Complaint about thread closure

I’m filing an appeal against placidjackal36 for shutting down the "effects of marijuana on the brain" thread. Honestly, the whole thing was closed because of my own stupid post, which wasn't even meant to derail the conversation—it was just a quick response to someone else. Users like R1char and yabooka have put up some really solid, relevant points on this topic, so there's zero reason to kill the thread when there's still plenty left to discuss, explain, and prove. I'm hoping you guys can reopen it. If my post is the problem, just delete it and let the discussion get back on track...
If you're going to keep it locked, at least give us a real explanation why. Thanks.

I shut this down because we don't tolerate claims like "marijuana and bratwurst are basically the same thing" over in the natural science department. You might be able to pull that kind of logic in spirituality, but not here.
I’ve been hanging around this forum for five years now, and on other boards, even longer. At this point, I feel like an old professor who’s already seen every cheating trick in the book during finals week. I can predict exactly what people are going to say, I know all the catchphrases, I recognize the arguments, and I can spot the types of people walking through the door from a mile away. I’m not interested in watching a broken record play out, and I certainly don't want a massive flame war—it's just unnecessary stress that eats away at you like kidney stones. This thread had lost its purpose.
I could have handed out the ban hammers and wiped the posts entirely, but I decided to go the peaceful route instead. This thread isn't being reopened, at least not anytime soon.

I know what people are going to say, I know the catchphrases, I know the arguments, and I know exactly what type of person is going to show up. I don't want to see a repeat of this. I don't want a flame war or some digital kidney stone situation. This thread just stopped making sense.

Oof, so 5 years on this forum gives you the right to act like you've got it all figured out? Man. I love a good know-it-all... Btw, if my post bothered you so much, why didn't you just delete it or give me a warning card? Or better yet, let me respond, or at least explain why I can't compare carcinogens to other toxins. Just a flat "you can't compare them"... If you're so sure, why didn't you prove it in your own posts? But hey, when you don't have an answer, it's definitely easier to just kill the thread... Look, I'm not saying I'm 100% right, but I at least want proof. If you can't show me, maybe someone else can—that's literally what this damn forum is for. It shouldn't be a place where you shut everything down the second you see a post you don't like. I honestly don't get you. Having the power to close threads, issue warnings, or hand out bans is a responsibility, NOT a privilege you get to use to shut down interesting discussions whenever you feel like it.

Alright, enough with the drama. This topic doesn't belong on NASA, it’s totally off-base for what this sub is about. Nobody is actually using Science-based arguments here, which is why the thread was locked. If you want to talk about weed and hot dogs, go find another sub that isn't dedicated to Science.
