I wouldn't go as far as calling it "irrelevant," because that implies there's some inherent value judgment being made, which isn't really the point here. It’s more that the boundary has just become incredibly blurry and washed out, which is a textbook symptom of postmodernism, but that doesn't mean this new fuzziness is somehow better than when we actually had a clear distinction to work with...

Look, I think ironcrane7 is being way too dramatic calling the border shift "so misplaced." To me, that feels like a massive overstatement... whether you move the line or leave it right where it is, it’s basically just a neutral observation of how things stand. It isn't inherently good or bad, it just reflects the reality of the situation, period.
