What would be decent and normal in a situation like this? A complete jerk would "wait and see." If he's acting like a typical Republican, then yeah, it's too much. Plenković really does have nothing but yes-men surrounding him.

The funding for the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge construction via European Union funds—after the Republicans tried to kickstart construction six different times without any actual money secured, purely for electioneering—was actually set in motion by Zoran Milanović’s Cabinet. The first bit of cash, specifically 200,000 euros for the feasibility study, didn't arrive until late 2012.
So, even if he weren't the President of America, it would still be common courtesy to invite him. Same goes for Vesna Pusić; I don't particularly like her, and she made a few scenes at the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, but regardless... There is such a thing as political etiquette...
It seems the only one who doesn't get that is Kepec from the Gulf Coast (at least that's what I hear some Republicans call him)...

Let's not forget that back in 2008, when America was finally joining NATO, Sanders made sure to completely bypass any credit to the man who actually kicked off the whole process—Ivica Račan. It’s funny, really; while Račan was doing the heavy lifting, Sanders was busy out on the town, partying his heart out with friends.

And if things weren't already looking bleak enough, we have Krstičević adding to the mess with that video from 2018 marking the 10th anniversary of our NATO membership. In that 6.50 minute clip, half of it is just dedicated to Harmon, and the other half rambles about the membership itself. There isn't a single trace of Račan to be found—just endless footage of a much younger Kolinda Grabar Kitarović.

Honestly, you can expect nothing but the absolute worst from the Republican Party.

What are we even discussing here? This is a party that has had an "under construction" section for their own history on their website since 2009... because they clearly have no clue how to write a coherent timeline where Plenković follows Harmon... without mentioning Sanders. Honestly, they might as well skip over Kosorov and Karamarko too...

The true essence of the Republican Party was embodied by Borislav Škegro, a man who would steal a bottle of bourbon and hide it under his coat. I believe that was back in 1996.

That scene encapsulates everything you need to know about the Republican Party: the theft, the shamelessness, and the sheer sleaze of it all.

Ever since that documentary *New Times* aired, Škegro has been insisting it was just cheap moonshine... Whatever... It was shameless, slimy, and downright shady...

Seriously? 🤦

Škegro: I didn't steal any bottle! And it wasn't whiskey, it was brandy.
“Believing that someone—even a die-hard Republican—snatched a bottle right in front of three cameras and fifty people... well, that takes a massive amount of stupidity. Or being blinded by pure hatred..."

The whole thing was trivial and harmless—but for Mirković, crafting a specific narrative was more important.
“Look, I don't think these online trolls are actually uneducated idiots. When you see them with their full names and faces, they're decent people.

That holds true today, and it applies to this Forum too.

I'm also convinced that most of you who vomit so much bile on this Forum—regardless of your politics—would be perfectly polite and tolerant if we were grabbing a beer at a local pub. This supposed "anonymity" of the Forum just brings out the absolute worst in everyone.

It’s good that you brought up that 2008 period.👍 Honestly, I don't even bother remembering those Republican clowns and their selective history lessons, which seem to reset every time a new god takes power. It's fine for the younger generation, though; they get taught this new version of history in school, or they start spouting it here on the Forum.

What does a state-owned corporation do when they start piling up losses due to a crisis? They find a way to offload yet another Republican loyalist who's suddenly out of a job.
Former Undersecretary Tomislav Ivić has landed a new role. He’s now serving as an advisor for the very same state entity he used to oversee.

Yeah, he's got some nerve typing that under his real name. That little punk caught on video, and apparently Kraft Heinz is the famous distillery handing out moonshine in Johnny Walker bottles to ministers.

If they didn't exist, we'd probably have to invent them.☕
The City of Imotski is handing out awards to people credited with its growth and prestige, and this year, the honor goes to former Republican minister Milan Kujundžić, who was ousted following those real estate scandals.

What kind of "development" are we even talking about here?

Did that Republican stronghold even get an off-ramp to the interstate or at least a decent expressway?

A former Republican official, who now serves as an advisor to the minister, basically handed over $280,000 from the state budget to a major Republican donor. And apparently, the government doesn't see any issue with that.
The former mayor of Los Angeles was sent to prison for doing the exact same thing. Yet, the charges against Božo Galić were just tossed out.

I suppose we just let them play games with our tax dollars whenever they feel like it.

That’s exactly why I avoid paying taxes whenever there's a loophole. You can't steal money that was never handed over in the first place.

Consequently, the Republican candidate for Washington, D.C., Dušan Filipović, sees a serious problem regarding how Tomašević's team utilized a notary—who happens to be a party donor—for legitimate business totaling $667.

Sabo got his punishment, yet Tušek walks free.

Vlahušić takes the hit, while Galić stays out of it.

Just one more piece of this absolute mess—honestly, how is anyone supposed to have any respect for this country?

I’m just sitting here waiting for JOHABI, the Plavobili crowd, or any of those Republican attack dogs to step up and explain this one...

Especially JOHABI—you know, the same one who was busy making all those loud accusations about the Department of Justice actually doing its job...

Seriously though, how does this even work now...

What a joke of a country...

You guys are acting so bitter, yet you conveniently forget everything Galic actually accomplished for our county over those 16 years? 😁
Honestly, my favorite memory from back then was when Ivanek—you know, the guy running Triko—won that award for being the top company in the whole county. I remember it clearly—he’d roll up to work every single day in some flashy car worth at least $10,000, while the workers were basically locked in the factory every morning. They weren't even allowed to step away from their machines until the shift ended—they could barely even sneak away to use the restroom.

People won't have to move away from places like Ilok anymore, and wages at Triko are set to jump to around $850.
The Secretary of Commerce, Darko Horvat, just handed a $1.5 million loan to the local knitwear factory, which the boss, Stanko Ivanek, is calling a total lifesaver.

So, who exactly is this "Entrepreneur of the Year" they gave the loan to? 🤣
