Honestly, I don't think you need to call the cops right out of the gate. If I actually bought something and it didn't show up, I'd just hit up the retailer first to see where they sent it.

At Chase, all accounts except checking are linked to a Visa Electron; checking uses a Maestro card.
If the account number starts with 32, it's checking; 31 means savings; 87 or 90 indicates a specialized savings account.🙂
EDIT: That last part only applies to Chase.
