So, I’m on the hunt for some decent gaming headsets under $117 and I was wondering if anyone here actually has any real-world experience with them or if they're just a total waste of money

I feel like Logitech is a bit overrated. It's fine, I guess, but nothing special.
I've heard some good things about Speedlink's Medusa NX. I spotted them on sale recently, though I didn't catch the exact price.
If you're looking for high-quality audio, you might also want to consider the Creative Technology Fatal1ty series; they offer a USB version with its own onboard sound card too.

If you're just looking for headphones, I think many Sennheiser's models tend to have the edge.

As for the standard version—the one using traditional audio jacks—I can personally vouch for the Creative Fatal1ty headset. I’ve been using it for a while now, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with it. 🙂

I’d personally vouch for the USB version 😍 which is basically the exact same product.

Those links have user reviews on them. Just grab whichever one's cheaper; it's all the same crap, just good crap. 🙂

I think I prefer the second link.
