I actually know a lady who handles all of that personally, so I can pass along her number if you want to give her a call and ask some questions...

I honestly can't say enough good things about the Boss group. They’re actually going to be playing at our local festival soon, and I am just over the moon about it. They have such an incredible reputation for performing at places like the local arena, so if you ever get the chance to catch one of their shows, seriously, go—you will absolutely love them. They truly deserve every single cent they make.

How much are they even charging?! And do they actually have any women on staff? Seems unlikely to me...

They definitely have a girl. If I remember correctly, there are about five or six guys and just one girl in the mix.

Oh, that’s awesome 😁
Any idea what the damage is on the price tag? If you know, let me know... thanks 😁

I’m trying to get my head around the catering situation, but I haven’t been able to find much info online. I know Arcade does catering and stuff, but honestly, $9 per person feels a bit steep when you’re looking at a massive guest list. Does anyone know a local caterer who would be down to prep plates or appetizers if I just buy all the ingredients myself? I really don't want to drop $1,500–$2,000 on catering alone.
Also, I heard a rumor that you don't actually have to order food for the exact headcount—like, if there are 180 people coming, you just order for 120 and somehow it’s still enough food?
Has anyone actually dealt with this before? Would love to hear your experiences.

Try reaching out to these guys; they do great work and won't break the bank.

Anyone here making their own invites or thank-you cards? Where do you guys grab your paper? I checked out an art shop earlier and they’re asking like $5 a sheet, which is insane because I need a massive amount...

Yes, I understand, though one must admit that an art supply store at least offers some semblance of variety. It truly doesn't seem worth the trip to a local Staples or Office Depot since they have absolutely nothing in stock, and even then, a single patterned sheet ends up being more expensive $0.33 than what you would find at the art shop. If anyone happens to know of any other reliable places to look, it would be simply WONDERFUL

Wait, what kind of paper are we talking about for $1 a sheet $10?
I actually went to a craft store and picked up some patterned paper—it had these embossed designs and a silver shimmer—in B1 size (basically like a huge sheet of cardstock). I paid $7.25 for that one single sheet, but I managed to get 15 envelopes out of it, and you can get way more invitations from it if you cut them right...

For the actual invitations, I bought A4 sheets that were 190gsm thick. It was $0.83 per sheet, and I could get two invitations out of every one...

It definitely ended up being worth it for me...

Joshua Perez122 said:So, I just got off the phone with Sky and checked out a few other halls and restaurants a bit ago. Prices seem to be hovering somewhere between $45 and $50... I mean, I can definitely keep calling them myself, but honestly, I’m more interested in hearing from people who have actually been there for weddings..
I reached out to
Aria
Bolero
Sky
Velum
And Kadena—they said they can fit about 120 people there.

If any of you know anything at all, could you maybe write a few words about each place?..
Or if you have a recommendation, let me know!

Well, here’s my take, based on what I’ve seen and what I haven't 😁. The only time I was at Bolero was for a party, and that was years ago. I remember the hall itself being nice enough, but honestly, I couldn't get past the entrance—having to deal with a garage setup is just a mood killer. I’m getting married this October, so I’ve pretty much scouted most of these spots. In the end, we pulled the trigger on Sky. As for the others, let me give you my two cents. I already mentioned Bolero. Regarding Velum, it’s fine, I guess, but I’m just not a fan of that whole nautical theme they have going on—everything is decorated like a sailboat or a marina. I did go there for a pirate-themed party once; the room looks good, and the food is actually great. The staff seemed polite enough from what I could tell, but for the 170 guests I'm planning for, it's way too small. Plus, from what my friends have told me, the dance floor is tiny for a crowd that size. Ultimately, we went with Sky. Both my fiancé and I loved it immediately, so the decision was easy. Also, the venue is right in Santa Barbara, so there isn't a massive trek to get there, which was a big factor for us. We also love the idea of having cocktails by the pool, assuming the weather behaves and—by some miracle—the pool is actually full 😁.

Who else would you recommend besides Tina Katanić and Ana Grgić? I feel like they've been all over the news lately, so I'm wondering if anyone else has some solid recommendations to throw my way?

So, I was actually the maid of honor at a wedding last year where they played, and honestly? It was phenomenal. They have this great sound, but they aren't one of those obnoxious bands that tries to steal the spotlight—it’s all about the couple and the guests, which is how it should be. They really know their stuff. If I recall correctly, there were five of them, including a girl. And the vocalist just focuses on singing rather than trying to juggle a guitar at the same time, which—in my opinion—is absolutely perfect. Major props to them.

Just head over to Kauri, listen to what they have to say, and then decide for yourself if it's actually your scene...

Does anyone know what the price range is for wedding dresses at Maggie Smith in San Francisco? Are they considered on the pricier side? Thanks

Kathleen Sebelius from San Jose is great. Solid work, prices are fair— $83 she does house calls too, though she mostly works out of her own little studio now.

Hey there!
I’ve got a quick question/favor to ask. Is anyone heading out toward Tulsa, Iowa, anytime soon to pick up some wedding supplies? I spotted this specific ribbon that I am absolutely obsessed with, but I’d need to drop about $100 on it, and the ribbon itself is going to run me $27. So, if anyone is already planning a shopping trip for their own fabric or materials, would you mind grabbing mine too? Or, if anyone has been to that shop in Tulsa recently and still has the receipt handy, could you send it my way? I heard that once you shell out $100, you can use that same receipt to come back and buy more without having to drop the full amount all over again. Thanks for the help! 🙂
