Earplugs

Stopped by Walmart downtown today, and the clerk told me they don't even carry masks... So I ended up picking up a cotton one at Cosmo over on Jurišićev Street... They had polyester ones and even those gel-filled versions too... All priced exactly the same. My concern is whether it’ll let too much light through; the arch around the nose area isn't particularly wide, so it might not sit right when trying to cover the area under my eyes...

I picked up that one from Cosmo and it’s been great; it doesn't let much light through.
Next time, I think I'll go with the gel version, though I'm still not entirely sure what the big deal is about it. 🙂

That gel mask is supposedly for "relaxing" your eyes—you can pop it in the freezer for a few minutes to cool it down, or toss it in warm water to soothe them... either way, I’ve tried it myself and it’s absolute garbage 👎

I ended up buying this one by mistake instead of the other version, mostly because I fell for the hype thinking it was some revolutionary new wellness hack 😬 😳

Ladies, I am seriously getting the best sleep of my life with this mask. It’s an absolute game changer! 🙏 👍

Honestly, I'm getting pretty fed up with this H&M sleep mask. As soon as I pay, I'm heading straight to Cosmo. Or maybe downtown to Walmart if they have them there. 😕
To be fair, this mask was a total lifesaver just a few weeks ago. I was on a business trip staying at this hotel that didn't have any heavy blackout curtains—just those flimsy thin ones. Around 5 AM, the sun started beaming right through. 😲 So, I threw the mask on and went right back to sleep like a baby. 😉

I finally picked up a sleep mask from Walmart—it’s actually quite substantial, provides excellent coverage around the eyes, blocks out all light, feels soft, and the headband isn't overly tight at all 🎉

Now, if only the sun would wake me up instead 😛

Which Walmart are you talking about? Where exactly is it located, and what’s the damage to the wallet?

Honestly, I am in desperate need of an eye mask myself! I usually just pick up some earplugs at CVS, but man, those things are a total lifesaver. They were my only salvation last summer because I have to sleep with the window wide open to avoid suffocating from the heat, but then the light hits me, and then there’s the constant noise—dogs barking at 5:00 AM, and since I live right by the coast, there's just endless ambient noise all night long! I used to be able to sleep through anything without a second thought, but lately, I haven't had a decent mask. For the past few years, I've actually been using a thick headband—the kind you wrap around your head—and it works surprisingly well! But still, I really miss having a proper mask. I am DESPERATE!!! I even tried to sew one myself, but it was a complete disaster!!!

The Walmart in Downtown, $5.25 (if I recall correctly). I haven't actually gone out shopping myself, so I couldn't tell you its exact placement...

On another note, what kind of earplugs do you guys usually pick up? At my local CVS, they only carry these single pairs of yellow, foam ones $1.75. I was wondering if there’s anything more budget-friendly out there? Or maybe just something sold in a larger pack, so I don't have to keep buying these individual sets for $1.75. 😁

Two nights in a row now, same exact thing—I go to sleep wearing the mask, and I wake up without it... either I rip it off in my sleep, or it just slides right off because I toss and turn way too much...

Those five-cent ones are great. I've been using them for years. They're the only way I can sleep since my husband sounds like he's running a chainsaw all night. 😳
I don't know how long you usually use them, but mine last me about three weeks to a month. I'm not sure if there are any larger packs available for a better price.

So, does absolutely nobody here have window shutters?

I have shutters on my windows, but during the summer, I have to keep them wide open just to breathe, and then the sun starts peeking through around 4 or 5 in the morning and wakes me up instantly! I can't sleep because of the light, yet I can't close the shutters or I'll suffocate from the heat.😠 😠 😠 !

Look, cotton swabs are meant for short-term use... I swap mine out every single week. The idea of using the same pair for three or four weeks is just unthinkable to me—it seems incredibly unhygienic. 🙂
Plus, the price is actually pretty reasonable, I think, if you're buying them $1.75 weekly...
As for the face mask—I woke up with it on my head for the first time this morning! 👋

In the next few days, I'm going to try wearing the same ones for two days straight. 🙂

Yeah... I pretty much swap out my earplugs about once a week too😎

...last week I picked up some Moldex ones from $6.75; they're rubbery with a little string attached, so I thought, "Great, these'll last forever, and I can even wash them..." and honestly, they work—I can barely hear a thing...

but man, they are rock hard, definitely not meant for sleeping👎 ...silicone ones are always the best, I'll have to go hunting for those again

And where do you even put the elastic? In your hair? Personally, I just tuck mine under my hair so it doesn't budge no matter what.
