Bent wire

I’m currently wearing fixed braces, and I’ve noticed the wire has actually warped—it’s sort of bowed inward between the units. I’m in a bit of a bind because I can't exactly go back to my orthodontist; the bracket has already snapped three times now, and he’s honestly reached his limit with me. At this point, I feel like if I showed up at the clinic again, he’d probably kick me out of the office entirely. My best guess is that the wire bent when I bit into something a little too hard. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing, and am I looking at any major complications if I just leave it as is?

I honestly don't get this: He would kick you out if you showed up, and now he's actually mad at you???? 😲
I wear fixed braces myself. I’ve only had the clasp come loose once, but the wire has popped out of the bracket multiple times. Every single time, I just headed straight to my orthodontist to have them slide the wire back in or glue the bracket down... these are minor hiccups that happen to EVERYONE wearing braces. I really don't see why your dentist is making such a big deal out of it... just go see him and let him straighten the wire... problem solved!!!

I wear fixed braces myself, and while my bracket has only come unglued once, I've had the wire pop out of the ring more times than I care to count. In those instances, I simply swung by my orthodontist's office to have them thread the wire back in or glue the bracket down. These are minor technical hiccups that happen to everyone dealing with orthodontic hardware; I find the idea of a dentist being genuinely incensed over such trivialities quite baffling. Just head into the clinic and let them straighten the wire—it’s really that simple.

But it hasn't even shifted that much, and I fail to see why I'd need a professional adjustment unless the whole thing actually snaps.

Suit yourself, but if I were in your shoes, I’d definitely go see that cranky dentist instead😬
