Christopher Lambert

Is this guy seriously the worst actor we've seen in the last two decades, or is he just cursed to always land the absolute garbage roles? Seriously, I tried sitting down to watch Beowulf on Fox just yesterday, but man, I couldn't even get through it. It was an absolute train wreck... I don't know, maybe I'm wrong and there's someone even worse out there, but right now, nobody else comes to mind besides him.

Isn't it Lambert... look, I'll admit he's churned out a mountain of absolute garbage lately—heaven knows why, especially since the guy always promised he had more in him...

I'd say there are just two films where he actually nailed the role:

- SUBWAY (1985)
- THE LAST EMPEROR (1987)

He kind of lost his way after that, but who knows? Maybe if Tarantino gives him a shot, we'll see a real comeback.🙄

I'm with you there. Even in Tarzan, he wasn't half bad. He might have even worked in the first installment of those immortal classics—I can't recall the title offhand. But the second and (I assume, though I haven't seen them) third parts? Absolute garbage.

Look, he was talented, but I'm convinced the shifting magnetic fields of the Earth combined with the positioning of Mars and Jupiter completely unraveled him; now he’s just stuck acting in bottom-tier movies. Personally, I found Beowulf so spectacularly terrible that it actually became enjoyable... and honestly, his best work comes from the music by Juno Reactor (who, let's be real, just sells their damn tracks to any movie they can to line their pockets 😁), while everyone else is out partying... I mean, when I see sword fights set to techno, how am I supposed to hate the movie? 😁 😁

On another note, Highlander is a fantastic film and his performance there was solid. Plus, that Queen soundtrack is absolutely legendary 🙏

Look, he definitely had his moments. For me, his best work was probably in *Subway*—he really nailed that role.

Oh yeah... I totally blanked on the Tarzan legend.

The guy is absolutely terrible!!! His "good" movies are actually nightmares...
Someone brought up "Subway"; let me tell you, that movie is an absolute disaster. And nobody seems to be talking about the historical epic "Druid"🙂

Ps I watched "Beowulf" twice yesterday, and twice before that!!!! Why? Because I honestly couldn't wrap my head around how anyone could film such total garbage; who on earth is the target audience for this stuff???? Look, I can appreciate trashy flicks and cheap action movies all day, but the crew behind this film actually seemed to think they were making something cool...

His acting is basically at the level of a freshman at the Juilliard School.

Trash classics have a strange way of affecting people. 😁 This time, I actually managed to restrain myself from starting it, because whenever I see it, I feel like a deer frozen in the headlights on an Interstate highway at three in the morning: I just stand there, paralyzed with a glazed stare, letting the sheer stupidity of the film knock me flat on my face.

But Rhona Mitra is cool. And that former Playmate playing Beowulf's... OH MAN! There, I've officially spoiled the plot for you! How are you ever going to enjoy it now?!!! Good grief!

By the way, regarding Lambert, I find myself constantly repeating the thesis from those old sci-fi message boards: Christopher Lambert is the official gold standard for bad acting.

I sat down yesterday and finally watched the film properly (naked, beer in one hand, remote in the other).
All I can say is that when I grow up, I want to be just like Roland.
Roland is the LAW. Any guy who can sneak up on the White Wolf while wearing nothing but a furnace and a cloak made of chainmail—all while dragging a seven-foot two-handed longsword behind him—deserves an Academy Award for Stealth performance. I'm awarding it to him on behalf of the Academy right now.

And yeah, Second rule of Fantasy: It's never too cold for Cleavage.

His refinement isn't exactly obvious to everyone... To some, it might look like a chronic lack of talent, but true connoisseurs know better. Future generations will surely come to appreciate his... ahem, "acting"...

Lambert had so much potential as an actor, but he really ended up sabotaging his own career with projects like Beowulf, Mortal Kombat 😎, and those Highlander II sequels.

He did pull off a solid performance in Potez Hunter (Knight Moves), though.
