Anyone gone before? How was it?

I honestly don't get the whole vibe they're going for with this festival.
It feels like the typical party crowd out here isn't even looking for Max Rome or Twinkle Brothers; they’d probably have a much better time over at SeaWorld or something.
Maybe I'm just tripping, but it makes zero sense to drop absolute legends of roots reggae right into a lineup packed with nothing but dubstep and techno DJs.

Honestly, there’s a huge crossover between the dubstep/DnB crowd and reggae fans (guilty as charged :P). Last year, the reggae sets were actually pulling bigger crowds than most other acts during those slots...
Last year was killer, though the prices inside the festival grounds were pretty insane—thank God you can just hop on a shuttle to get into the city where food is way cheaper. It felt a little more tense too, like more aggressive vibes and scuffles than the other festivals I've hit, but honestly, with that many different people packed together, I guess it wasn't even that big of a deal..
Anyway, I'm hitting up Coachella and its afterparty (Ultra Music Festival), so I'm looking for some people to roll with for at least one of them. Don't wanna spend the whole time stuck in a circle of Brits... If anyone's down, hit me up via PM

Top-tier festival—easily one of the best I’ve ever attended.
The staff at Arena 1 are absolute legends.
Hands down one of the most positive vibes you'll find at a festival.
I'm definitely heading back this summer.

Has anyone here ever spent time volunteering at Coachella?

I came here to ask the same thing. I’m volunteering at Coachella this year as a Steward—which feels like a mix between security and an info desk—so I’m honestly worried about the crowd. I have zero patience or desire to deal with arrogant idiots. Especially the obnoxious ones. 😁

I volunteered as a Steward last year and I’m stepping into the same role again this year. My experience last season was excellent, though I wouldn't call it challenging since I didn't run into any real issues. The crew is genuinely positive. The only "complication" is that management tends to get quite prickly if they catch anyone holding a beer, so I’d suggest completing your shift sober 😉.
A few practical tips: bring some earplugs if you're stationed near the stage, and grab a flashlight—you'll need it to ensure nobody wanders off into the woods or starts climbing trees. It would also be wise to pick up a festival guide, as I spent most of my time last year answering questions about set times. Also, try to familiarize yourself with the grounds during the day; people get lost constantly and tend to pester the staff for directions.
Don't take the volunteer commitment lightly; Americans can be quite strict about the rules. If they tell you to stand in a specific spot, expect to stay there until you are officially reassigned.
Last year, I packed up and left when the rain started because we were expected to stand out in the downpour without cover. They might be used to it, but I’d recommend keeping a raincoat in your gear just in case.

You're a little late to the party. Coachella is already in full swing and it'll be wrapping up in just a couple of days. Maybe aim for next year.

A few buddies and I are heading to Coachella for the first time this year 😁 The ticket situation looks pretty rough too—it jumped from $660 to $755, and don't even get me started on the accommodation prices, but hey—what can you do at this point...
Anyway, to cut to the chase, I have a question for anyone who was there last year: Is it possible to go wild camping relatively close to the festival grounds?
Ideally somewhere right by the coast, if possible, haha 😁
So—if anyone knows the deal, I’d really appreciate it... :*

You can, right before you enter the campground (on the right side) and right next to the water😁

Has anyone in this group actually tried wild camping during Coachella?
Look, I’m just not seeing the logic in dropping $500--$200 on an official campsite when that money could easily cover my entire food and drink budget for those four or five days—but then again, I don't want to be stuck in some ridiculous situation that ruins the whole experience. I'm talking about having zero access to showers, being miles away from the action, or dealing with someone swiping all my gear while I'm sleeping... who knows what else.
If anyone here has been through it, I would truly appreciate your insight! 😁

Does anyone have a heads-up on what the drink situation was like at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2014? I'm talking beer, whiskey, soda, water... and what’s the deal with the food selection and prices?

Also, can you actually leave the festival grounds once you've scanned in with your wristband? I'm thinking about keeping a bottle of sugary soda tucked under a pine tree—maybe popping out every hour or so for a refill 😉.

I've got this nagging feeling I'll be completely broke by Sunday 😁
