northerntinker13 said:Amy Kern, I’ve got a wedding coming up next summer over in Grasha. They told us we could fit 150 people outside, but the whole thing is a gamble because if it rains, there's no way everyone fits inside the hall. We decided to cap it at 100, and they actually suggested a DJ instead of a live band—which was our plan anyway—since a DJ takes up way less space. Honestly, if you have a band, 90 people is probably the sweet spot for staying indoors. Also, just a heads-up: if you go with the terrace, you kind of have to rent out the whole area. You don't strictly *have* to, but there's a chance other guests will wander onto the other part of the patio for drinks, which would cost us an extra $500. Prices vary depending on what you drink (we went with the standard menu for $47), but they're super chill about you bringing your own bottles. If you need more details, just shoot me a DM 🙂

Also, I could use some help—does anyone have suggestions for where I can put about 60 guests (somewhere near San Francisco works too)? Does anyone know of any rental houses or hotels that won't absolutely fleece you on the nightly rates? Thanks so much!

Thanks so much, this info is awesome! 👍

I'm gonna wait for 😁's reply too, since I'll have about 20 guests dealing with the exact same 'issue' 🙂

I would like to extend my thanks for the information regarding Graso 🙂 I find myself curious about any further impressions from Castel Slanica, so if anyone possesses firsthand experience, please feel free to share... 😉

I could really use some help here—does anyone have any leads or advice on where I can stash about 60 guests? (Ideally somewhere near San Francisco). Does anyone know of any rental houses or maybe a hotel that won't charge an absolute fortune per night? Thanks a ton!

Check out Hotel Chicago over by Duilov, that one should be a bit easier on the wallet...

The location? Stunning. Space? Fine. Food? Decent enough. But honestly, that was about it. The wine was an absolute train wreck—we couldn't even bring ourselves to drink it. And don't even get me started on the spirits situation; they didn't even have any hard liquor on the menu. We spent the entire night basically begging for a tiny splash of whiskey just to feel human again...

Jamie Allen4 said:I appreciate the advice. Regarding the Radisson, while the beach itself is absolutely stunning, I have heard rumors that renting a lounge chair can cost upwards of $100... which seems excessive. Graso also strikes me as an excellent alternative, though I am uncertain about their capacity; does anyone happen to have specific information regarding how many chairs they actually have available? In your opinion, would Graso be a superior choice compared to Velum? I am planning my trip for June 2015, so I am hopeful that we can secure a reservation 🙂

Cheers,
I already booked the patio at the Radisson Hotel for our wedding. The prices are basically the same as their indoor hall. The cheapest option is $107 per person (drinks not included). The only difference from booking the hall is an extra $1.25 fee for the patio rental; everything else stays the same.

My fiancé and I did a food tasting and I was actually pretty impressed.

If anyone else ends up at a wedding at the Radisson, let us know how it goes.

Try looking outside of San Francisco—maybe check out the Amigos restaurant in Malibu; I know for a fact they keep guest apartments right next to their catering hall, and if it isn't peak summer, the price is practically symbolic

I was just at the Radisonna this past Saturday—food was decent (classic menu: dry appetizer: prosciutto and cheese, French style, warm appetizer, two types of risotto: beef risotto was OVERPEPPERED 😠 1st course: green pasta with seafood—EXCELLENT, beef stew—just okay; 2nd course: lamb—honestly, the potatoes were TOP-TIER, but the meat was mediocre... the newlyweds handled the desserts.

Staff was helpful and fast, though clearly college students working part-time rather than professionals.

My boyfriend was at the reception; it started at 4 PM and lasted until almost 2 AM. Even though I assume the hall booking ended at midnight, the manager and staff didn't make a scene about the extension...

I don't know the exact price, but the couple mentioned they were happy. I can ask them if anyone cares, since we have their reunion this Friday.😁

Unfortunately, June through September is high season, so hardly anyone will let you book for just one night. I already checked with Amigos, but they're fully booked for my dates (September). I need space for about 80 people. Honestly, finding a venue is turning out to be harder than actually planning the wedding itself. :-)

Thanks for the reply... yeah, when I tried the food, my only complaint was the lamb, which was honestly pretty mediocre. Everything else was great for me.

So there's plenty of staff? As long as guests aren't waiting forever, I don't care.

I feel like I should weigh in regarding Grace.😁

We actually held an event at Grace, and everything was fantastic. Our guests absolutely loved the atmosphere, the food, and the service. Sitting out on the terrace, nobody seemed indifferent to the setting; it really makes an impression. We had a buffet style setup, and as soon as things started running low, the servers were right there to replenish them. Drinks were handled similarly—we had two servers circulating the tables to make sure everyone was taken care of. Since we had arranged it beforehand, they did have spirits available, though if we hadn't requested them, they likely wouldn't have been there, much like what happened at that other party. We even had the option to bring our own or use theirs.
Anyway, I highly recommend the Grace-pure five.

There's a Student Hostel right across from the Pirate, which looks like they rent out space during the summer:

"Spinut Hostel" has a capacity of 223 people. The hostel has 113 rooms, including three single rooms specifically designed for guests with disabilities.

The Student Hostel rents to outside guests from July 23rd to September 30th, and apparently, they take reservations year-round.

Actually, hold up—this wasn't even about Grace, it was about Castel Slanica...

Hey everyone, I could really use some help here... basically, we have a wedding coming up at Skyview... and I completely blanked on asking one specific thing. Since I can't make it over there in person right now to check, does anyone happen to know... do they set out little plates of pastries on every single table, or is it more of a dedicated dessert station with cakes and sweets? I’d be incredibly grateful if someone could clear this up for me.

Has anyone ever worked with Digitalis for photo or video shoots out in San Francisco? We’re thinking about bringing them on, but none of my buddies have actually used them before...
Any DJ recommendations???
😍

Hey girls, it’s me again...
Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up (or maybe have delivered) one of those balloon explosions for a belt, and what kind of damage am I looking at price-wise?🙂

Aaron Brown7 if I were you, I'd take a look at that shop with all the balloons—you know, the one right by that blue Anic building... if you know what I mean...

I truly cannot say enough good things about the Marriott; from the exquisite cuisine to the impeccable service and the overall atmosphere, everything was simply wonderful.

The servers were incredibly efficient and attentive, and I actually got the impression that there were more staff members on hand than there were wedding guests—though I did hear a rumor that many of them were college students working through a campus job placement program.

Our celebration took place outdoors, right on the scenic plaza.

As for the cost, I didn't catch the exact figure because I forgot to ask the newlyweds, but my best guess is that the pricing is pretty much in line with what you would expect at any other high-end banquet hall in the country.

Hey guys, what’s the deal with kids and pricing at the stadium? Do they actually pay full price for a seat, or is it half off until they hit a certain age or something? 🙂

What kind of joke are we even talking about here?
When you finally get around to booking that venue, why not go ahead and ask about all those little extra details upfront? I mean, wouldn't it be just wonderful if you spent the whole event realizing you should have checked on something specific, only to be met with that classic, "Oh, I had no idea," shrug from the staff?
