Albertsons vaginal suppositories

Hey there! Quick question... has anyone here actually tried these vaginal suppositories? My OB-GYN recommended them to me today because I’ve got some irritation down there and my discharge is getting pretty heavy. He told me to use them every three days, but the pharmacist at CVS was insisting I should use them daily. Honestly, I think I'll just stick to what the doctor said... anyway, I wanted to see if any of you have used these before? What were you using them for? Thanks 🙂

Look, from what I understand—and I’ve actually used them for HPV—those aren't meant for treating any kind of inflammation at all.

Those are typically prescribed for mild changes caused by HPV, as the suppositories work by essentially exfoliating the affected surface tissue.

I'm not entirely sure how much they'll actually help with that specific lesion, though. Wouldn't it be more effective if your doctor just applied a topical solution, maybe something like Albertsons antiseptic or a similar agent? Since he can actually see exactly where the lesion is located, he could target it directly. With these suppositories, you never really know if they're going to dissolve and hit the right spot.

Anyway, I truly hope you get this sorted out quickly—and honestly, I'd definitely follow your doctor's advice regarding the every-third-day schedule rather than listening to the pharmacist.

If I recall correctly, a few women mentioned using similar products for lesions, but I can't quite remember what their actual results were. 🤷

I don't know how much that’s actually going to help with the wound... Honestly, wouldn't it be better to just have your OB-GYN apply some Albertsons antiseptic or something directly? At least they can see exactly where the irritation is and hit the spot... This way, you never really know if the suppository is even going to melt properly or hit the right area...

I think a few girls here mentioned using those Albertsons vaginal wipes to deal with tearing, but honestly... I can't for the life of me remember if they actually worked or not... 🤷

I tried using those Albertsons vaginal wipes because of a small lesion. That little thing was causing this increased alkaline discharge, which then triggered constant infections. They definitely helped me at first, though maybe just temporarily. I actually went about six months without any issues, but then everything just came right back. I guess a more permanent fix would be cryotherapy—you know, freezing it—or cauterization to burn the lesion away. Since I'm dealing with that exact same issue, I’m actually scheduled to go in for cauterization in about two weeks or so.

electricridge20, I am uncertain if it is premature to ask, but have those medicated suppositories actually provided you any relief? My gynecologist diagnosed me with a cervical lesion and insisted that most women deal with this, claiming it is nothing to be concerned about and requires no intervention... "nothing to be concerned about"??? Yet, I am dealing with constant discharge, and I am expected to simply accept this as my normal state of being because apparently, it isn't a serious issue...

Regardless, I intend to seek a second opinion from another specialist once my period concludes, but in the interim, I am curious to know if those Albertsons suppositories are truly effective? What has your personal experience been with them?

I just used the first one. My doctor told me to go every three days, so today is number two. No major changes yet, but honestly, it feels like there's slightly less discharge already... I'll let everyone know how it goes once I'm done with the course. 😉
Ugh, man, this discharge is starting to drive me crazy. I tried taking Linex Lady but it didn't do squat. Fingers crossed this stuff actually works...😕

Honestly, I don't feel a single thing 😕>
No weird tissue or anything bizarre coming out of me, despite all the horror stories on other forums and even what the instructions say. The only thing is I have to wear a pad because I feel some fluid leaking out right after I use them, but nothing major or gross...
I mean, once I did see something on my pad that looked kind of like chewed-up bubble gum 🙄, so maybe that was some kind of peeling
But then again, maybe that's just because I'm only using them every three days instead of daily like I should be

None of this stuff is working, I’m actually about to lose my mind!! I seriously can't deal with going back to the OBGYN again when it’s pretty damn obvious nothing they suggest is doing a thing 😢

Hmm, I was just thinking—is it possible that your symptoms haven't actually cleared up because most of the medication leaked out too quickly? It might be for that very same reason why you didn't experience much peeling at all. When I was using them myself, I noticed that if I stood up too soon after application, everything would just leak out immediately, and on those specific days, the peeling effect wasn't nearly as intense. I tended to use them every other day. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how effective they truly were for me, since my appointment with my doctor isn't for another three weeks.

I was there, but that wasn't actually my reason.
To be perfectly honest, I haven't heard much about people being so casual with their preferences when it comes to a candidate—though, I suppose she made quite an impression once she started associating herself with Albertsons.
Maybe things will settle down after that. 🙂

I’ve been struggling with this yeast infection nightmare for nine months straight now—literally without a single break—and honestly, my gynecologists aren't taking me seriously at all. I was browsing a thread about yeast infections earlier and saw someone mention using Albertsons products.

This was over three years ago—well, technically twice, if you want to be precise. The application process wasn't exactly painful or anything, though I suppose there was that standard, slightly uncomfortable sensation when they were tapping around near my cervix with a soaked cotton swab 😁. Honestly, nothing out of the ordinary.

I didn't experience any side effects at all (not that I hadn't already dealt with podophyllin applications and cryotherapy previously); even my doctor mentioned there might be some minor spotting after the second round, but that never actually happened. I had completely forgotten about the whole thing until one day—while I was just cleaning up—that I noticed some sloughing tissue (🤣), sort of a whitish color. To me, those symptoms sound like a classic yeast infection. Maybe try picking up some Monistat at a CVS.

My OB-GYN just handed me some Plimycol cream... I'm kind of skeptical if it'll actually handle the discharge since it's strictly for external use, you know? :/
