I just realized I made a bit of a typo there... I didn't mean to say Vigus band, I actually meant The Beach Boys. They were my favorite👍
hehe, I guess I just got everything mixed up for a second... Vigus is actually a retail store

I can't seem to find this locally, or maybe it's just not a thing here, but I figured I’d ask...
- does anyone know where I can get custom magnetic lapel pins made? ...I'm trying to avoid poking holes in people's clothes at the venue entrance. Thanks!

I'm not sure about the magnetic ones, but I have seen those adhesive backing options for pins. If you need a photo, I actually have one sitting around from a wedding...
I can tell you that it held up pretty well—in fact, it’s still stuck to my cutting board right now.😉

If I can't track down some magnets, I might just have to go the adhesive route—I spotted a thread on the forum discussing "glue dots," but so far, nobody with actual hands-on experience has given me the green light 🙂 Thanks, Taylor Kelly2, and if you're up for it, maybe post a photo...
p.s. how much of a headache are those "glue dots" actually for DIYers?

To be honest, I haven't had the best luck with adhesive badges. Last summer, I attended some weddings where they were using those stick-on pins, and I noticed they were literally falling off everyone's clothes. It was incredibly hot out, people were sweating, and the glue just couldn't handle it. I mean, when they first applied them, they seemed perfectly fine, but the hold didn't last very long at all. In the end, I actually went out and grabbed some safety pins just so I could secure mine myself. Now that I think about it, looking back at the photos from the reception hall, there were abandoned badges scattered everywhere...👎

I’m not positive, but I don't think glue dots will cut it... you want that thick, foam double-sided tape instead. You can find it at any Home Depot or Lowe's. I've been to weddings where they used it and everything stayed put perfectly, though I guess it really comes down to how good the tape is. 👍 It’s honestly a lifesaver because attaching lapels is such a breeze. One more thing—don't go sticking it on the lapels months in advance, like two months before the big day. Just like any other adhesive, it’s going to lose its grip over time, so that might be why things are failing.

What I actually used—or rather, what I carried during the weddings—was just basic, let’s call it, adhesive paper, which they then used a glue gun on to attach the decorations.

In my case, this has been stuck to the board for about a year now, so the background looks a bit... well, weathered.

There we go... I hope this helps at all.🙂

We had a DJ at our wedding who absolutely crushed it—he kept everyone on the dance floor until 5 AM. He seems like a local guy since I haven't seen much advertising for him online.
I finally tracked down his current info (he used to have a different one, so I couldn't send it earlier), so take a look at his work here:
He’s a bit older and more experienced, a really chill guy who can mix anything from classic rock to modern house.
Basically, he's a pro from the Midwest, hailing from Indianapolis.

Sending love to all my Midwest friends from Palm Springs

feralfox832, could you give me a ballpark figure on what that DJ charges?

Just reach out to him directly. I won't speak for him, but he played our gig for about $300, and now it just depends on what you’re looking for. Honestly, you should sit down and negotiate the details—whether you want him there to hype up the crowd, or if you want to go without him and just stick to the video effects. He’s got a whole list of add-ons depending on the package. For us, he basically acted as the DJ, but he also did this video mix on a massive screen which was actually a pretty cool touch.
So, your best bet is to just shoot him an email.

I highly recommend her. My only issue was that whenever I tried to call her back for other weddings I attended, she was already booked up. However, she recommended two other girls to me, and I actually still use one of them for important events today. If anyone needs her number, just send me a DM...

Please, ladies, I need Jelena's number!
Everything seems to be booked up, and I'm hoping she isn't too... if I can even track her down... 😢
I saw a bride who used her services, and I was genuinely impressed...

How far in advance am I actually supposed to book these things?

I am not certain; they say one should book her much further in advance...
My wedding is scheduled for May of next year, but that falls right in the middle of peak wedding season, and Easter is far too early... everything seems to be clashing at once.

On another note, does anyone happen to have a contact number for Maya Perry for photography?
And what would the approximate cost be?

Ugh, I actually had her number once, but I've managed to lose it somewhere. You can probably find her on Facebook, though...🙂

Could I get Jane's number too? Also, if anyone happens to have a contact for some Daria who does makeup...

Stopped by some shops over near the Midwest border today and picked up a few things:
-ribbons—some are 0.50 yards ($0.67), though I saw some at 0.30 yards too, but they weren't really my style... so naturally there were plenty of 0.70, 0.80, and even larger options. Honestly, the selection was huge—lots of colors and sizes, including some with padding and floral patterns, plus some more unique ones without any designs at all.
-decorative bows—got 10 of them for 1.5 dollars ($2.00)
-balloons—100 count 2.2 miles
-those little sparkler things you stick on top of a cake 3.1 miles
They also had a massive variety of netting, tulle, ring pillows, and all sorts of other decor. I think it’s actually worth making the trip just for the ribbons—if you want everything ready-to-go, they have those, but there's plenty of raw material if you prefer to DIY...

Super 👍

Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up some bows, balloons, and similar decor at Bed Bath & Beyond?

Ugh, I urgently need some help here... my in-laws are coming over on September 4th and the makeup artist I booked isn't picking up my calls or answering any of my texts. It’s starting to feel like I'm getting ghosted, and I'm honestly starting to panic. PLEASE, if you know anyone who does great makeup, send me their number. I'm getting pretty desperate at this point... I really hope everyone isn't already booked up for that date.

Hi everyone! My fiancée and I are looking at booking the 98 Degrees venue over in the Y2K district—probably sometime next year around September or October—so I was hoping to get some feedback. Does anyone happen to know what their pricing looks like, or maybe what the menu options are like? Any insights would be great.
