Your option sounds incredibly tempting...🙂

I believe there’s a standard for that... generally, you calculate about 8 to 12 ounces per person for just the ceremony itself, depending on what kind of crowd you're hosting...

Given how emotional I get, half a pound per person wouldn't even be enough for me...🤣 🤣

But I think those 7 ounces you mentioned for the home portions are more than sufficient...👍

I grabbed the cookie from "Nikolin kolač." I actually tried them for the first time at a friend's baby shower. Let me be clear: the flavor is incredible, and they look fantastic too. They give you a catalog to pick from at home, plus about 2 lbs for a tasting. Thanks for the tip—I agree that 7 oz should be plenty since the boxes aren't huge. My only remaining headache is the cake, but I still have some time to figure that out.😕

I’ve actually got a bit of a 😕 😬

If I decorate my cake with flower petals or little rosebuds scattered on top—are guests going to try to pick them off with their forks? Or will the servers... or 😕 😕 😁

Help!

The crew over at the local bakery taught me everything I need to know about edible flowers, since they use candied petals to decorate a huge chunk of their cakes. I’ve personally tried candied rose petals, pansies, marigolds, jasmine, and violets, and I have to admit, the flavor caught me off guard—I had no idea most flowers were actually edible. The golden rule they gave me is that you can only use flowers grown at home. You cannot touch anything treated with the various chemicals used in commercial farming; those things are straight-up toxic. Most flowers you pick up at a florist aren't even an option because they're sprayed with pesticides just to make them last longer on the shelf. If your guests don't realize certain flowers aren't food, they’re going to start picking the petals off the plates, and that goes for the waitstaff too.🙂

Those little ribbons wrapped around the cake, are they made out of satin or something else? 😕

I'm planning on having this exact bow featured on my cake, just like the one on my thank-you note http://hotimg3.fotki.com/a/193_198/144_185/P1010643.jpg

It looks lovely... does that ribbon wrap around every single layer?

So, you're going for a cake that's just totally white, like zero patterns or little flowers or anything?

I'm basically conducting a full-on investigation like I'm working for the FBI 😬 but honestly, it's just because I haven't quite figured out
how to decorate my cake without making it look way too over-the-top or tacky...

I suspect the whole thing is going to be pure white from start to finish!
Everything will be white and gold, and then eventually even that...
Just ask anyone!
Look, I get it—I’m constantly second-guessing myself on just about everything too!

Hmm, what am I supposed to do if they can't make the candied flowers...

Has any of you married ladies dealt with this? Like, did anyone skip out on adding sugar flowers or fresh blooms to their cake?

For all the bachelors out in Cleveland and the surrounding area: there's this sweet spot called Dolac Market right by the post office on the Boardwalk. They have some seriously amazing 😍 cakes, pastries, and pretty much everything else. Apparently, they do wedding stuff too according to their catalog, though I guess I don't know what the prices are like.

mala1mala -you could go with some unadulterated lilies or flowers, but make sure they haven't been chemically treated and won't wilt halfway through, otherwise the whole thing is going to look pathetic.

What kind of cake are we talking about here? You got a picture or something?

You've got a point there

so I think I'll just tell the servers to ditch the floral decor entirely (which means no scattered petals either...)

Thanks velvetgull9, I'm still out here struggling to pull off this cake myself.

Walking down over there, you won't regret it—unless you aren't watching the lanes 😁 😁 😁

Nah, I don't care about any specific line. I just like to hang out and people-watch.👍
