Hey there.

We’re just a small—actually, let’s be honest, microscopic—group of people operating under the name "AnbuHQ US." Our little project involves translating anime. We aren't doing this for the money; we’re mostly just trying to give the younger generation here something a bit more substantial to watch than just endless loops of Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, or those other mediocre shows that used to clutter up American television.
Right now, we translate from English to American. It’s admittedly a step down from translating directly from Japanese, but our current resources are... limited. 🤷 (None of us are actually taking Japanese classes, unless you count picking up bits and pieces while watching the shows ourselves.)

I won't drone on forever. If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to drop a comment here, or better yet, head over to: AnbuHQ US to see what we actually do.

Of course, if anyone is interested in joining the fold, we’re always looking for new members who have a handle on American grammar, English, video encoding, or even just web design for fun. Experience helps, sure, but you don't need a PhD in linguistics to help out. 👍 You just need to actually want to do it.

That’s an interesting thought, I guess, but honestly... who would actually prefer watching anime with American subtitles instead of just sticking to the English ones? 🤷

(Maybe it's just people who don't know English very well?)

Well, yeah, that’s the primary goal, plain and simple. It’s honestly depressing how many younger, educated people—I’m talking high schoolers and even some college students—don't have a clue when it comes to English, let alone American grammar. We've definitely seen a few examples of that lately.
In the meantime, we've undergone an internal rebranding and changed our name to: Subway. You can now find us at our "new" link. 🙂We’ve also picked up a little extra help, which means we can finally focus on producing higher-quality translations since one of our friends actually knows Japanese.
That said, we could always use more hands on deck whenever they're available.
