Disney :'' but that’s just easy ...and boring''
Boring? Hardly.🙏 🙂

Quincy:
but if you want TOP-TIER ZEN

shut down the PC and breathe some fresh air
Then maybe sitting on a rock is "SUPER ZEN," while the rest of the time you're glued to the computer breathing stale AC air.🙂

Quincy:
shut down the PC and breathe some fresh air
Maybe try solving your own issues first.🙂 🙂 🙂

Quincy:
Since thoughts drift and wander, should I focus this exercise on my breathing?
Just leave them alone. The more you try to strangle them, the more they fight back.🙏 😁 😎

Enchantress, how bad is your internet connection in New York City, and what's the damage to your wallet...

I find it impossible to believe that cable internet here in the States is twice as cheap and twice as fast. It’s all that damn T-Mobile garbage's fault...

hiddenpuma75, what kind of speeds are you pulling in Dubai?

Exactly. If you aren't breathing down their necks, they won't rebel because they’re just doing whatever they want. Even the Devil doesn't start acting up until you actually try to walk away from him.😈

As long as your thoughts are under control and you aren't trying to flip the script on them, why would there even be any resistance?😁

Sure, it'll be cheaper. In Mexico too. In the European Union. Even in Borneo.

God bless our beautiful, beautiful, beautiful coastlines and beaches... 🙂

Experiment results: I fell asleep. 😁 And twice, no less. Like, when I woke up, I tried again and immediately drifted off. I’ll give it another shot later and let you know how it goes. Honestly, this is way more interesting than I thought it would be. 😉

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. I feel so much better when I just let them do their thing and stop getting so attached. 🙂

Let's move this conversation to Private or via email.

It’s always someone else’s fault, isn't it? People love to point fingers at immigrants and blame them for buying up half the city. But wait—who’s stopping us from buying property and opening our own shops?

Who sold it to them in the first place? The exact same people complaining today are the ones who didn't mind when they pocketed a massive windfall to buy houses right in the middle of downtown.

Look, AT&T didn't just storm into America with an armed invasion. These things happen through contracts, deals, and concessions. There are plenty of other ways the government could have handled the relationship between big corporations and the market to prevent monopolies, but that's just how it played out.

These relationships between corporations and the state or the market are established through legal frameworks. Sure, maybe there were other ways to prevent monopolies, but that's the reality we live in.
Yeah, yeah, I get it. Believe me, I do. But Zenbunism has nothing to do with this; there’s already a specific thread for that somewhere else.🙄

😱
Wait, did you fall down the Gnostic rabbit hole too?

Actually, it's the opposite. Thoughts become "masters" (don't take that literally!) the moment you start getting tangled in a mental whirlpool—when you start obsessively dwelling on SOMETHING (an object, an idea, whatever). A master once explained this perfectly in a post. Once that happens, the mind immediately kicks into gear, analyzing causes and effects, inventing purposes and benefits, and within moments—boom, you've got a headache. 😁
Like Karen Sanchez19 said: you can't fight thoughts with more thoughts. That’s actually one big illusion if you really stop to think about it. You basically think you're using thoughts to stop thoughts, but the whole struggle is just one massive, continuous thought. 😛
Besides, it's easy to test this out. Just relax and let your thoughts drift (again, don't be literal here, because we aren't "letting" anything go, it's all just flowing anyway) and then try to trigger some specific ruminations about this or that. You'll notice the difference instantly.

Private🙂 😁

You can do it through willpower—concentration—and emotion—devotion.
Emotion🙄

Thoughts aren't even really "you" anyway. Just leave them alone.

No, quite the opposite. As Karen Sanchez19 says: you can't fight thoughts with more thoughts. It’s actually a massive delusion if you stop to consider it. You think you're using thoughts to shut down thoughts, but really, it's just one giant, continuous thought.
Besides, running an experiment is easy. Just relax and let the thoughts drift (again, don't be literal here; we aren't "letting go" of anything, it's all already flowing) and then try to engage in some specific ruminating about this or that. You'll notice the difference instantly.

But honestly, what’s the point? You're just suppressing one stream of thought with another—either by forcing focus or by obsessing over feelings. Once you stop pushing, everything just snaps back to exactly how it was. You haven't actually changed anything. All you did was swap one thought for another, dragging one specific idea to the surface while the rest of it continues to swirl just beneath the radar.

Lol, we’ve got people here debating mind control and lucid dreaming while being haunted by night terrors and guys who can't even remember their own damn dreams 🤣 .B

I’m down to make a bet: if you follow my lead for just one week, you’ll start remembering your dreams—and honestly, you’ll probably start having lucid ones too. 😉

Go ahead and philosophize all you want, but practice is what actually works. Theory is just for people with way too much time on their hands. 🙂

Once you stop that mental gymnastics, everything just snaps back to how it was. You haven't actually accomplished anything; you've just swapped one set of thoughts for another, pushing one idea to the front while everything else continues to simmer just beneath the surface of your awareness.

That goes for the body, too. If you stop working out, you're going to lose your shape. Does that mean we shouldn't exercise? Of course not. Once you move beyond the physical realm and reach a state of pure consciousness where the concept of a "body" doesn't even apply, there won't be any need for it. But as long as you're living in this world and inhabiting a physical form, you have to maintain it. It's the same deal with the mind. Once you transcend thought entirely, all this becomes irrelevant—Ramani didn't "need" to meditate, yet he highly recommended Atma Vichara as an incredibly effective method for his students. As long as the mind exists, you've got to keep it in shape, otherwise, it’s just going to get sluggish and messy.
