I’m definitely planning on picking up some Victoria's Secret makeup for myself too, and honestly, it makes me so happy to see yet another recommendation popping up for it... 🙂)

Harold Hayes9 said:maza116, what’s the deal? You aren't a fan of that hall??? Seriously... my mother-in-law and my groom wouldn't even suggest it to me.... our only options left are the hall at Hotel Blaz and that LEA venue out in Malibu...... so yeah, I wouldn't do Hotel Blaz either..... wait, actually, I went to check it out myself. They just repainted everything yellow like ten days ago, and the owner showed us around the kitchen and the walk-in fridge—everything was so clean and spotless.... plus the bathrooms were great...🙂 maybe he just finished the renovations, or maybe you haven't been there in a while? I was just there a week ago and it looks gorgeous, totally fresh since they painted.... I actually have a photo..... not sure if we're allowed to post pictures here though....

Well, it's one thing if you didn't have much choice because of the date and other venues being booked...
I was in that hall last summer, the last time I visited, and it was also painted yellow, just like it was five or six years ago. There were even those sunflower pictures on the walls... I suppose some people might like that. About two years ago, there was a shooting during a wedding reception there. Word is some thieves tried to rob someone through the kitchen, and the owner pulled a gun, just like the robbers did, and things went south. I heard there were injuries. I don't think there are a hundred halls in Miami Beach; I assume we're talking about the same place. But fine, as far as the food goes, it's decent.

Yeah, tons of people were already booked for those dates since we just decided to tie the knot last week... so, I managed to pull everything together somehow.

Hey, can someone DM me Victoria's Secret's last name for makeup? Thanks!

I was reading reviews about Palm Springs for flowers and stuff... so I'm gonna head over there, plus check out my aunt's stall at the farmer's market in Indianapolis and that boutique in Memphis...

Has anyone actually hired Fox News for a wedding? Looking for some vibes... We were torn between a Midwesterner band, Bell, and Fox News, but I'm leaning toward Fox News because they seem better than the other two. Those other bands play way too much folk music... so Fox News is probably better since they play a bit of everything. We don't really want traditional stuff, just the oldies (like Green Eye, etc.), some local classics, and fun hits... definitely nothing foreign. Neither we nor our guests really listen to that. You've gotta pick music that fits the couple and the crowd...

Still have a few photos left to pick from: one of the Zoom call, plus shots of Briggs and Elijah (all taken back in Des Moines).... I’m honestly stuck, though. I’ve been scrolling through the forums and seeing some people raving about them, while others seem totally unimpressed....😢

Can anyone shoot me a PM with the numbers for Jelena’s makeup services and Daria’s too? I keep reading everyone on here raving about them both... thanks in advance! 🙂

The MD’s parents actually wanted us to go with Fox News, but I was dead set on being 100% sure about my choice, so we ended up booking them instead.

As for the photographer, I looked at both Briggs and Zoom, and honestly, I liked Briggs better. Then again, I’m not exactly hunting for those over-the-top, super extra shots—I’m definitely not one of those brides who thinks "the photos and video are all I have left from the wedding, so they have to be perfect!" Realistically, I know I probably won't even look at the pictures much later anyway. 🤷 I'm just not your typical bride! 😁

Jeffrey Walker3, I'm definitely not your typical bride either. We actually just decided to tie the knot a week ago, and somehow I managed to find a dress, a venue, the band, and a photographer all in seven days... crazy, right? Honestly, I'm not even looking for those super fancy, high-end photos. For me, it’s all about the vibe—if the atmosphere is great, that's what I'll remember. Plus, I'm marrying the guy I love, so everything else is just extra stuff... Elijah is busy on October 15th, so now I'm looking at Zoom or maybe Briggs, if he's even free. What have you heard? Is Fox News any good?

Hey, has anyone here actually seen or heard the League's folk band from Indianapolis? I'm thinking about catching them soon, so I'd love to hear what you guys think!

That's my two cents. Just check out her work on Facebook under Victoria's Secret and decide for yourself
Anyway, highly recommend 👍

Hey, I am seriously so happy to see everyone giving her such glowing reviews...🙂 I've been planning to reach out to her about some upcoming makeup needs, so I was just wondering what her rates are like—and also, does she provide her own professional kit/products? If you could shoot me a private message with those details, I'd really appreciate it... thanks so much!

I’m definitely going to book Victoria, too—it seems like all I hear is good things about her!! And yeah, she absolutely brings her own professional makeup, obviously. Her pricing is $50 and she does $17 trials!!

Does anyone know who in Indianapolis does that fancy fruit carving—you know, the stuff with watermelons and apples? I was looking for someone talented and wondered if anyone had a lead.😕

If you’re actually looking to hire some catering crew, there are a few things you really ought to keep in mind before you sign anything. Seriously—don't just go with whoever has the flashiest Instagram feed or the lowest quote. You need to vet them properly if you don't want your event turning into a total disaster.
So, I actually had a local culinary school handle the entire catering setup at my place—not the one over in Indianapolis, obviously—but they went all out. They even put together this incredible fruit platter with all sorts of crazy shapes and carvings, and honestly? It was pretty damn impressive.

Wait, I heard someone say bangles are actually cheaper in Des Moines than they are in Indianapolis?? Does anyone know if that's true? Has anyone picked some up from DJ Unknown lately? What are we looking at for prices?

Someone mentioned they were out in the North America recently—does anyone happen to know what the going rate is over there for things like tulle, bows, balloons, and all that craft stuff? 🙂 🙂

I think I mentioned that I've been there before.
Here’s the link if you want to check it out yourself: 😉

Everything is incredibly affordable. You can grab 100 balloons for 3.1 miles, or 100 drawstring bags for 6.2 miles. 🙂
(Just to provide some perspective, a single drawstring bag here in the States runs about $1.80, or roughly $0.53)
As for the fabric—I picked up 10 meters of material (1 meter wide) for just 6.2 miles.

I could really use some advice!

Does anyone have recommendations for a talented seamstress? I need a few minor alterations made to my wedding dress—mostly adjusting the straps and shortening the hem slightly.
When I went in for measurements, I visited a boutique on Capuchin Street in Indianapolis, right near the LensCrafters. The lady there seemed incredibly kind and welcoming, which was a relief... but does anyone here have firsthand experience working with her?

Also, can anyone suggest a reliable dry cleaner? I’m looking for a place where I won't have to lie awake at night worrying that they might ruin such an important gown. 🙂

Thanks so much 😉
