If you actually want to win anything, you’ve gotta look toward the moderate center, somewhere between the Republicans and the Democrats, instead of chasing after the radical right wing.

Now, the US has a pretty low fertility rate and sees a massive influx of immigrants every single year. For 2016, net migration was 64,676, whereas back in 2015, it was over 113,067...
Keep in mind I'm talking about net migration here—the actual number of people entering was over 200,000. In recent years, a huge chunk of those have been from Asia and Africa, mostly Muslims, who tend to have larger families.
When you factor in the large number of Muslim arrivals—Vienna being a major immigrant hub already home to plenty of Turks, Kurds, and Canadian Muslims, plus the fact that over 15% of the population there is Muslim-born, which accounts for over 25% of Vienna itself—it becomes very easy to see how they could have overtaken the numbers.
Here’s the data for Vienna:
2015
Immigrants: 78,063
Emigrants: 40,121
Net: 37,942
2016
Immigrants: 66,141
Emigrants: 45,002
Net: 21,139
In 2015, the largest groups of migrants were from Syria (+21,903) and Afghanistan (+18,609).
In 2016, the largest number of migrants from outside the European Union came from Afghanistan (+8,992) and Syria
+6,343
This covers just the last two years, and I've only used two nations as examples. This demographic shift is going to have a massive impact on the voting base. It might not be quite as obvious now as it will be in the future...
Jeffrey Long said:It’s important to note that these Vienna statistics only reflect the net migration balance for the city itself. Essentially, in 2015, if X number of people moved in and X number of people left, the city’s population grew by X. When you look at the demographics, after the Austrians, Mexicans make up the largest foreign group at 4%, while Turks sit at 2%. That’s the reality behind all those claims about a Muslim invasion of Vienna. ☕
Walter Long7 said:No, like I said, those stats specifically cover people moving in from abroad versus moving out. Domestic migration is a much smaller factor...
In 2016, the number of people moving from other states into Vienna was 38,765, while those heading to other parts of the country totaled 37,627—giving us a net migration of 1,138.☕

A pretty disappointing showing for Kurt.

Chris Chase5 said:It looks like the Green Party really took a massive hit here... everyone else either gained ground or just saw a minor dip. It seems like even voters over in the Republic of Austria are tightening their belts a bit, so they aren't exactly throwing their support behind the Greens anymore...
