Sandra Hernandez9 said:For those interested—there’s a shop in downtown St. Louis called Vrata of the Heartland that carries some truly sharp suits, starting around $120 and going up from there. They’re expecting a new collection to drop soon, so we'll be heading out for a shopping spree once that arrives. 🙂

Great. Care to be more specific? I've never been 🙂

As soon as you cross the bridge, take a left—it's impossible to miss—and you'll see a massive department store right there. 😉

Kenneth Bailey48 said:In Columbus, with everything listed plus all the drinks and four hotel rooms, it comes out to $65 per person. So, 195x250=48,750. If we look at this example instead: 110x200=22,000 + 20,000 = 42,000. See? This isn't even using the cheapest venue, and the difference is tiny. If I had 200 guests, it would cost me 39,000, which is even less. Plus, I don't have to stress about the food because everything is handled exactly as agreed, and the quality is proven. At the end of the day, the chef matters just as much as the ingredients.
To each their own. For me, this way is just smarter and cheaper.

Yeah, that really is a great price.
I'm not trying to be critical or anything, it's just how our math compares to most of the venues we looked at in Indianapolis (like Greenwood, the Mursa Hotel, Kopika Restaurant, Peter's Hall and Anne's place in Cherry Valley, the Patria Hotel, or the Classic venue...) which all tend to have similar pricing.
We're also staying at a hotel and getting three rooms for free.
Like you said, everyone should do what works best for them! The most important thing is that we all have happy, beautiful weddings!😍

Also, definitely let me know how the photographer turns out, since we actually put down a deposit for him for May 2011.
🤣

So here’s the update.
It was honestly perfect! That crew from the local studio is a solid ten out of ten, they’re just full of ideas and always making suggestions, though you both definitely need to be on the same page and work together. 😉The final shots should be ready in about a month, but in the meantime, they’ll send over some teasers and will fix things if you aren't feeling them. You get to pick the photos for the album yourself, too. Since we had that weird light drizzle happening, we ended up doing the shoot on Monday instead and we don't regret it one bit. They didn't charge us extra for the reschedule either. Honestly, the guys are totally low-key and stay out of the way, unless, obviously, you go out of your way to pose for them.
We are beyond happy and haven't regretted hiring them for even a second... 👍

That is truly wonderful to hear. 🎉

Do us a favor and share a few shots—even if they're just amateur snaps. 😉

Does anyone know a decent makeup artist in Indianapolis? Also, what’s the typical price range?

Hey, does anyone know where I can pick up those little decorative hats for brandy bottles?

I actually stumbled upon them just yesterday at the main farmers market in Indianapolis—you know, over by the far end near section ten, heading toward the old county jail area (what an explanation, right 😕)... Anyway, there was this vendor selling all sorts of different shaped bottles with custom labels. He had those little hats too $3.25 per piece.

Yeah, they also have soda bottles if someone’s looking for something smaller. They come painted $3.25 piece—though you do have to pay an extra couple of bucks for the cap. You can actually bring in your own bottles too, just for the painting part. It’s honestly really cool work... I’ve seen some large one-liter bottles already done that look great (I’m thinking about grabbing some of those to use as invites for my next backyard BBQ party), priced anywhere from zero up to $15.

Hey everyone,
I’m not entirely sure if you all have heard the news yet, but Matičević over in Pittsburgh is actually adding another wedding hall right next to their current one. They’ve already started taking reservations, and it looks like everything should be wrapped up and ready for business by next June.

Best,

In case anyone is interested, here are the links for the Matičević center:

The hall looks great!
I’m assuming they handled all the decor?
All the wedding tables follow the same theme—the guest tables look nice enough, but the head table feels way too cluttered for my taste.

I happened to catch a glimpse—you all look absolutely stunning. 😍
I quite admire that signage—was it actually utilized in the hall, or...?

Mirna, I used to pick mine up at Valpovka in Pittsburgh—you might want to check there.

I have to agree, I feel like the wedding table decor is just way too cluttered; it’s a bit much for my taste.
Oh goodness, I just realized I posted this in the wrong thread! I actually intended to post this under Weddings in the Midwest. My apologies to the moderators—it definitely wasn't intentional. Would it be possible to move this post to the correct section?😉

So, I’m currently staring at a blank page trying to actually "set a budget" for this wedding we're planning...
Is there any kind soul out there who can give me a little "guidance" on how to tackle all this?
Here’s the deal... we’ve already got a nice little fire station hall booked up in a small town in rural America.
But now I need EVERYTHING—from the tiny details down to the suits—and honestly, where’s the best place to shop for all this stuff around the Midwest?
1. How much food should we even get? Like, if we’re doing lamb and pork, what’s the right ratio for about 200 people? And what kind of ballpark figure am I looking at just for the catering side of things?
2. Drinks and booze
3. Videographers and photographers
4. Decorations (for the hall, the church, ribbons on the cars, etc.)
5. The band (please, send your best recommendations!) and obviously, they'll need to include those traditional musicians to play for the bride during the entrance
6. Invitations
7. Suits and the wedding dress
8. And basically anything else I haven't thought of yet... and PLEASE, let me know roughly how much certain items cost. THANKS! =)

ughhhhh this is so bad, seriously 👎

Btw does anyone know anything about that Bohemian group?🙄

I actually had Jane from Martimex do my makeup, and honestly, I am beyond thrilled with how it turned out. If you're looking for someone who really knows what they're doing, hit me up in my DMs for her info! 🙂 It feels like every time I turn around, prices are just creeping up again, doesn't it? It’s getting to that point where you look at a receipt and feel like you need a second mortgage just to cover the basics. Honestly, everything is just hovering at this higher level now, and it’s starting to feel like the "new normal," which is pretty exhausting if you ask me. $50Just giving this a quick test run to see if everything's working properly. 👍

I feel the exact same way about that hall 👎 but honestly, you can't really argue with people's tastes. 😁
Plus, trying to pull the whole thing off yourself is going to cost you a massive amount of sanity... so, if you ask me, calculating everything on a per-guest basis is a much better way to go. 😉 Just my two cents ☕
