So, where exactly is her studio located?🙂

It's over in downtown Austin, at 8 Benbrook Street 🙂 it's that big blue building right above the high school 😉

Paul King5 said:So you're saying even with 150 people it didn't feel cramped? Honestly, I was stressing because we're looking at about 120 guests here and I kept picturing everyone squished together, tables everywhere... maybe too many tables. Putting the dessert station and the DJ/photographers in the foyer is actually a solid move. Definitely gonna consider that! 😁
Thanks, I'm feeling way better now. I'm done overthinking this!

Oh, wait—I need to correct myself. I just found out today that our total count is actually 138 when you include the band and the photographers, but there will be 128 actual guests in the hall... so, yeah... just wanted to give you the updated numbers.

Does anyone have the expertise to compare the makeup styles of Tina Kalinić and Ana Grgić? I’m still going back and forth on who to hire for my wedding day look...
Also, regarding the cake—should I go with a three-tier or a four-tier design? And more importantly, does anyone have a recommendation for a great baker that isn't $500? Thanks!

If I can offer a little recommendation, you really should look into makeup artist Ivan Češljar (you can track her down on Meta). I actually wanted to book her for my own wedding, but to my absolute heartbreak, she was already booked up for my date—and that was after I’d reached out a full year in advance... So, I ended up talking my maid of honor into letting Ivan Češljar handle our looks for her engagement party instead. My bridesmaid was also having a hard time deciding who to hire; she was looking at names like Ana Grgić, Tina Kalinić, or even Amadea... honestly, the rates those artists charge are just astronomical. Once she realized those prices were completely out of reach, she took my advice and went with Ivan Češljar, and she hasn't regretted it for a second... we both looked absolutely stunning, and I'm already looking for any excuse to call her again. She does looks for $50, which comes to 200 including the lash extensions.

So, they went ahead and dropped the venue and the band, and now all I'm left with for this "first phase" is the photographer. Does anyone actually know a photographer who shoots in a documentary style? And I mean *real* photojournalism—I don't want any of that heavy-handed Adobe Photoshop nonsense, endless posing sessions, or those staged, meaningless shots that feel totally fake. Everything I see online lately is just... gross. I want someone who’s going to capture the wedding for what it actually is—the people, the vibe, the raw energy. Also, skip the fancy books and albums; I'd much rather pick out the shots myself and put the album together so I'm not stuck with some stranger's "artistic" vision. Is there even such a thing as a photographer like that anymore? Help!

Does anyone have a good recommendation for an accordion player? 🙂

I actually know quite a few accordion players myself—one from Boise, one out in Santa Monica, and another from Chicago... All three of them have played at my family celebrations before, and my husband even surprised my best friend with the guy from Chicago as a wedding gift when she tied the knot. If you're interested, I can send you his number via private message...

Does anyone happen to have a number for the Democratic Party? Also, I was wondering if there's any kind of video or recording out there somewhere that shows them actually playing—I'd love to catch a glimpse of their performance style if anything exists.

Hey there! I could use some help—I know this has probably been asked a million times already, but I’m really not in the mood to dig through 500 pages of old threads... 😉 Does anyone have recommendations for a few photographers for a party out in California? Looking for people who aren't totally overpriced but still do great work. I'm not actually from the area, but the wedding is happening there, so I'm honestly pretty lost on where or who to even look for 😉

Hi there—I’m a new member here. I have my graduation party coming up next September, and while I’ve already settled on a DJ, I’m still weighing my options for live music... 😉Has anyone here actually seen Mirko bura perform at an event? A friend recommended them to me, saying they’re absolutely fantastic... so if anyone has any intel or personal experiences with their set, please let me know!

Well, you could always just ask the bridal boutique where you bought your dress to order one for you, assuming they don't throw one in for free with the gown, right?
But honestly, I ended up just grabbing some lace from Victoria's Secret and a little blue ribbon to DIY my own $6.75 garter, mostly because the shop I usually go to was closed down

I'll send over a contact for the Democratic Party shortly. I don't happen to have any recordings I could pass along to you, but trust me, the guy is absolutely incredible when he picks up an instrument... I'll shoot you the specifics in a DM.

I could really use some advice here!!
I was wondering if anyone knows what the go-to etiquette is for gift-giving when families meet for the first time out in California. His parents actually brought me some gold jewelry when we first met, and now that it's our turn to head over to their place, I'm feeling a bit lost. I have absolutely no clue what the local customs are for this kind of thing. What would be an appropriate gesture for us to bring along?
