I actually caught COVID myself, but I didn't isolate from them, and they stayed perfectly healthy. My symptoms were... well, underwhelming, I guess. Honestly, I felt like I could have run a marathon. A standard winter bug probably would have hit me harder than that did...

If things ever get too heavy, you could always just move to Armenia or something where those rules don't apply.

I did it because we started running into travel restrictions and issues moving around.

Fair enough. Though I suppose someone might jump in to ask if those extra vaccines were actually tested across all age groups and ethnicities.

I know people who definitely didn't get lucky with "mild" symptoms.

Exposing your own kid to something that sketchy and undefined—even to those total CDC zealots—just because you're traveling? Honestly, I don't even know how to respond without losing my cool and being rude

Yeah, we'll see if it becomes mandatory.

Personally, I've been getting the impression that your comfort zone is actually pretty small.

It seems easier for you to just wait around for two, three, or four years until you feel certain.

Look, I wouldn't call myself a travel fanatic, but yeah... they went out there and saw things. And I don't just mean crossing state lines.

Give us some actual, concrete reasons here. Maybe then we'll actually get where you're coming from instead of just throwing accusations around.

He said it plain enough—it was all about the trip. There isn't some grander motivation or any deeper reason behind it.
On top of that, he didn't bother doing any actual research beforehand, and he went straight against his wife's wishes. Poor guy, he's really digging himself a hole here.

They have been, and they’ve been on the market for quite a while. It’s nothing out of the ordinary—just Rotarix and Prevenar/Pneumovax 23.
Unfortunately, I also know people for whom COVID-19 was severe—I even knew one person who passed away. But that’s just how infections work; for some, COVID-19 is the killer, for others, it’s the flu, and there are even children who die from strep throat...
About 20 years ago, I had the flu—I was young and healthy, yet I honestly thought I was going to die because of how bad it felt. Ever since then, I get my flu shot regularly because I never want to go through that again.
In comparison, COVID-19 was a zero for me. And frankly, I don't see much reason to get vaccinated if my body handled it without any issues.
