The left tends to be urban, highly educated, and progressive.
The right tends to be rural, less educated, and conservative.

That's a pretty heavy stereotype—and a massive generalization...

It’s probably going to be pretty intense. I guess most of those votes have been leaning heavily toward the Greens and the VBB so far, maybe.

So, it looks like women mostly don't vote for Donald Trump. I think I found a summary of it here:
I don't have access to that specific link, so I can't see what was written there. If you can paste the text here, I'll get right on rewriting it for you!

Back in 2014, the Freedom Party voted against increasing nursing care allowances. I think they also voted against needs-based welfare back in 2010. Then in 2015, the Freedom Party decided not to back that UN campaign against discrimination toward women. In 2014, the Freedom Party blocked a law for harsher penalties for underpaying employees, too. And in 2015, the Freedom Party voted against measures to reduce the gender pay gap at the international level. I guess in 2014 they were also against bridge money for construction workers and didn't approve limiting luxury pensions. They also voted against removing tax privileges for corporations in 2014. Back in 2011, the Freedom Party voted against the American Social Charter, which really stands up for things like better working conditions, the right to social security, and fair wages. Plus, the Freedom Party is against public support for women's shelters for abused women.

The Freedom Party is pretty patriarchal, I guess. They've blocked so many laws meant to close the gender pay gap, too. It’s easy to spot the people who don't fall for the fear-mongering, especially if they're educated, maybe.
And of course, if you live in the cities: from what I can see, all the major metros are going to be green (Austin is still blue, but maybe it'll turn green tomorrow too). On the other hand, everything rural is mostly blue. It's a pretty big divide between the cities and the countryside, I guess.

cities are full of uneducated immigrants🙄

and yeah, a massive divide between Austrians and everyone else.

Honestly, cities are crawling with uneducated Muslims, while the rural areas are full of educated Europeans.

Let’s be real—today's leftist voters are essentially just immigrants and those with less formal education, which is exactly why they flock to the country in the first place. On the flip side, the bulk of the right-wing vote comes from the working class, people with established families, and those who have actually achieved something—people who genuinely care about protecting their families and the stability of the nation...
The left targets the ego; highly educated folks suffer from this desperate need for social validation, so when the propaganda starts rolling in saying, "If you want to be progressive, vote for us, otherwise you're backwards," they bite. It’s textbook manipulation. To top it all off, the leftist base consists mostly of older individuals who generally have much lower levels of education, whereas the younger, highly educated demographic is leaning heavily toward the right.

Actually, I think it's 900K, not 90K.
Polls and all those projections don't really matter anymore since we have the actual numbers now.
So:
http://wahl16.bmi.gv.at/

Norbert Hofer 1.937.863
Alexander van der Bellen 1.793.857

That means the gap is exactly 144,006 votes. They requested 900K of those Briefwahl ballots, so I guess nobody can say for sure how many people will actually send them in or if van den Bellen will make up that distance—it’s pretty hard to predict. Based on what I've seen before, maybe van den Bellen will catch up easily, but then again, we all know how those predictions usually turn out 😉.

No need to act all wounded. I don't see Muhammad as an Austrian even if their ancestors lived there for 200 years, and the Austrians don't see them that way either...

Those 900,000 votes are from ethnic Austrians... funny how their diaspora gets to vote by mail and nobody complains... shows just how backward and narrow-minded our left wing really is...🤦

Brenda Ross47, sorry, but I guess you're just talking nonsense here. You don't really know much about Austria, or even how mail-in voting works, I suppose. It feels like you're just flooding the thread with little inaccuracies that aren't even worth replying to, and honestly, people just ignore your provocations because they see you're just looking for an argument. If you actually have something real to say, or maybe just a question about something you don't get—feel free.

What’s there to say? You can see it from a plane if you look closely enough—the leftists have taken over the cities with a bunch of uneducated losers and immigrants who just happen to hold citizenship. Even an idiot could see that.

And it's pretty obvious you're pushing the leftist agenda, trying to sell me this nonsense that Muslims in the cities are all educated and progressive while actual Austrians are just backwards hillbillies. I wonder who you think you're fooling...🙄

And please, don't even try to get personal or attempt some amateur psychology session on me.
Naturally, being a textbook leftist supporter, you resort to personal attacks instead of actually debating. Total lack of intellect, clearly...🤦

I honestly think we’re looking at some kind of blatant manipulation here. 🤔

Can someone please make sense of this for me? If you look at the Department of Homeland Security site, they’ve even listed the mail-in ballot counts http://wahl16.bmi.gv.at/1605-bw_ov_0.html

And here are today's precinct results, excluding the mail-in ballots: http://wahl16.bmi.gv.at/index.html

I’m not looking at individual precincts anymore; I’m just going by the tallied votes.

So, based on the mail-in ballots, the count is:

Hofer: 257,856 votes
Alexander van der Bellen: 277,671 votes

The precinct results show:

Hofer: 1,937,863 votes
Alexander van der Bellen: 1,793,857 votes

Grand total:

Hofer: 257,856 + 1,937,863 = 2,195,719
Alexander van der Bellen: 277,671 + 1,793,857 = 2,071,618

Or am I missing something? 🤔

Did I mess up the math somewhere? Is this actually a dead heat? 🤔

I have no intention of marching anywhere, but rather I want to point out that the leftists and progressives, with their incessantly grating politics, are pushing Europe toward the brink of civil war—people are becoming quite allergic to it all. 🕺

Just so everyone can follow along, let me give you a perfect example from the last presidential elections in America. RTL, acting as the mouthpiece for liberal "values," reported that Josipovic pulled his highest percentage of votes in some municipality over in Istria. In reality, he actually got his biggest numbers in Bogdanovacs. And we're talking about those same people in Bogdanovacs who overwhelmingly voted "No" during the marriage referendum. I guess those folks must be incredibly urbanized, unlike, say, the rural outskirts of Indianapolis or San Jose...

According to Ziba—which is basically the Austrian version of the Daily Journal—those pages containing the Briefwahl votes are considered irrelevant, so the DIP is planning to pull them down pretty quickly.

I can't remember the last time I even checked the Daily Journal 😳 honestly, I can't stand watching ORF😳 why on earth would they delete it? If it’s so irrelevant, why was it posted in the first place? 🤔 The whole thing feels incredibly shady to me. ☕
