Escape Room (2019)

So, what’s the verdict on this movie?

It’s pretty cliché and honestly kind of mid, but it’s worth a watch just because the production design is actually solid. You can tell they put a lot of work into the sets.

this whole idea reminds me of that movie "Dice"

I honestly thought the movie was fantastic. Sure, there’s a little bit of Dice involved, and maybe a tiny hint of Puzzle horror sprinkled in there, too. But the tension? It’s relentless from the opening scene right through to the end. It really leans into building that thick, heavy atmosphere rather than just relying on cheap jump scares.
I’d definitely recommend giving it a watch. 👍

Just bumping this thread because I wanted to share my thoughts—it was actually a really solid movie. Personally, I’d give it a 7.5 out of 10; honestly, a very decent watch. 😉

The movie is quite good, I suppose. It doesn't try too hard with deep philosophy, which is fine. The theme works, and the plot stays on track. It could be better, obviously, but it is definitely worth watching... I suspect they might follow the Saw model and churn out five or six sequels. We probably need movies like this just to switch our brains off.

It’s basically just the end, so go find the sequel. I'm actually pretty curious about the whole thing—it feels like there's some massive organization behind the scenes if they're coming up with and testing rooms like this.

Honestly, I am so incredibly hyped for the sequel. 🙂

It was an interesting film, though I personally expected a bit less brutality and more focus on psychological games and facing one's own fears and traumas, much like in The Game. Regardless, it's worth a watch. 🙂

Just finished the sequel. Honestly? Not nearly as good as the first one—the puzzles felt way more basic and the plot was kind of a letdown—but still worth a watch if you have some time. 5/10.
