ELISA Test Results: Any advice on interpreting these?

Hi there!

I have an appointment scheduled for a CAST ELISA allergy test for canned goods in August. It's coming up pretty fast, but I honestly have no idea what that actually entails or how it works. Is it some kind of skin prick test, or something else entirely?

If anyone could walk me through the process, I’d really appreciate it. I'm feeling a little nervous because I'm totally in the dark here.

There is really no reason to worry; for a CAST ELISA allergen screening, they just draw one or two vials of blood and that is the entire process.

How should I prep for this test? Do I need to show up fasting or what? Also, am I supposed to cut out my anti-shaming meds before the exam?

Do I need to fast that day? No.
Should I stop using anti-shampoo before the test? Absolutely not.

I'm currently taking Xanax 25mg three times a day (half a pill each time), so I was worried I might need to cut it out before this screening just to make sure the results don't come back wonky.
