not even a big dessert person—especially not those dry, crumbly wedding cookies everyone serves—but these are so creamy and delicious that I basically inhaled half the box by myself 🤣. Now I’m low-key stressing about whether 25 pounds is enough for 80 people. We aren't doing that whole tradition of sending plates home with guests anymore, but it still feels like I might run short. I don't really want to overdo it with the extra portions, but still... Plus, let's be real, they ended up being way more expensive than other places because I was super picky about exactly what I wanted. I cut out all those boring dry ones and went full-on with the Minions and all kinds of creamy stuff. 😁 What do you guys think? Should I just bite the bullet and order more? 😕 My aunt was telling me that 25 pounds is actually plenty since these things are so rich and heavy. 😳

We finally pulled the trigger on the cake yesterday! We decided on a three-tier round design for about 100 guests. For the exterior, we went with a beige fondant featuring a gold border—it’s hard to find the right words, but it looks incredibly elegant and will pair perfectly with my 😍 dress. As for the flavors, one layer is going to be a light hazelnut cream with hazelnut sponge, then we have chocolate and vanilla for the other two tiers. My fiancé isn't much of a fruit person, but honestly, I don't mind since we'll have a Black Forest cake on the side to satisfy my sweet tooth 🙂. Oh, and the price was $267, which is actually at least $200-$$133 cheaper than what most places were quoting us. If we hadn't gone with the fondant, it would have been even more affordable.

I am having difficulty deciding whether to order cookies from M&M's or Melio. Both options are excellent. What are your thoughts?

Ladies, we ordered our cake from Mary (that boutique cake shop over in Brooklyn) and let me tell you—it was absolutely spectacular! To be completely honest, the cake had slipped our minds entirely; we didn't even realize we needed to order one until just 14 days before the big day. By that point, most of the local bakers were already fully booked, though I think Vincent might have had an opening. Anyway, I stumbled upon this bakery online by pure chance. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous at first because we wanted a sleek, minimalist, all-white cake, and everything on their website looked a bit too busy for our taste. But our cake turned out stunning—five tiers (no stands needed!), perfectly white on the outside with nothing but tiny little dollops of frosting decorating the layers. Inside, it featured five different types of parfait... everyone raved about it. For a crowd of 350 people, it only cost us $933!! I highly recommend them to anyone 🙏

I’ve got 80 people coming too, plus I’ll be handing leftovers to the neighbors later, so I was thinking about getting closer to 15kg. Is that overkill?😕 😕 😕

If I were catering for 80 people based on standard guidelines, I’d grab about 35 pounds of cookies. And if there’s anything left over? It definitely won't go to waste...😍
