First off, I want to send my best to the mods, admins, and everyone else who decides to jump into this thread.

The day has finally come where I’m asking to have my temporary suspension from the soap factory subreddit lifted. It’s been three and a half months now. I know the standard waiting period is usually six months, but I honestly don't see why mine can't be cleared sooner. If I end up breaking the rules again, you can easily reinstate it, but this time for good. I haven't had any issues lately and I've been enjoying some really pleasant discussions with others. Back when I was suspended, a few users on the soap factory boards tried to bait me into an argument, and I admit I reacted poorly. Looking back, I realized they were just trolls looking for a reaction. This time around, I'm not going to waste a single second on them. There are plenty of people there who are easy to talk to—specifically long-time users like James Allen40. Since Easter is right around the corner, it would be a nice gesture of goodwill if you could show me a little mercy. Please don't just bring up my past mistakes, because then the whole idea of a temporary suspension becomes pointless; at that point, a permanent ban on certain PDFs is more efficient. rustydrifter10, I’m specifically reaching out to you to see if you could help convince the mods to give me one more shot. The easiest thing would be to just slap a permanent suspension on me, but I promise I'll steer clear of all the fighting, insults, trolling, and spam. I actually wish someone would define exactly what "trolling" means, since it seems to mean something different to everyone. I promise that every single one of my posts will stay strictly on topic regarding the series. Have mercy on a sinner🙂

The moderators have actually been conferring about this; they haven't just been blowing you off. They'll reach out to you once they've made a final call.

I checked with the mods, and the answer is NO—your partial won't be canceled just yet.

🙂

Are copy-paste posts actually allowed now? I remember getting points and bans for doing the exact same thing before, and looking back at those old threads, you can see how harsh my punishment really was. Meanwhile, you see people trolling constantly without any consequences. A lot of folks on Reddit feel like the mods are biased and play favorites, but I’m the only one brave enough to say it out loud because everyone else is too scared of retaliation.

wiredwolf442, you didn't just get banned out of nowhere or some random act of God.

Look, people kept telling you—repeatedly, I might add—to quit picking fights with everyone on Reddit and to stop being such a relentless troll over in the soap factory threads, especially whenever the topic of Suleiman the Magnificent came up.
Beyond the official warnings you got via bans—and that wasn't just coming from one mod, but from the entire moderation team running the soap factory section (ambermason16, Walter Brown30, and myself)—you were also warned several times through direct messages.

When we’re actually considering banning a user, the protocol is to give them a fair heads-up first, basically saying, "Hey, knock it off or you're getting banned," so you can't really claim you weren't warned, because you definitely were, and more than once.

Now, I get that you might feel one moderator is being biased—that happens, I guess—but claiming the entire moderation team is biased, specifically the exact same group of people who were constantly handing you bans before this final move, just doesn't hold any water.

And honestly, let's not forget you were making burner accounts, sending insulting DMs, and all that other stuff.

People kept warning you to stop baiting users on Reddit and constant trolling over at the soap factory, especially regarding the Suleiman the Magnificent threads.

That’s exactly what this is about. I got my account suspended because of one specific series. I actually wanted to post in the thread about the actors from the Suleiman the Magnificent show, but I can't because of the suspension. I post exclusively on the Suleiman thread because it's the only show I follow, and I never even thought of this place as a soap factory to begin with. Okay, maybe I poked the other side a few times—I won't deny that—but honestly, you guys are being totally biased all the time. Everything should have ended with my suspension. My last complaint against her was when she claimed to be objective just because she's on Roxelana's team. Hey! That's coming from someone who spent the whole series hyping up Roxelana and bashing Ibrahim. Isn't that just provocation and trolling? I got banned because I made a little comment about how in real life, Ibrahim was used by Roxelana and she enjoyed it. Immediately, I got hit with a ban. Sure, that was technically trolling, but the other side does the exact same thing constantly since the start of the series.

me-suspended
James Allen40-banned a few times
longlegs-don't know if they were banned, but they racked up plenty of points
okanica-banned a few times

These are just a few people from our camp who have dealt with the mods' wrath. That's why the other side gets away with whatever they want. Only punish them if they break the rules extremely. Solna should have been suspended ages ago too.

Saying one moderator is biased—okay, that can happen. But saying all the moderators are biased, especially the ones who relentlessly handed out warnings before the suspension, just doesn't make sense.

Well, you could say that if all three mods post in the thread and all three are on Roxelana's team, noticing rule violations only when we are the ones involved.

Plus, let's not forget you were making clones and insulting people via private messages and s

There was one clone in play. That clone was signed with my original username. It's your problem if you want to pressure me for something I didn't do. And that clone was actually used to try and apologize to a user named Moni for some insults sent via PM. She reported me for harassment again, and I got another ban. So, I try to apologize and I get punished again. I lost my cool sometimes because huge lies and untruths were being written. Certain individuals were intentionally trolling and spreading falsehoods.

Regardless, I wasn't expecting my suspension to be lifted. You aren't going to lift it even after six months, even though ambermason16 told me it would be lifted if I behaved on the other forum. So please, just tell me right now that you'll never lift it, instead of letting me hope like a fool. Two and a half months will pass quickly, and I'll start a new thread. You could have at least let me say a dignified goodbye to Ibrahim.

So you've started grouping the mods into little "factions" and "teams," which honestly just feels totally pointless.
I mean, look, a moderator is still just a regular user on Reddit at the end of the day, so they have every right to jump into threads and chat like anyone else—which is exactly what I’ve been doing and what I’ll keep doing.
As for ambermason16 and Beyoncé, if you ask me, they aren't really engaging in these threads as active community members, but rather strictly acting in their capacity as moderators, so this whole argument about bias doesn't really hold any water. And you should probably keep in mind that the higher-ups above the mod team see your canned, repetitive posts, and they see the deleted ones too, so they're definitely aware of any partiality going on.

And just because you were only posting in one specific thread doesn't mean you can't get flagged for the entire sub-forum where that thread lives. You broke the rules to the point where a penalty was warranted, regardless of whether you trashed ten different threads in the sub-forum or just focused all your energy on one.

Starting a new thread to complain about bias every two or three months isn't a solution, and it sure as hell isn't going to speed things up if someone actually does get removed.
Anyway, that's my two cents on the matter.

Later,

So, how long am I actually supposed to wait before you mods decide to lift my partial ban? In two and a half months, it’ll be exactly six months since it started. At that point, if I’ve been following all the rules on the other threads and PDFs, I don't see any reason to keep it in place. What would the excuse be then? ambermason16 told me it would be lifted after six months if I stayed calm and stopped being so argumentative, but now you're already hinting that there's no way it's happening. You'll probably be the first one to object. Do I have to buy this whole site just to get you guys to stop picking on me? I don't have issues with anyone else, it's just you guys over at the soap factory.

You keep lecturing me about breaking the rules. I pointed out a specific user who has been trolling from the start of this series in an incredibly sneaky and rude way, and you didn't even acknowledge it once. Why is that? Is she banned for those recent provocations and trolling? NO!!

And I'm not the only one who thinks you guys are incredibly biased. Everyone in our group feels the same way; I'm just the only one brave enough to say it publicly.

@Walter Brown30, it's almost not even written down, but I did catch one post where she was praising the much-hated Roxelana.
@ambermason16 writes a bit more and doesn't try to hide how much she loves Roxelana.
@you write even more than she does, and it's obvious whose side you're on.

It's unbelievable that none of you three noticed that post by Salt Acid, where she's rudely trolling and provoking everyone while claiming to be objective just because she's on the Ibrahim team. Anyone following this thread knows exactly who Salt Acid is and what she's about. You all miss her provocations completely, yet you constantly quote the thread. But like hawks, you spot our tiniest mistakes immediately. Of course, the bans and points fly instantly. I really don't buy your stories about being objective.

At the end of the day, the drop in thread activity and the significant decrease in posting proves how tired people are of participating when they see how much one side is protected compared to the other. It's not that people aren't posting, it's just that one side is slowly giving up because of the constant warnings and bans.

I'm just sorry I didn't save every single message that led to a ban. Even so, I still have about ten messages left, and I'm not afraid to post them publicly. I can even categorize them into "justified" and "unjustified" bans. Actually, that's exactly what I'm going to do, so everyone can see why I was banned in the first place.

Who says I'm any worse than the sidekick? When you're a Grand Vizier, you're forced to do certain things. No one forced the empire of evil to exist; it had a plan from the start and didn't care about the methods used. That’s the difference. As for the teasing—I'll keep poking fun until the other side stops using nicknames for Ibrahim and Mahidevran. Once they start calling them by their actual names, then I'll start calling the sidekick by his name too.

I actually have to thank ambermason16 for this. My post was relevant to the topic, so I wasn't moved to the off-topic section. People were attacking me, questioning why I support Roxelana and saying I wasn't any better than her. But after I explained myself, I got my points back. Interestingly, those who personally targeted me weren't penalized at all.

That's because they're such a perfect couple. You Roxelana fans, how does it feel knowing your hated Ibrahim had to put up with an idol like Roxelana? She clearly enjoyed it.

They finally got rid of that wicked and sneaky Gul Aga. Now it's time to tighten the noose around the evil queen Roxelana. That fool Mustafa just can't seem to grasp reality.

This is all your doing. I'm not going to pretend to be clueless. It's obvious I've been siding with Team Roxelana a bit, but that was only because of Solna's provocations claiming Ibrahim and Suleiman the Magnificent were lovers, and of course, mocking both of them. Is it really necessary to point out she wasn't banned?

Oh, please, stop acting silly. You and that acid-tongued Solna are the most irritating ones here. What's so hard to understand? Suleiman dies, Mustafa takes the throne. Following tradition and custom, he loses his brother so there's no competition. And what can Ibrahim do? He could rebel and lose his head for being labeled a traitor. Have you all forgotten when Mahidevran threatened him, asking if he was on their side or not? In the end, he could have kicked Roxelana out of the palace instead of hiding with him. That would have been the right move. Instead, he gives it back to her in a "nice" way. I can't wait until Ibrahim is gone so you can redirect all this vitriol toward someone else. You'll find flaws in Mustafa too. Your little duo has ruined this thread with this constant Roxelana worship. People are writing totally illogical things and intentionally twisting everything. On other subreddits, people discuss the show's content normally. Only in this thread has there been this Roxelana obsession from the start. The mods let you get away with it because they probably share your sympathies for Roxelana. Given everything written here, this thread really should be locked.

This is your handiwork. But hey, let me give you some credit. The first two sentences were unnecessary. The rest of the post stays on topic and doesn't stray from the other entries. On other subreddits, a more casual tone is allowed, and you don't get banned just for telling someone their posts are irritating. However, if on the soap factory website it's forbidden to address someone personally, then this post is subject to sanctions because of those first two sentences. Even though I still stand by them, since it involves two users acting in tandem to constantly provoke and troll in a "clever" way. They are capable of twisting an entire event just to incite arguments. All the facts tell you that once Solna was finally banned, peace returned to the thread and we had a normal discussion for a few days.

Unfortunately, this is all I have left in my inbox. I feel bad for Cuckoo that I deleted the notifications about points and bans. If I had known I'd need them, I would have saved everything. For now, I'm keeping ambermason16's notice about the partial penalty and what she wrote to me. I'm holding onto this for six months. I have the legal right to request the removal of the partial penalty after six months if it shows I've improved, and I will improve because I don't have problems anywhere else.

Best wishes to you too.☕

wiredwolf442, looking at your recent posts, it’s pretty clear you either missed the point entirely or you're just refusing to see why you got a partial ban.
If we're talking about the first thing: I don't care—and neither does anyone else here—what your opinion is on some character in a TV show or how they act. That’s irrelevant. What *is* relevant is how you treat the people on this site. You can't just treat people like garbage, which is exactly what you've been doing, and you've been doing it in a really aggressive way. When arguing in the threads wasn't enough for you, you started hounding people in their DMs, which just added more fuel to the fire... and even then, you didn't stop; you actually dragged clones into the mix too. All of this behavior, looking at the big picture, resulted in the serious sanction you received—that partial ban back on January 22nd, two months ago.
Constantly asking when your ban will be lifted isn't going to speed up your return to the main boards.
The earliest your case will even be reviewed is mid-July.

Best,

You’re taking the words right out of my mouth. 🙂

Let's be crystal clear here, wiredwolf442—I don't actually think you're an exceptionally unfit user for this soap factory community... you've been much worse than this before, and there will definitely be more. But honestly, other users have faced far harsher infractions than yours. Your partial ban didn't just fall out of thin air; nobody gets one of these lightly, regardless of the evidence provided. And while you might think you've been behaving lately, your last few posts prove our current decision was the right call. If you're already losing your bearings and your patience here—arguing over how many posts a moderator has in a thread or which team they belong to—just imagine the absolute chaos that would erupt in a main discussion thread for one of these series.

🤷

Furthermore, lifting a partial ban before the six-month mark wouldn't be fair under any circumstances to the people who received even shorter bans, served their time, and moved on.

It's not a death sentence. 🙂 And your ban isn't for life. But since you admitted you're active in a specific thread that clearly gets under your skin, maybe it's better if you jump back in once the series concludes and everyone can discuss things with some actual emotional distance. If you snap or lose control once, you'll end up dumping all that rage in a couple of posts, racking up 1,000 points, and losing your entire account forever. That would be a much bigger tragedy than a temporary hiatus from one specific PDF.

Finally, regarding everyone else's posts: if you spot something that actually violates the rules of this Reddit, please report it. I mean something blatant—not just something that grinds your gears because it contradicts your opinion or someone who's simply annoying, but clear-cut insults, trolling, off-topic spam, etc. No one gets special treatment from the moderators, and certainly not because they share sympathies with Roxelana.. 😁 Even we miss things sometimes. If that happens, your report will help us fix the oversight. 🙂

@Walter Brown30 and @ambermason16

What’s going on with my recent posts?
Did I offend anyone?
Was I being argumentative?
Did I break any specific rules?

Everyone is watching this, so feel free to draw your own conclusions. I'm just having a normal discussion and offering some constructive criticism. How am I supposed to request my partial ban be lifted in the middle of July? It clearly states I received the partial ban on January 22, 2013. That means I can ask to have it cleared by June 22, 2013. That covers the six-month period. Is it really a problem if I dare to speak up and discuss things? Would I even learn anything if I just bowed my head and didn't dare question your decision? This constructive dialogue actually shows how much more mature and level-headed I've become when talking.

Even ambermason16 mentioned that my mistakes weren't that huge and that there are plenty of users out there causing way more trouble than I ever did. But that doesn't help lift my partial ban. And I don't want to wait until the end of the series, since filming goes until Spring 2014—meaning it won't air here until 2015. Are you really going to keep me on ice that long? It doesn't feel fair to block my return after six months if I'm following the rules and staying calm on Reddit.

Here is what ambermason16 sent me back on January 22, 2013:

Due to numerous infractions and behavior that isn't appropriate for Reddit, the moderators and super-mods, with the admin's blessing, have decided to ban you from the soap factory PDF.

You have two options:

Participate in the Reddit community in a polite and constructive manner, which leaves the possibility of your partial ban being lifted after some time passes.

or

Continue with a sarcastic tone in other PDFs, in which case you will be permanently removed from Reddit or receive a permanent ban.

Out of respect for you as a user, we are sending this notice, though it doesn't mean we'll be playing tag in your PMs. The decision has been made. Lay low for a few months, and there is a good chance this partial ban will be lifted too. Our goal isn't to kick you out forever, but we expect you to follow the rules and show the same respect we are showing you.

Best regards.

Well, if I'm respecting you, then please respect me too. If I'm making an effort to chat normally and making sure I don't break any rules, then please seriously consider lifting my partial ban instead of subtly telling me not to get my hopes up. I am participating in a polite and constructive way. In six months, the ball will be in your court. I think the punishment is enough, especially since it prevents me from saying goodbye to Ibrahim with one last great post.

Just one more thing

Finally, regarding everyone else's posts: if you spot something that actually breaks our Reddit rules, please let us know. I don't mean stuff that just rubs you the wrong way because they have an opinion you disagree with, or someone who just gets on your nerves—I mean clear violations like insults, trolling, off-topic spam, etc. Please report those. No one gets special treatment from the mods, especially not because they’re part of Roxelana's inner circle. We're human too, and sometimes things slip through the cracks. Your reports help us catch those mistakes.

I can't actually report anyone's posts since I'm on restricted access and can't even see this thread. I brought up hydrochloric acid as an example, but the three of you are acting like you didn't even read it. Honestly, that feels like textbook trolling and provocation right there. I remember getting warnings for much smaller things. Just imagine if you brought me back and I started claiming I was being objective just because I'm on Roxelana's team, when everyone on this site knows how much I dislike her. Of course, you'd just label that as trolling or trying to start a fight. You should apply that same standard to her. This whole discussion is pointless if we all just turn a blind eye and only see what we want to see. And honestly, it's a bit weird that you're asking me to report posts when you know I'm blocked from that section of the forum. As a mod, you really should know that. Everything feels a bit off... but I guess it's better if I just stay quiet, since there's no point anyway.
