I’m reaching out because I could really use some guidance here.

I was wondering if there is an alternative diagnostic method available in the States that is just as reliable as
a coronary angiogram when it comes to assessing cardiovascular health?

I’ve been dealing with angina pectoris, and after a series of quite extensive tests, my doctor has recommended that I undergo
a coronary angiogram.

Is there any kind of substitute—specifically something non-invasive—that offers similar accuracy?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Nah, I wouldn't say that. If you actually want a serious, deep dive into what's going on with your coronary arteries, you’ve gotta go through with a full coronary angiogram. People talk about that CT contrast angiography thing, but honestly, it isn't really a substitute for the real deal; it's more like what doc_1 was mentioning in that other thread a while back—it basically just works as a preliminary screening tool since it doesn't have the same level of precision as a "real" angiogram.

Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot about MSCT angiography, and I'm starting to think
it might be a perfectly viable alternative, mainly because the idea of undergoing invasive procedures genuinely terrifies me. I’m curious, though—just how reliable is this method? I’ve heard that here in the States, doctors pretty much use this as the first line of defense for screening cardiovascular issues.
