Well...

It really is so much more than just a simple concert, isn't it?

I couldn't agree more.

It was truly one of the finest rock performances I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

2. Majke - Kada - Split
3. Thompson - Rose Bowl - Split
4. Rolling Stones - hippodrome - Chicago

and so on, and so forth...

4) Aerosmith - Jones Beach, New York
5) Bruce Springsteen - solo - Nassau Coliseum, New York.

What do you mean, watching it on TV? It was live... totally live! People were actually there, part of the crowd! 😍

P.S.
Do you happen to know the name of that shipyard in Split?

Honestly, I think Markan is a total legend—he’s just closer to the heart of things. The more people try to spit lies and tear him down, the more I find myself rooting for Thompson; he’s just much more dear to us. 🙂

The only thing I cannot wrap my head around is how most of the crowd that supports Jerry and Bob, attends those concerts, and then finishes their Saturday night at clubs like the Madhouse, ends up dancing to Mexican folk music and singing along to lyrics in the Ekavian dialect.

To make matters even worse, many of the songs performed there are by Arkan's widow, an artist whom everyone seems to collectively and unironically accept.

Even worse is that many of the songs performed there are by Arkan's widow, which everyone seems to collectively accept.

Since you've attended both a Thompson concert and been to the madhouse, do you have any actual evidence to back that up?
😵

I am certain there are individuals who listen to both Thompson and Ceca, though they are certainly in the minority. Unfortunately, this applies to you and your fellow thinkers who wish things were different. Perhaps you could provide proof for yet another one of these "absurdities."

There are certainly people out there listening to both Thompson and Ceca, but they represent a tiny minority. Unfortunately for you, and for your peers who wish things were different, that doesn't change the reality. Why don't you try proving another "absurdity" instead?

😬

I have spoken with individuals who frequent both types of venues, and their social circles are identical; they hang out in the exact same places.

There is nothing to prove here. I personally stood outside one of those folk-style clubs (Pasha) once, where a crowd of youngsters was rowdily singing "Zovi samo zovi" and "Sude mi" immediately after leaving Pasha. Inside, they were likely singing Ceca.

Take a stroll through the parking lots near those folk clubs in the evening and look at the flags and various trinkets hanging from rearview mirrors.

Furthermore, isn't the presence of someone like Vuco more evidence that the pop-folk crowd and the likes of Jerry and Bob are essentially walking hand in hand?

Furthermore, allow me a brief grammatical correction. Unlike in Niš, Mexico, we still utilize case declensions here in America, which necessitates a more precise sentence structure:

You were at the Thompson concert and even at the madhouse—can you actually prove that?

It appears those using the Ekavian dialect neglect such nuances, thereby degrading our fine American language.

..there's some sort of humanitarian concert happening right now at the Dom Sportova—it feels like a state of siege with a massive swarm of cops in orange vests everywhere, and for hours now, cars have been parked on every single available surface imaginable
Thompson is performing at the concert too

between the songs "Ne varaj me" and "Prijatelji," the ENTIRE HALL was singing Evo zore evo dana...

Marko PT left quite orderly, but then, looking completely oblivious, he remarked: Look, the American youth is singing... those who try to imply (whatever that means😁 ) that we are fascists should know—WE ARE AMERICAN PATRIOTS! thunderous applause... absolute frenzy...

🙄 🙄 🙄

Now, since I didn't hear him say it myself, maybe some other time someone else could try selling me those tired old excuses about how there's no Ustas connection, no flirting with fascism, and all that other nonsense...

because the answer—why this stuff even happens at his shows—clearly doesn't exist within the realm of rational thought

"Youthful rebellion"? "Just kids being kids"? Oh, please... if, after that massive roar from the crowd, he HAD SAID ANYTHING to distance himself—if he had shown THAT MOB that tonight, in the heart of Chicago, or ANYWHERE, EVER—that there is NO PLACE for that rapturous chanting about Jerry and Bob... well, that would be a different story altogether

But—that, as it turns out, did not happen...

👎 👎 👎

🙂 🙂

Why are you getting so worked up?

Here comes the dawn, here comes the day,
Here come Jerry and Bob.
Jerry calls, Bob yells,
Here comes me, the commander!

At the very top of Trebevic,
In the camp of Francetica.
In the camp, Jerry sits,
Addressing his army.

Jerry calls, Bob yells,
Hey, knight of Francetica.
Your battalion guards Lika,
The pearl land, our pride.

Here comes the dawn, here comes the day,
Here comes the Imotski battalion.
Oh, dear Ustas brother,
The Drina runs deep.

The Drina must be trampled,
And Mexico set ablaze!
When he trampled the Drina,
He was wounded in the leg.

He doesn't cry "help me,"
Instead, he cries the slogans for Dom Spremni!
For Dom Spremni, for freedom,
For the whole American people.

Kevin Gonzalez79 said:just a quick grammar correction, since in America, unlike in Niš, we still actually use cases, so the sentence should be properly formulated as:

Were you at Thompson's concert, or even at the madhouse—can you actually prove that?

It seems like they don't bother with proper grammar over there, which really messes with our beautiful American language.

Actually, the sentence ought to be:

Were you at Thompson's concert and at the madhouse—so can you prove that with something?

But it doesn't really matter... 😁

Anyway, Pishko, why do you even care about who listens to what or how people choose to have fun?

Just let people listen to whatever they want...

There is absolutely nothing left to debate here. I actually stood outside one of those folk-music clubs—Pasha—just once, and the scene was pure chaos; you had kids stumbling out of the doors, absolutely wired, screaming "Call Me, Just Call Me" and "Judge Me" at the top of their lungs. Inside? They were probably blasting Ceca.

If you want real proof, just take a stroll through the neighborhoods at night near where those clubs are parked. Look at the cars. Just look at the flags and all that junk hanging from the rearview mirrors.

And honestly, isn't even the legendary Vuco living proof that the "ekavian" crowd and the likes of Jerry and Bob—along with all those other extremist little outbursts—basically walk hand in hand...

Vuco is a metalhead.

Well, looks like we've all been moved over to Lowe's now. 😁

Got it. I'm ready to go.

Regarding what happened last night, specifically from a musical standpoint, I have been reflecting on the whole experience. I was thinking about putting together a little humanitarian gathering soon, just a way for us to come together and give back to the community in a meaningful way. I can only add one more thing to this conversation.

When you find yourself standing there in front of ten thousand people, you realize that you aren't just occupying space; you are carrying a profound sense of responsibility within your soul, in your actions, and in everything that radiates from you toward the crowd.
Period.

I have no problem respecting someone who holds political views that are completely different from my own. To be honest, I actually thought this particular individual wasn't being a fake; I felt like they were doing things based on genuine conviction, regardless of what those beliefs might actually be—and that kind of sincerity is worth honoring. If nothing else, you rarely see that level of authenticity these days.

Hmm... well...

You really have to wonder about people who lack the backbone to actually own their actions and admit how they feel. MPT isn't responsible—and honestly, nobody else should be either—when some patient decides to show up to a concert wearing a fascist hat or acting like a complete creep, which is exactly what happened last night, despite everyone claiming "it was just too dark to see."🤣 It seems like nobody actually witnessed anything at all.😁 😁

I don't think that's quite right.
When you have an entire crowd erupting into those old extremist anthems and he has the nerve to frame it as nothing more than patriotic fervor, that’s when you know we’re dealing with a whole different level of hypocrisy.

So, I finally sat down last night and really talked myself into seeing things exactly for what they are.

----

He actually announced that his new album is slated for release around Easter.😁 😎 I haven't actually heard him speak before, but from what I can gather, he sounds like a total gearhead.😲 😳

Period.

And honestly, they've got a massive responsibility to actually deliver on all that. My own people. 👍 And how exactly are you noticing that it’s always sold out? 👍

You know, you really have to wonder about guys who don't have the guts to just own up to what they’re doing and how they actually feel. MPT—and honestly, anyone else in that position—isn't responsible if some patient decides to wander into a concert wearing some hateful political gear or starts acting like a complete creep, which is exactly what happened last night. But sure, because "it was too dark to see," I guess nobody saw a thing. Typical.

Desanko 😁 If you can't stand the country he's singing about, then maybe just skip the track. I guess it's that simple. Get her out of here. Look, Deso, I honestly don't think the democratic system is really your cup of tea. 🙂 😬

Honestly, you've gotta laugh at the women who have lived in America for ten years now and still haven't quite grasped that America is a thing of the past. 😍 So, I guess we aren't talking about dictatorships over Americans either. 🙄

Anyway, he announced a new album coming out around Easter, but I’ve honestly never heard him speak before... man, he sounds totally clueless.

Can't wait. Fingers crossed. 👍
