Kate Gonzalez said:Well, we finally pulled the trigger and booked Volar, so now we wait... I've heard from a few independent sources that they’re actually quite talented, so let's see if they can truly deliver 🙂

I feel so much better knowing you guys hired them too 😁... we're still debating it, but I think we're going to go through with it. They're sending us a DVD of some past weddings by mail since we aren't living in San Francisco... have you ever worked with them? Do they require a deposit?

Has anyone ever heard of that makeup artist, Tina Kalinic?
I haven't been able to find much about her online—nothing really pops up when I search—but I heard through the grapevine that she’s actually pretty amazing...
Does anyone have any other recommendations for good artists?

Is it Kalinic or Katalinic? I know a Tina... though I can't quite recall which surname she uses right now. She does incredible work, but there's a catch—she doesn't travel to your place, and she exclusively works with Dior products.
If you're looking for someone, I'd also suggest Luciana Spajic. She’s done my makeup a few times, and honestly, Tina has too.

David Garcia6 said:Thanks for the kind words, gorgeous, but we're really just waiting on our guitarist to get his act together and find some motivation first.🤮 🙂...once we finally hit that stride, though, we'll be the greatest band in the entire galaxy.🤣

Good grief, give me a break.
Honestly, the funniest part is watching the competition lose their minds—especially when they only have a single post to their name. I think at that point, everyone pretty much gets the message.🙄 😉

Hey everyone, just checking in—another new face here... 🙂
Does anyone happen to have contact info for Antonija Guc or Lisjak? I see people around here raving about them... thanks.

Hey, does anyone have a recommendation for a woman who could sing Ave Maria at my church wedding?
Thanks!

Honestly, maybe just check with the church where you're getting married. Most of them have their own choirs and soloists ready to go.🤷

I think that’s definitely her, since I’ve heard that rumor about her only working with Dior too...
So, you're saying she's a go? Thanks! 🙂

Jerry Sanchez53 said:We actually hired both a band and a folk ensemble, and honestly, it turned out to be the perfect combination. 👍
The folk musicians were there during the more intimate moments—when we were moving around or visiting his place—and later, when everyone moved to the main hall, both groups performed. The folk musicians would move from table to table while the band took their breaks. We received nothing but enthusiastic reactions from the guests.
It is a bit more expensive, I suppose, but I would recommend it if you want a true show. 😍

Could someone please share the name of that folk group? I was thinking that a similar setup might work well for my own event too.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a female singer who could do an Ave Maria at a church wedding? I guess I'm just looking for someone really good!
Thanks!

Of course I checked that first! I guess I did. 🙂

So, if anyone has any recs, please let me know—you can even just shoot me a DM. Thanks a ton!

Greetings! 👋
I am looking for someone who has held their wedding ceremony at the St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City—could you please let me know if it is at all possible to bring our own vocal group to perform something other than Ave Maria?
Furthermore, is there any way for me to have an influence over the cathedral's decor? To be perfectly honest, I find the current aesthetic quite dreadful—not to mention the seating, which isn't even properly arranged; they simply place these rather trivial arrangements around the altar (and while I realize taste is subjective, still...)
I have been considering whether I might be able to track down the contact information for couples marrying on the same day—since this is such a close-knit community where everyone seems to know everyone else... 😉—so that we might collectively propose a solution. Perhaps even offer a little incentive to get our way... though, of course, I am merely joking. 🤣🤣

Many thanks indeed. 🙏

You can just check out their website; there are a few videos posted there that should give you an idea. I went to see them perform once, and the guys seemed perfectly fine to me...they took a $100 deposit.

The DVD finally arrived and we're totally happy with it. No more second-guessing... Volar is playing on November 13th, 2010, and that's that. One less thing to worry about. 😁

The guys are incredible, seriously, no complaints whatsoever!!!!!! They played for a friend of mine once, and I actually handed them an extra hundred bucks on the spot just because she was so thrilled with the performance!

I remember some girl posted her thoughts on them recently... though I can't quite recall if it was in the thread about where to rent or buy a dress, or maybe that one about all the headaches girls run into at bridal shops. I'm not entirely sure which one it was, but it definitely wasn't here. From what I gather, she wasn't exactly thrilled with the experience either...🤷

I stopped by there about a month ago. The dresses are decent—I mean, I think I could probably find something I liked in almost any shop, honestly. I didn't make an appointment or anything; I just sort of wandered in by chance. There was a young girl working there, and she was perfectly fine. Since it was my very first bridal shop visit, I wasn't exactly ready to be overly critical or start singing their praises just yet, but I guess I'd say they're okay.
