velvetwalker742,
I know all about Vigus... they carry them over at Kroger too, but honestly, compared to Dobar Partner, their pricing is just straight-up insulting. That specific strip of tape I need for my project at $13 runs me about 50m, but at Vigus, it’s $1.25/meter. And get this—you can't even buy the whole roll to snag a bulk discount... they force you to buy it by the meter... I'm not having any of that!
So, does OS have a relationship with Dobar Partner, or are they strictly Vigus? Is that location at the old Walmart? 🤷

They have a Dobar Partner located at the old Walmart, and they carry quite a variety... though I'm not entirely sure what their payment terms are like.

Look, casualhawk16, you've got a point there—their prices are definitely higher. We actually sat down and compared a few different items, and every single one came out a couple of dollars more expensive. A friend of ours runs a local flower shop and sources her inventory through a wholesaler in Indianapolis; she ends up paying the exact same rates they do because she’s strictly tied to their specific discount structure. On top of that, she still has to factor in the extra shipping costs and those ridiculous ferry fees just to get her stock delivered. Honestly, I find the whole setup a little predatory... 😈

Look, I headed into Indianapolis today and was walking down the street when I stumbled upon this wedding boutique. It’s called Dion, located at 39 Main Street. I made sure to jot everything down 😁
For those of you who don't know the area, it's on that stretch from Target (by the big main roundabout heading toward downtown) right near the Stil hair salon.

Hey everyone, just joined the forum and I have a quick question 🙂
has anyone here actually dealt with a 100% cover band before? What’s their vibe at weddings—do they take a ton of breaks or what?

I actually heard them play at my cousin’s wedding. They only took breaks for dinner, and they were fantastic. We actually just booked them for our own wedding this June.

Plus, everyone I've asked has nothing but great things to say about them.
I'm not sure when your big day is, but they stay incredibly busy. If you're thinking about booking them, you should definitely reach out ASAP.🙂

Payment terms? Like, does cash not fly with them? 🤷

I already reached out—just trying to see if anyone else has actually dealt with them.🙂))

Finding decent paper for invitations in Indianapolis is honestly such a nightmare because the selection is just terrible. I ended up designing my own invitations, and I was really hunting for that specific embossed texture. The problem is, you can't actually buy pre-embossed paper; you have to have the design pressed into regular stock using something called blind embossing, which I think? Anyway, getting that done in small batches is incredibly expensive—and by small, I mean even if you just need something like a hundred invitations. You just can't find ready-made textured paper anywhere! In the end, I decided to order my supplies from Washington, D.C. through a company called FedEx. They were way more affordable than anyone I could find locally. First, they sent over a bunch of samples so I could actually feel the different textures before deciding, and everything arrived within a day or two. They even cut the sheets to whatever size I needed, which was a huge help. For me, that was definitely the most cost-effective way to go. I hope this helps someone out somewhere!!

Hi everyone,
I’m joining the ranks of the engaged... 🙂 my wedding isn't until September 2013, but I'm already starting to panic about the details.
I keep seeing mentions of the Crystal ballroom in Indianapolis. I'm torn between that and the venue in Greenville. How far in advance should I book?
The music is my biggest headache. From what I've gathered, Sax hasn't let anyone down yet. What are they looking at price-wise? And what about The Band?
How much lead time do I actually need for these reservations?
Help! 🙂

A Sax will run you about $1,400, and that’s just the instrument itself—no shipping included. They tend to hike the price by maybe $100 every single year, so honestly, you should probably budget closer to $1,500.
Back when I put down my deposit, they told him they were already fully booked up through 2013.
🙂

I was actually over at the Crystal venue myself—we booked our space back in January 2011 for a May 2012 date.
We were dead set on that specific timeframe, which is why we pulled the trigger so far in advance...
If you have any other questions about the hall, just shoot them my way... 😁

We also used the Crystal hall over in Greenville, though we actually booked back in September 2011 for a date in September 2012. We were looking to lock in a specific date, too... and since I know quite a bit about how that venue operates, I might be able to offer some help if needed.

Thanks, ladies! I know Sax is solo. Honestly, the price isn't even that bad... I was expecting much worse.
I’m looking at this smaller Crystal hall since my guest list tops out at maybe 220. Even that venue in Greenville would work for me.
I just need to nail down the pricing and get a feel for the service quality. I'm not just stressing for no reason... besides, you guys booked your spots ages ago.
And everyone keeps making fun of me for hunting down a hall and a band already. Well, I have a specific date in mind, and that's that.
Jack Lee5 and cosmicnomad22, please send over more details on those halls when you can. Thank youuuu!

I honestly can’t quite follow her—my friend settled up in cash, but she was rambling on about something called a wire transfer.🤷
If you ever find yourself in downtown Chicago, stop by and take a look. They have such an overwhelming selection that it’s almost a headache to choose—it's exactly like browsing online, just in person.

swiftsailor63, you could always grab some backup from Saxon if you’re feeling it. They usually ink a deal with some local bluegrass bands right at the start of the year and stick with them all season long. They’ll probably even throw that option out there if you end up heading into an interview.

Greetings...
It appears spring brings a new wave of matchmakers, so here is another one for you 🙂
Naturally, I require assistance...
The choice is between Vigor or the Band, 100 percent.
I suspect I will never reach a conclusion on my own, so I am relying on your experiences with both groups 😉

I already put a deposit down for the Band—now I’m just crossing my fingers that everything works out...
I mean, they sound great, but at the end of the day, it all depends on the crowd and the vibe...
hopefully, it won't be a total snoozefest 🙂

Oh, that’s actually not bad. I've heard some groups have deals with local musicians. Thanks for the heads-up 🙂

Can I get their price if I go with a full band? 🙂

Anyone here actually used a Quattro band before? I've heard they're solid...
